  1. He has got a temper on him, but crucially not with his own players. He is seen as a father figure by the players and someone to inspire them, and to take the pressures on himself, in the same way that Jose did. No signing would be smooth, but with Ronaldinho as an example, if Scolari fancies him and thinks he can bring him back to his best then there is every chance he will come, he looks like leaving Barca anyway. Players like Kaka are a different story - the club want them to stay and i am sure Kaka is happy there. Formation and transfers are going to be the most interesting things to look forward to with Scolari......how will the new Chelsea look come the start of the season?
  2. Depends on what formation we play really, 4-3-3 we will need 6 central midfielders to cover the 3 positions, with Sidwell a dead cert to leave and Maka getting a bit old now it leaves us with 4 players: Lampard, Ballack, Essien and Mikel - So there is room for Kaka +1 granted the quality of our back up players will be exceptionally high to the point where you won't keep everyone happy - but it is possible. With the Deco roumer too we could be looking at a midfield like this: .............................Essien/Mikel.................................. ..........Lampard/Ballack................................................ .................................................Kaka/Deco................ Besides, Kaka is one of only a few players that if you can sign you do and then you fit them in somehow..
  3. Lol, would be hilarious. Also with us being linked to a couple of Portugal's players, it makes discussions a hell of a lot easier I think Scolari is going to be a very good appointment for us. He is certainly a strong person and knows how to win a football game. It is good that we have made this announcement now and can move on with our transfer targets. Scolari is a big fan of Ronaldinho and has encouraged him recently to move on for his own sake, could be one to come and Scolari could be the one to turn him around.
  4. So it looks like we are again being heavily linked with Kaka now scolari is the man in charge. Aparently during negeotiations with AC Milan about Drogba we are trying to force their hand and let us have Kaka and we will let them have Drogba and Sheva.....
  5. It is going to be very interesting to see now who we go for in the transfer market and how we intend to set up next season. Scolari has played both 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 i am sure he plays 4-3-3 with portugal because they are seriously lacking in strikers so it plays to their strengths. Deco, Kaka, Quaresma and Ronaldinho immediately being linked to us.....
  6. The time frame for Pre Season isn't the greatest. We have Scolari now starting on the 1st of July, the first pre season game is the 23rd, all players at the Euros will have time off after so will join up much later. It is going to be a disrupted pre season i think...
  7. Must admit wasn't my first choice, but an excellent appointment. Just the type of manager we need, respected, a winner and can handle the big names. Next season will be very very interesting now!!!
  8. Well it would certainly be interesting if Scolari did have an input in the Bosingwa deal, considering how long ago now it was we signed him.... could we have it dealt with THAT long ago? Of course it is possible considering Scolari is involved with the Euros, he and us would want it kept quiet until after! Also roumer circulating that Zico, having just left his club is going to be Scolari's number 2! Never really fancied Hiddink.....
  9. Are you sure it isn't because they have cut you off due to addiction??? The press are having a field day with this, the silence from CFC helps it massively. I am sure they don't care though, especially if they have got their man already. I am not convinced Scolari is the best man for the job for a few different reasons, but he is a very very good manager and will no doubt have us playing some good football.
  10. Absolutely, but the press would have us believe that the club have taken a step back after being snubbed by Ancelotti and are carefully considering our options.... I think it is more likely that it will be Scolari now than anyone else.
  11. With Kenyon now on holiday it does all tend to point at the fact that the new manager has been decided on, but again the total silence and secrecy surrounding this makes it so uncertain to know what could be actually happening. Is it done? Are we still interviewing? - who knows.
  12. Well that almost certainly seems to be the case! Although there were stories that we are going to interview Rijkaard and Mancini this week. Although it is so hard to know what to believe in the papers. Scolari seems the most likely. And it looks like we still have a couple more weeks wait yet, which is very frustrating but if we get the right man then that is good.
  13. Not the greatest of pre seasons to be honest. But the tournament in Moscow should be interesting and good preparation for the season. The game against AC Milan could be interesting with all the supposed deals going on between the 2 clubs.
  14. Well we was always waiting for these stories, and for some reason when players are with their national teams then it seems to happen more often! I don't believe Carvalho will exit, he has recently signed a new contract and isn't the sort of player to kick up a fuss and force a move.
  15. Well now the Euros are on the roumers have gone a bit quiet, but all the stories now are talking about Scolari! With some reports even suggesting that we already have an agreement in place with him. Scolari is clearly a very good manager, but his lack of managment at club level in Europe is the only negative point surrounding him..
  16. Yup, it certainly does look like that now i think. And by the way, Bosingwa looked great the other day
  17. Surely this can't be guranteed until they have decided on the new boss and asked them if he wants him here???
  18. Seems that way. Modric and Dos Santos are 2 massive signings for the Spuds...
  19. Deal agreed with Tottenham according to Barca..... I really hope we sign some exciting talent this summer, and don't let them all pass us by again. Modric and Dos Santos both going to Spurs. Very very good players..
  20. 70m to 100m euros is the figures being splashed about. So who knows what the actual figure will be, but it will be a lot. Plus £200,000 to £300,000 (depending where you read it) per week AFTER tax!! Unreal.
  21. More sentimental than realistic! Eidur won't come back and nor should he. Great player for us and loved him, but Chelsea and Eidur have both moved on.... we need to look forward rather than back.
  22. Yup they have not looked no-where near as good without him in the team. But £80m is a lot to spend. Which would no doubt go towards a couple of big strikers. I can see Ronaldo leaving now definately. Classic Real Madrid this is.....
  23. Real have pulled off transfer more unlikely than this in the past. They have a habbit of getting who they want. Ronaldo will push for the transfer and Man Utd will take a view that the £80m+ they get for him will be a lot of money to build the squad with and just do the deal. Man Utd will not be the same without him thats for sure! BUT the money they will get is a seriously large ammount enough to get some quality players in.
  24. And lets not forget Milan Baros either!!!! Our search for a new manager has been a very difficult and strange one. Unfortunately we can only speculate as to the reason why, but if at the end of the day we get the right man it will be worth it for sure.
  25. Well we are risking losing some players outside of the Euros. Dos Santos and Robinho are a couple that spring to mind... but it could they may wait? Who knows. It would certainly be better to get it sorted now, but we must make sure we make the right appointment.
