I would do backflips if we sign Goofy Would ideal to bring him in under Scolari. Deco, i am less bothered about. Would be happy if we didn't sign him, but wouldn't be bothered if we did.

Infinately more talented than SWP. His age and personality is the problem when it comes to Deco, age mostly considering we already have Lampard, Ballack and Maka into their 30's in our midfield. Although i think he would do a good job for a couple of years under Scolari.

Not in a SWP way surely? Surely more in a Drogba way, can be a bit of a tart and can go missing at times - World Class on his day.

Wages are certainly too high, but you can't compare it to a regular job. If the players were not earning those salaries then the extra money would just go into the owners pockets anyway...

Yeah, but it doesn't mean that it can't happen at some point. It is possible, but who knows when we will find taht right man for the job...

It really has no relation to Frank Lampard! None at all........ IF Deco is someone that Scolari wants to bring in then he must also think longer term to his replacement too, because we are not going to get many years out of Deco thats for sure. Of course looking within Sergio Tejera would be the ideal replacement for that position.

There is certainly nothing "random" about the fixture list. Too many things to take into account. Obviously a home tie would be nice...........

It is an interesting one now, maybe CFC don't want him anymore? Scolari could certainly rekindle his best form, of that there is no doubt. But from what we here about Scolari it could be that Drogba's character is one that Scolari will not tolerate. Again all pure speculation and we will see in time. But Drogba is a player that you would definately be happy to see stay.

Well Solari has pretty much confirmed that we are not going to see him here past 4/5 years. Which i don't think is a major suprise to most people because of his age. But i think most people would like to see something more long term in place, to really build something. On the other hand i just can't wait for the 1st July and for Scolari to get in the hotseat and start working with OUR players and discussing the future with CFC.

Couldn't care less how much any player earns really, so if that is what we have to pay to keep him here then do it. There is no midfielder like Frank anywhere. Although i don't think that is the figure we will have to pay to keep him. It is aparently going to be the same as JT, Sheva and Ballack are on, which you have to say is fair.

With the ammount of defenders we have in the squad at the moment there is just no way i can see him forcing his way in! However with a new manager comming in you would think that everyone will get together pre season and the manager will decide who to let go, so there maybe if he can perform a chance to force himself back in.

I must say i have been very impressed so far! He reminds me a lot of the way Ahsley Cole plays. Hopefully he can transfer this form to Chelsea once the season starts. Working under Scolari will certainly help. Time will tell as always but we do seem to have signed a very good right back.

Yes he would. Don't know too much about him! What type of midfielder is he? Don't know of many young creative players in the Kaka/Deco mould who we could pick up either.

So when would you expect the Euro players to return? Come to think of it, when does everyone return? We know Scolari starts on the 1st, is that when pre season starts too?

Yes i am sure he will. The story makes it seem like a hopeful attempt than anything to do with us wanted to let the player go. Although right now we have no real idea as to which players Scolari will fancy.

Yes, it really isn't going to be an easy Pre Season thats for sure..... Although we can be grateful that a large portion of our squad will not have been at the Euros or the Olympics.

I don't think Ferreira and Ivanovic should be classed as midfield cover! Ideally we need 2 players for each position to ensure our squad is strong enough, which means (Assuming we are playing using 3 midifield positions) 6 squad players.. we have Lampard, Ballack, Essien and Mikel - Sidwell will not be around next season and it is very debateable how much Maka is going to play next season. So i would say there is room for definately 1 and possibly 2. Personally i would have liked to have seen us sign some young talent in the 19 - 22 age bracket. And have 3 experienced players (Lampard, Ballack, Essien) and 3 younger players (Mikel, ???????, ??????)

I really don't think that Deco signing has any relevance on Lampards future, we have spaces in Midfield available. OK our midfield squads quality may be a bit too good but everyone will still get games. We have clearly been looking for that midfield playmaker for a while - Deco/Kaka,Van Der Vaart ect.. At the sort of prices being mentioned and the fact that Scolari looks like the man to get the best back out of them i think Deco and Ronaldinho would be good purchases. Even at £20m Ronaldinho would still be a bargain. Look at it this way Villa are asking for £20m for Barry!!!!!!!

Hmmm, tough one really. So far we have had some excellant names linked to us. Previously i would have said Deco! But i am starting to warm to the idea... Actually i don't think i can think of one we have been linked to so far that i wouldn't fancy....

Hard to argue with that! Essien has become an absolutely awesome player for us. With injuries and ammount of games in a season, plus the advanced ages of Lampard, Ballack (and possibly Deco) there will be enough games to go around.
