Full backs who push forward tend to get "caught out" every now and then. I don't think this is a flaw of his. The only question we should ask is how he will adapt to a different type of football. Thankfully he knows how to work under Scolari, so training-wise there should be no suprises for him.
-
Deco certainly wants to come to Chelsea, i think that is perfectly clear. He is available this summer and Scolari is unquestionably a big fan of his..........
-
Eto'o is up for sale. I think there should be no doubt that we should be taking a look at him, i think the only question mark over him is that his recent injuries have taken a toll. His ability is exceptional and should he stay fit long enough would score plenty of goals for us! Could it happen?
-
Well Barca have today confirmed that the Goofy one is for sale!! That in itself drops the price we would have to pay for him. Does Scolari want him? Are we waiting till after the 1st July to sort out potential new signings? I think we should just have a go, at 28 Ronaldinho is far from past it, and with the right motivation which Scolari should be able to provide he could certainly recapture his past form for us.
-
Cole - yes. Ballack - not so much. In my opinon of course Would just love to see someone with a bit of flair and creativity in there to open things up for us. Maybe Joey Cole will get a run out there under Scolari? Who knows?
-
From what he said at the end of the season that is more likely to be something that keeps him here!!
-
Indeed it is, the club has not given any permission. The club and Frank have always been confident a deal will be agreed - Always. So i doubt they will kick up a fuss about this and just get the deal done once everyone is ready.
-
The way that i see it is that we need a playmaker in midfield, if we are playing 4-3-3 like we have been or if we change to how Scolari plays with a 4-2-3-1 - we have needed one for a very long while. We don't need to lose Ballack, Lampard, Essien or Mikel to bring one in. If i had my choice i wouldn't choose Deco, i would go for someone younger. BUT if it is Deco that Scolari wants as that playmaker, then i would be dissapointed because the man is a great player in that position. There is no doubting we NEED a playmaker.
-
Yeah, i would agree with that summary of Cole completly. Back to the Goofy one. Deco seems to be really pushing for Ronaldinho to come to Chelsea while Man City seem to be begging and kissing the mans feet to get him to sign for them. With Scolari to get the best out of him Ronaldinho would be a sensational signing still. And if Scolari does want to bring him there, then i think we will certainly get him considering that he seemingly wants to go, Barca are ready to let him leave and City are the main players for him.

Is Chelsea’s Lampard really worth £150,000 a week?
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well said, completely agree with that. Besides i don't think anyone would begrudge Lampard the same wages as Terry, Ballack and Sheva would they? Also we don't know the reason why nothing has happened so far, there are always such small details to contracts that could hold it up. Image rights and such things. I think it is fair to say that Lampard is one of if not THE most important player in our team. -
It is hard to judge from a players performances at a tournament like this, but when watching him his style definately reminded me of Cole, which is a very very good thing. Our defence with a top class right back will be as strong as possible, which if we are hoping to play more attacking football it will need to be.
-
Does he? Well that is good to hear, hopefully he will be a big influence on our young big stars in the next couple of years, especially the likes of Stoch, Kakuta and Tejera.
-
Well there you go, Frank and Kenyon on holiday. Scolari at work - that would explain why no contract has been signed..
-
There is 1000% no chance he will come to us. But you are right, like him or not you would be mad not to want him here.
-
The noises comming out of the media are that Scolari definately wants Frank to stay. And why wouldn't he? It could be that there is to be a meeting between Scolari and Lampard before any contract is signed.... at the moment we don't know the situation which makes it difficult, is Frank on holiday? I am confident Frank will sign though..
-
I don't think we will have to pay that much. I am sure the club will come to an agreement with him, they would be crazy not to.
-
If he doesn't want to sign then no! There is no point keeping him here, we should cash in and not lose him on a free next year, our midfield is already incredibly strong and could cope without him and there are plenty of players we could pick up to cover. BUT i would seriosuly doubt he doesn't want to sign, and he has said that he does want to sign. The only reason i can see him not signing is with us cocking up the negotiations. Of course we have no idea what he wants or what we are prepared to offer him. I am very confident he will be here next season and finish playing football with us too.
-
That may be the case, doesn't mean they will get him though. If through Jose's contact they were confident of capturing him they wouldn't be spouting off in the media with "please come to us" cries. The only way i can see Lampard leaving is if the club cock up with contract negotiations. Which i can't see happening, everyone knows Franks worth to this club and Frank loves the club too...
-
Us football fans are an impatient bunch thats for sure, never happy..... Well we are 2 weeks away from the start of the Scolari reign, that is when we will see things start to take shape.
-
When a new manager comes in during the summer it is hard to predict what is going to happen when it comes to the playing staff. Obviously Scolari will want to have a look at the players himself and he will also get advice from the coaches already there. We will just have to wait and see what happens with certain squad players and also some young players who may get a chance like Mancienne and Cork
-
It is hard to look at the fixtures every year and be happy with them. There is always something not so great about them.... We know the most important thing and that is how our season is going to start!
-
That would be nice, would love to go to the Emirates and watch the Arsenal clap us out
-
Of course i will put it up on youtube although you would probably see me hurting myself in some way doing it!! Adds to the entertainment i guess lol
-
Having the big away games in the second half of the season is a bit of f**ker....it's hard to read too much into fixtures though. But looking at the Arse's they could build a strong lead again and tail away looking at their fixtures, first 10 or so very winnable for them.
-
Full fixtures courtesy of the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...res/default.stm A rather tough start to the season when you look at it: Pompey, Spurs, Man City and Man Utd with Wigan squeezed inbetween. Would set us up nicely if we win all those to start with...
