So many different stories surrounding this possible transfer. It appears the Madrid Match against Valencia could be very telling, if he isn't there than that is a good sign that he will indeed be moving to us. £30m isn't a bad price for Robinho when you consider the ability of the player, obviously people will have different opinions on the player and the fee paid but for me Robinho will make our squad complete.
-
Majority of pundits and managers seem to have us down to win the league! I think we probably will win the league this season, we look incedibly strong and are trying to be more creative to carve out more chances which is where we have lacked in the last couple of seasons.
-
That bloke is a prize plonker!! What the hell was he thinking. Bloody hilarious though......
-
Just over! If that is the case then, we may well end up paying it. And i think for a 24 year old star like Robinho it isn't a bad price.
-
Saw that this morning. Very interesting story and perfectly possible. We have been looking at Sturridge for a long time. He is English which is what we need with the UEFA rules and he is a very good player. Ran our youth team ragged in the youth cup final last season.
-
Would be funny but we need wide players who are top top class. Well we made sure we got the most possible for Robben and Madrid will do the same, but when the player is determined to go they wll accept at some point. Robinho at his age now is ideal to become a massive star and do it while playing for us getting the best years out of him.
-
Absolutely, i am sure he feels on top of the world at the moment, being involved with the first team, i believe he was part of the fan training day which would have been a big experience for him.
-
I am sure Chelsea already have their cut off point in mind, obviously it depends on how much Scolari has convinced the board he needs Robinho - which is pretty high i would have thought. Madrid play a lot of games to look better to their fans, i am sure this will get done but it will more than likely be a last minute deal.
-
He has done well in the last couple of years, particulary last season. I believe he is training daily with the first team keepers at the moment which will help him a lot, hopefully he will get a run out for wales also. But 18 is still very very young especially for a keeper.
-
It is possible but i would have thought not very likely. If Robinho is pushing for a move as much as the press claim then Madrid know that they are dealing with an unhappy player. I am sure they will go for £30m to £35m which i am sure we will stretch to also if we need to.
-
With less and less time left in the transfer window this transfer saga is going to be more and more in the press and picking up momentum. I think we are going to have to up our bid to around £30m to land him, we are offering £25m and Real want £35m. I do still believe we will sign him, and it seems if reports are to be believed that Robinho is putting pressure on Madrid to let him go.

Frank Lampard Signs New Five Year Deal
EskWeston replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Different wages touted on different papers. If Frank is being honest when he says there was give and take on both sides then we have to assume that he took 5 years on a lower wage than he was initially being offered! The Sun have gone the most overboard it seems (no suprise there) claiming 5 years at £151k per week. It was a good interview in the end, we won't ever know what really happened, Frank admitted he toyed with the idea of going to Inter which i don't think anyone is suprised about. But we can be happy he has stayed with us thats for sure. -
Yeah, Brucies comments didn't help things. "You are gonna love this"...... Far too over the top from the club.

Frank Lampard Signs New Five Year Deal
EskWeston replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Frank is without doubt one of our key players so to know that he will be here beyond next season is excellant news indeed. It took a VERY long time to get sorted out but it finally has been and this can be put to bed now. The club have done very well indeed to get our key players on new contracts in a summer where there was a prediction of a mass exodus. -
Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce today (Wednesday, August 13) that Frank Lampard has signed a new five year contract. The new deal will keep Lampard at the club until the end of the 2013-14 season. Lampard said: 'I want to finish my career at Chelsea. It is something I've said many times and after signing this contract I am very happy and positive I will finish as a player here. I want to be a big part of the next five years and hopefully more for Chelsea. 'It has taken a while to get the deal done and there has been a bit of compromise on both sides but I am delighted we have managed to get there. 'The Chelsea fans have been great to me and I want to repay them for their support. I am very confident that I can maintain a very high level of performance for the next five years. I am really looking forward to the new season under the new manager and with our new players and the current squad there is a great feeling we can build on the successes of the last few years.' Luiz Felipe Scolari said: 'I am delighted that Frank has committed his future to the club. He is a key player for me and vital to Chelsea's future successes. Frank is one of the best professionals I have worked with. Every day he tries to learn something and bring new elements to his game.' Lampard signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2001, and is the latest player to commit his long term future to Chelsea this summer after Petr Cech, Michael Essien and Wayne Bridge all put pen to paper on new contracts. Chelsea Chief Executive Peter Kenyon said: 'It is great news for Chelsea that Frank has signed for the next five years. He is a key member of our team and has been instrumental along with others in our success in the last five years. 'His record of appearances and goals is unparalleled for a midfielder. Being a top English player as well is important to us. We have a significant English element to our squad and that is a central part of our philosophy for the club. 'We are very confident Frank can stay at the top level for the next 5 years. It's taken us a bit of time to get an agreement so this is a real boost going into the new season and with Felipe coming in there is a really positive atmosphere surrounding the club.' The midfielder has scored 110 goals in 369 appearances at the club, including 71 in 247 league games. At present, Lampard is Chelsea's seventh top scorer of all time, the only midfielder in the top ten, and also the only player in his position to have scored four goals in a match for the Blues, a feat he achieved in March at home to Derby County. Suprising more because the club have done a lot of contract renewals recently and have had nothing like this sort of coverage. Even JT's latest contract didn't get so much attention - OK so this has been an ongoing saga but still.
-
So it appears the club gave in then..... Excellant news but an anti-climax all the same
-
Lol, and a lot of other tosh as well.... But i am think that is exactly what it will be as well...
-
No-one would say they are dissapointed Frank has signed a new contract! But to hype it up they way they have is a bit silly if you ask me! As for making Frank feel loved, i am sure the 5 years at £130k to £150k will keep him more than happy Like i said, what contract extention anywhere has been done in this way as to suggest it could be a major signing instead?
-
A normal announcement like the rest of the players got would have been sufficiant for Frank signing a new contract. Like i said the way that this Lampard saga has gone with Frank pushing for a very large offer from the club i think this is way overboard.
-
Like i said, if true it is excellant news but massively overhyped by the club.....
-
SSN have confirmed it is about Lampard have they?
-
Lol, i am 95% sure it is Lampard..... But, i have to say i have never seen a contract extension built up in this way before for any club anywhere, no matter who the player is.
-
Buck thinks we will enjoy this announcement?? Hmmm, can't help thinking it will look a bit silly to announce Lampard contract extention with all this surrounding it. Chelsea massively building it up, even Bruce Buck getting in on the act!
-
I am convinced that to sign Robinho or Kaka would be amazing and as such isn't likely to happen! Frank signing is excellant news but i would be suprised of the club building it up so much considering how it has all gone on, announcing with a massive fanfare that Frank has succeeded in pulling the clubs pants down over a new contact! And then a 30 minute interview with Frank telling everyone that he never wanted to leave ect....
