Still a lot of training between now and this game, and i am not sure still what side Scolari will consider his best 11? Drogba and Kalou will definately be unavailable for this game so i would assume that Anelka will start with Joe Cole and Malouda. And then pick 3 out of the 5 world class midfielders we have
-
A very nice way to end Pre Season. Milan were very poor and missing plenty of players. But saying that we still played very well and completely controlled the play. Some terrible goalkeeping gifting us a couple of goals but you have to give massive credit to Anelka for putting away 4 goals in this one. Hope Anelka can carry that form into the Pompey game because we will need him to without Drogba available for sure now.

Watching the Milan v Sevilla match the one thing that stands out is that this is a "proper" game of football. I think we can expect the same from our game against Lokomotiv later on, quite a step up from the games we play in China and Malaysia....
-
Well Scolari won't do it just for the sake of it. The players have still got to be of a high enough standard and impress him enough to warrant that chance!!
-
Like i said, his main problem is that he tends to "dissapear" from games. He has all the tools to be an excellant winger for us, speed, skill and his finishing is top class - he needs playing time in the top flight to improve, hopefully he will get that this season.
-
The tribunal system is a tough one for the clubs down the divisions. That being said how do you put a price tag on potential? How much should they get ect? This will be his third season involved with the first team and he really does now need to have a go at getting more starts. Hopefully he will make plenty of sub appearances this season which will certainly help.
-
Time for him to really step up now, when he came on against Malaysia he looked up for it. He needs to show more of that mentality because he has tended to in the past dissapear in games, he needs to force himself onto games and he will get his chances.
-
Kenyon seems very confident of landing Robinho. Madrid looking to find a replacement, and with them linked to Van Der Vaart, David Villa and the likes hopefully we will get this one sorted soon.
-
A suprising link and we do not need another attacking mid. If any players are to come in it will be winger/striker.......
-
It was interesting to hear Scolari talking the other day of Wing Backs. He wants his Full Backs to get forward as often as possible and act as wingers. Thankfully we have the players in Ashley Cole, Wayne Bridge and Jose Bosingwa to do this but Ferreira is not quite as good at it. Seeing this in action against quality opposition will be interesting because the threat of counter attack behind is greater. This game today is going to be very interesting for many reasons but i think the main one is that Scolari is going to show us what he has in mind for Pompey. Would be suprised to see the likes of Di Santo and Sinclair involved with this one as he has said he only wants to use 4 or 5 subs for this one.

The ammount of apologys we have had from the papers over the last few years is verging on ridiculous, just goes to show though how much garbage the press will print...

Having joined up late with the squad after international duty, Scott Sinclair is making up for lost time. The 19-year-old missed the first few days of our Asia tour due to being a part of the England under-19 squad for the European Championships, but is delighted to be back among his club team-mates, and picking up some new skills. In training and matches to date, new signing Deco has been impressing players, staff and supporters with his instinctive, smart play and his abilities have not gone unnoticed with the youngster. 'Obviously he is a world class player and coming in and training with him is wicked, and it is every youngster's dream to play with these players,' Sinclair said. 'Being at Chelsea is a fantastic thing, not just for me but all the young players to learn from these amazing talents. Even if you don't make it you can go elsewhere and say that you learned from the best.' Making it is exactly what is expected of the winger, who made seven appearances last season, scoring his first Chelsea goal away at Hull in the Carling Cup. He explains that his aims this season are to continue with that progress, and push a little harder for a regular slot. 'This season I would like to get as many games as possible, obviously I had a few last season and in the reserves, went on loan and I would like to get a few more this time around,' he said. He took his first steps towards that with a sub appearance against a Malaysian XI in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, and afterwards discussed the message given to him from his new manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari. 'All he said was "good luck, all the best", because it was my first game under him. I was buzzing and couldn't wait to get out there. 'Obviously he is a great manager, you can see that from his record and hopefully I can do things right to impress him, and get more games this season,' the winger said. Like Michael Ballack, Sinclair joined up late with the squad after prolonged international duty, but unlike the German who had enjoyed some holiday after Euro 2008, Sinclair came straight from England's under-19 squad, and could demonstrate a high level of match fitness already. 'We met up a week before the tournament with England and did a lot of fitness work at the hotel, and then some game-specific moves, so I am well up to speed on my fitness already,' he explained. 'The first day with the lads in the heat and humidity of China killed me though, and I was a bit jetlagged, but now I'm getting into it. 'This year is very different from last year in LA, different cultures and experiences, there's so much going on, but we are all getting on with it as one of the things we have to do before the season to ready ourselves for the competitions.' After Chelsea's disappointments last season, and then missing out on play-off promotion while on loan with Crystal Palace, Sinclair has already suffered a little heartache this time around, having been knocked out in the group stages with England. 'It was disappointing because the Euros didn't go too well with the under-19s and I just wanted to come and meet up and get playing again. I didn't play too much and we didn't make it through the group stages, when we should have done with a strong group,' he admitted. Now Sinclair is hoping there will be no further setbacks, and that his involvement will continue into the Russian Railways Cup when we meet Lokomotiv Moscow on Friday. A full preview of the tournament will be appearing here on chelseafc.com on Thursday morning. Source: Chelsea FC

That is as it should be as well, winning has to come first. But you can tell from Scolari's style that the football will be more positive than we have been used to and with Deco's arrival we will see more creativity. Hopefully we can add Robinho because he is another who will add another dimention to our play. Conflicting reports this morning about him, some that he will accept a new deal from Madrid and others saying he will come as Ronaldo is close to moving to Madrid. The way i see it and the way i hope it is also is that Robinho feels under-appreciated by Real Madrid and with the whole Ronaldo saga wants to leave and likes the idea of linking up with Scolari. I think Madrid are now holding out to see how much they can get - hopefully we can get this done and dusted before the start of the season.

It's all utter garbage to appease the fans, and no-one does it better than the Scouse vermin, every c**t that joins them has supported them even before they were born! Most of the time it is complete shite.......
-
About time we gave you Kenyons job i think Should be an interesting game anyway. Hopefully we will come away with a decent result and a good performance.
-
Sevilla and AC Milan play before us. And then the final and 3rd/4th place games take place on the Sunday. This is going to be the most interesting game so far, Scolari will set up for this game with Pompey in mind. Also will be a very tough test for the players and hopefully we will get AC Milan in the last game to really test us. Then there is a long wait for the start of the season.

Fantastic film. The new Batman films have been incredible, the realism and darkness in them compared to the slapstick family versions of the previous Batman films makes them stand out even more. All the parts in the film are perfectly cast. Everyone will remember this film for Heath Ledger and it is without doubt his best performance and he completely got the Joker 100%, if you wasn't told it was Heath playing him i don't think you could guess. However if he does pick up an Oscar for the performance it is only because he died, as good as his performance is there is no way on earth he would have had a chance for an Oscar otherwise. Even if you have never liked any of the Batman films before you should see this one as just a stand alone film it is pure quality.

Possibly, depends on how high he rate Simao! Quaresma certainly wouldn't be a main choice, but i would feel he would be an improvement to what we currently have. But at the moment it seems it is down to Robinho or stick with what we have. Although i think the club are confident of getting Robinho
-
Simao on the other side, but i believe he is very one sided much like SWP and doesn't tend to play on the other side. (Of course i could be wrong on that one)
-
Done deal according to Man City website. Another nice but of business for us.. Just Pizarro and Belletti to offload now.
-
Kept out by Ronaldo. So you can't jusge him too harshly on the fact he isn't in the starting 11..
-
I would at a guess say that Scolari's likely prefered line up would be something like: ..............................Cech........................ Bosingwa......Carvalho....Terry........A.Cole ...........................Essien.......................... ...............Lampard........Ballack................. ...........................Deco............................ ...............Drogba...........Anelka................ If everyone fully fit.
-
Lol. Now i think you will have form a line behind all the other fans willing to take him as well......
-
I see no reason why the Robinho deal won't go through, as Stamford said comments so far are for the Madrid fans benefit, Madrid players have been saying that Robinho seems unhappy and i think it will happen in time. However if it doesn't happen then i have a feeling that Scolari will stick with what he has...
-
Lol, think i will join you! It does sound like it is edging closer now. Calderon covering his back now saying to the fans of Madrid who obviously like Robinho that they will not let him go out of choice, they will let him go because he WANTS to leave!
