Falcao won't leave Athletico in January, so we should stop thinking about signing Falcao in January. Who are the other strikers you would want Chelsea to sign ? 1) David Villa 2) Andre Schurrle 3) Bafetimbi Gomis 4) Wilfried Bony 5) Others

RAFA BENITEZ is in line to land the Chelsea manager’s job permanently. The news will shock fans who have slated the ex-Liverpool boss since he took charge last month. But sources inside Stamford Bridge’s corridors of power say the Spaniard is on course to become ‘Rafa the Gaffer’ full-time after some superb results. Owner Roman Abramovich has been impressed with Blues’ six wins in their last seven games, in which they hit 26 goals and reached the Capital One Cup semi-finals. Benitez, 52, has even helped £50million flop Fernando Torres rediscover his golden touch withseven goals in seven games. Events outside SW6 have also strengthened the position of Benitez, originally only brought in until the end of the season. Chelsea’s top target Pep Guardiola is being linkedwith a return to Barcelona after his year-long sabbatical. Current boss Tito Vilanova has cancer and there are fears about his long-term future. Jose Mourinho is also unlikely to return to Chelsea and is set to go to Manchester United, Manchester City or Paris St-Germain when he quits Real Madrid this summer. Frank Lampard was informed before the Aston Villa game to find another club in the January transfer window.

The chance of becoming Champion of the World comes only once in a while. We wasted it today, with all "old guard" leaving club in future, it could be great reward for their time spent at Chelsea, but no, we lost the game and there are no excuses. Corinthians showed more passion and willingness to win this final. I salute and congratulate to them. Well deserved! #KTBFFH

Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has written an open letter to the club's fans pledging to do all he can to bring success to the Stamford Bridge side. Benitez has endured a testing baptism to his time in the Blues hot-seat&has been jeered by the supporters unhappy with his appointment in the wake of Roberto Di Matteo's sacking. The former Liverpool boss saw his new charges claim their 1st Premier League win under his tenure at the 4th attempt vs Sunderland on Saturday just days after their Champions League defence was brought to a shuddering halt at the group stage. The Spaniard has highlighted the relentless schedule of matches since his appointment, with the Sunderland game their 5th in a fortnight,&was keen to pay tribute to the Chelsea fans who have been in touch to offer their support. Benitez told his personal website: "From the moment I accepted the offer to join Chelsea,my team&I have worked towards improving the results&getting the wins that we all want - no matter what hours we have to put in&the effort&sacrifice in order to achieve this. "As you can imagine from what you may have seen,we have been immersed in the tasks ahead&since the change in my work situation it has been a cycle of training&matches with virtually no time to do anything else. "My official presentation as Chelsea manger took place on Thursday November 21&I came straight from Abu Dhabi where I was giving a lecture. We literally walked straight off the plane into running my 1st training session in Cobham. After 2 sessions we faced my 1st match in charge vs Man City&then just a further 2 sessions before facing Fulham in a local derby. "2 massive league commitments in just 3days. We had a couple of conditioning workouts with referrals&then another London derby vs West Ham United. We rested on Sunday&then the same timetable again,Nordsjaelland&then Sunderland. "The team's win against the Danish side (6-1) was the biggest home win of the season for Chelsea but was not enough for us to progress in the competition. The results of previous matches of the group stage&the results that occurred on the night in other games left us without options. We would have liked to be able to offer our fans another ending to this story,to offer our fans another Champions League win but we now look forward to the Europa League. "We are now challenged with the Club World Championship in Japan&it will not be easy - I tell you this from the experience of 2 previous participations with differing results. This team is willing to give everything to try&return with a new title to bring home to the fans. "But let's get back to why I am writing this letter&the basic purpose of trying to give a full account of my new situation&feelings before I seize this exciting new challenge of coaching at Chelsea FC. It is on that basis of the challenge I accepted the offer that was made. With the same faith, the same honesty, with the same loyalty&dedication I put into each of my previous projects. "That said, thank you all for your support,to those who have sent messages,emails,letters... To those who have called, who have tried to contact by any means possible... To all,I sincerely thank you for your support. We're going to Japan right now to fight for the FIFA

Drogba has given a special dinner and also bought Superbowl-style rings for former Chelsea team-mates out of his own pocket, estimated cost £800k. #Legend Didier Drogba with Former Chelsea team-mates with their Champions League commemorative rings, given by Drogba at a Special Champions League party! #Legends Petr Cech, Juan Mata and Fernando Torres were not present at the Special Dinner given by Didier Drogba. I don't know the reason why Cech and Mata were not present, but i guess Torres was not present because its his son's birthday today and he might be busy! And according to various sources, Didier Drogba is going to Leo Torres's party after the Special Dinner.

There are Slovenian subtitles Shakhtar player: We're optimistic about this match. It doesn't matter what kind of game it will be tommorow, everyone thinks we're in 16 teams which qualified, but we will walk on the pitch to win, because we play at home and our fans will support us. Juve manager: We must win this game, because it's really important game for us, especially for me. It's clear. We will play attacking from first minutes. Although Shakhtar already is in 16 qualified teams, but they won't let us win easily.

Although it was 0-0 this match, I'm not so dissapointed as I expected me to be. We can clearly see big improvements in our defence. Defence, even without Terry looks surprisingly good. David Luiz showed today that he can be serious about defending and this is a big milestone in his career. Ivanovic, Azpilicueta and Cole were all brilliant and have done some crucial tackles to keep our net empty. Our midfield look okay, I still think we need to bring another pivot player, but I can't blame either Mikel or Ramires for anything today. They both made really nice interceptions during the match. Our magic trio of Mata, Hazard and Oscar didn't look so well today, I think those tree, especially Mata are just tired. But who can blame them, they played so much time this season, they clearly need a rest. Torres looked really motivated today and had couple of good chances. He showed passion and will to score, but City played really defensively and it would be really hard for anyone to score (maybe one chance could be used, but nothing more). Other than that, I have nothing to say about this game. Man of the match is Cech without any doubts, because he again showed, why he is top class goalkeeper. And please take into the count, that it's really hard for Rafa. It isn't his fault that Abramovich sacked Di Matteo really. If you don't want to support him, okay, don't. But please, just don't boo him. It's really not good. #KTBFFH

I never said anything about Rafa being ugly or fat (this isn't important in football). We're not modeling agency. I just said that I won't support Rafa and I don't have respect him and that's my opinion and I will write it because this is forum, where you can say your opinions.

So we've turned this club upside down for Torres, we've even now signed a manager that's hated by most Chelsea fans. You have no my support Benitez. I hope fans will boycote games, to show Abramovich that he must take us in count too, not only his idiotic and absurd goals.

What a depressing day to be a Chelsea fan... One of the worst days.

Thought I would let everyone have their say first but lets be honest are we that shocked? It was obvious with the time it took Roman and the board to give Robbie the job in the summer that he was not their main man, and I suspect they had someone else lined up but knew the backlash they would get if they didn't give him a chance. I believe the brilliant start to the season has forced Roman and the board to believe that the team was already where he wanted them to be but I always had my doubts. So the board think we are there and then some bad results come and we look poor again so they believe its time for a change in manager because that is what has worked for the club in the past. Sad thing is there is NO way we will complete this transition with short term commitments. It's quite clear Guardiola is the man Roman wants but if he stands by his word and has a year out then the next manager will just be a temp so you can rule out Redknapp (thank fuck as i hate him with a passion). I can take it when the club are the most hated around that doesn't bother me but when we are a laughing stock that is when it hurts me. I hope the fans sing Robbies name loud and proud on Sunday and as frustrating as it is supporting this football club at times i'll be glued to the TV again Sunday filling myself with hope like I do week in week out. Good luck to legend in true meaning of the word that Robbie is, I will always remember him as the manager who made our dreams come true. P.S.: I have had enough of Torres, three great managers have been already sacked, because of that cunt. Sell him as soon as possible! What do you want to prove Roman, that he isn't failure? He is. Don't try to prove something you can't.

Well I don't know if I'm the only one, but he showed his will to play and fight yesterday. He just can't dribble past 3 players which are covering him and that's his problem.
