with pogba gone (i think RM will go all out for him), reus should be our no.1 target. specially if we are thinking of buying greizemann for 44mil.

does not effect it in anyway, for now. infact england is still 2nd (ahead of germany by about a point). the difference between england and italy is a little less than 10 and would not be affected in anyway. but... in 10-11 (the first year of the 5 years of counting period), england had a 3 point lead over germany and 7 point lead over italy. so for the next season, 10-11 will be replaced with 15-16, so if english teams perform in the same manner like this year, england would definitely fall to 4th.

i am saving this. a lot of the posters are going to make an argument that willian had a poor season cos of his assists/goals which cant be farther away from the truth.

greizemann, koke, pogba, kondogbia, varane, godin, lacazette, benteke some really good names being thrown out their. this window seems to be very different from the previous one. the last one seemed so obvious. everyone knew we wanted a ST, LB, CM. ST and LB were almost sureshot since may itself. only doubt was CM and we got lucky with cesc and pounced on the oppurtunity. this window is about building the squad. adding depth, while keeping the class consistent too. would be very interesting to see what we have planned. for me the priorities for different positions would be: 1. CM - koke/pogba/alcantara/schneiderlein(last resort) 2. AM - reus/bale/greizemann (still very unsure about him if he actually fits in as a RW) 3. 2nd GK - please no rob green. for god's sake, no green!!!! 4. CB - with GC hitting form and zouma performing like a star whenever given half an oppurtunity, think we dont need a CB right now. have a few on loan too like kalas and omerou. 5. strikers - costa and remy are 2 very good strikers. buying someone like lacazette/benteke for 20+mil seems such a waste of money considering the amount of time they would get to make an impact. this extra 20+mil would be better spent in trying to get reus instead of greizemann. plus, i would love it if the 3rd striker role went to bamford. the guy deserves his chance.

probably a 100 and yet still better than green. atleast we wont have to pay for mediocrity if we go for freidel. john ruddy, begovic (like someone said, give them moses and take in begovic), diego lopez. thats the point with defenders and goal keepers. you can make 10 great saves/blocks but you will be judged on that one moment of lapse of concentration/stupidity. a goal changes everything in a football match.

a goalkeeping backup is very important. basically decides our fate in 2 domestic competitions. if we are playing soton/swansea/everton away in a league cup/fa cup match, this guy does not fill you up with confidence, does he. courtois is still young, had a minor blip this season and was replaced by cech for a couple of matches, would you even consider doing that if green was our 2nd GK. i definitely wont.

so after judging koke off one match against RM, people are now judging pogba on one match against RM.. guess we never learn... anyways, this is a useless thread now. will end up at RM itself after all they went trophyless this season and would want to make their normal "marquee" signing. pogba fits the bill perfectly. he will end up at RM.

mistakes are made but not when you are fighting for your life, and at that moment, qpr were fighting for their lives. i dont know how much that one point would have made a difference but you just never know in football. one game, 8 year old. then there are mistakes after mistakes. remember the goal in WC. he is just not worth it. there are much much better options out there. diego lopez definitely is one of them. brad freidel can be got for free. but green is definitely not the answer.

why should there be. he is 31 and has a year left on his contract. like our policy for other 30+ year olds, he should be on a year rolling contract based on what the management or the board wants.

uefa loves lame. specially when they get a fine of 50mil, by which they can fill their own coffers, why should they care about transfer bans.

how much would people evaluate muller for? i think he definitely is world class. brilliant goal scorer, brilliant ALL ROUND PLAYER, first touch, workrate, speed, defending, headers and most importantly , mentally one of the strongest players out there. if pogba is worth 70mil or koke is worth 44mil, muller should be about the same value if not higher.

why do we need more HG spots? squad GK - courtois, lopez, blackman(HG) Defenders - JT (HG), varane, zouma (U-21), luis, iva, azpi, (U-21), (U-21) CM/DMs - matic, cesc(HG), rambo/newDM, mikel/newDM, RLC(HG) AMs - hazard, willian, oscar, cuadrado, bale/reus, U-21 Strikers - costa, remy, newST. 8 spots done. and this is the worst case scenario that we buy a new ST, 2new CM/DMs, 1 new AM, and replace GC(HG player) with varane. the 2nd keeper spot is not a joke that we should be buying green to replace CECH. remember the years of having trollbull and hilarious as replacement. a small injury to cech had all of us hyperventalating.

what is the probability that messi, suarez and neymar all 3 have a bad day together. i mean messi is the best player in the world and suarez and neymar feature in the top10 lists, they are so good that they will produce a moment of magic even if they are playing poorly, thats their standard.

not at all happy with this transfer. this guy is a decent shot stopper but a perennial LOSER. he finds ways to lose. qpr were defending so well and he goes on to give the ball to hazard. not the guy we need/want. we have a bunch of HG/U-21 players - blackman/3rd GK, christensen/4thCB, ake/4th Full back, RLC/5th CM, 5th AM, 6th AM, JT, GC, cesc. if we are so adamant about getting HG players, get moses and make him the 5th AM or make bamford the 3rd ST, but rob green SHOULD NOT be our 2nd choice GK. need to get someone better.

as much as i love iva, even this transfer seems to have stemmed from iva "undroppable" status. if azpi had been given a real shot at RB, i have no doubt he would have replaced iva there and made way for bertrand to play more. by the way where is TOPTB. someone cancel his ban. apparently ryan was nothing more than a relegation to bottom table team player. some of the opinions on here are just too awesome to read.
