good luck to him. hope he can do as good as what nat did in his stint with watford.

hull city - 2 goals villa - 2 goals united - 0 goals everton - 0 goals 4 goals in 4 matches. u dont win matches without scoring goals and its not like we have kept 4 clean sheets in those four matches due to oscar's defensive prowess, right? we want to play a possession based brand of football. who is the best player in making us capable in doing so - JUAN MATA. is he perfect? hell no. but he is the best we have got. we will have to sacrifice somewhere and i would rather that it be with us trying to score goals rather than looking at a player's defensive contribution. also pro and cons list is very poor idea to compare these 2. if u actually want to compare then bring out the stats, the goals scored and assisted, chances made per match, crucial matches per match etc etc... that would give a much clearer picture of who should be our first priority. otherwise u can just watch chelsea playing with mata and without mata, and u will know the difference that mata creates in the team. he is the soul of the team and the most important player.

i am always nice...

nothing on this guy yet??

please put me on your ignore list if u feel anything is annoying instead of bugging people.

in his 38 appearances for wba, he scored 17 goals, assissted 4. wba finished 8th out 20 team. that too in PL. kdb in his 34 appearances for werder bremen, scored 10 assissted 10. werder finished 14th out of 18 teams. yet somehow lukaku is not ready for us despite having the most hopeless strike force but kdb is a messiah despite having the likes of mata, oscar, hazard, moses, and buying schurlle and willian. now i have got nothing against kdb and he has seemed a real good player of what i have seen of him so far, but i simply dont understand what people mean when they say "lukaku is not ready." i mean how? sure if we had bought rooney and had torres as backup then loaning him would be understandable, but how does loaning our best striker out of the current crop help us? simply perplexing.
-
oh dear... u r in for a rough ride... rule no. 1 on this forum is luiz and hazard are untouchable. any criticism about them will be dealt very harshly. so best of luck.
-
i know, but by my statement u can understand my confidence in the team. u know what, i simply cant see us score. i mean where are the goals going to come from? hazard is out of form, mata is out of favour, the striker force is (there is no word that is bad enough in the english vocabuary to describe our striker force). meanwhile cole keeps on starting games and performing abysmally. i expect taraabt to absolutely own him tomorrow, and add to it bent (i would start him if i was martin jol), i would say fulham will be more than a handful. i dont expect a win tomorrow. but a draw would be fine with me.
-
i hope we atleast get a point. with the manchester derby, tottenham playing away to cardiff, arsenal hosting stoke and liverpoo hosting southampton, atleast 3/4 of these teams will drop points.
-
care to elaborate?
-
cahill was marking streller, who gets ahead of him and scores a brilliant goal on the near post on a ball which should have been dealt with etoo on the near post by the way. mata loses the actual ball which resulted in the corner. but if any1 even dare mention, what luiz did against everton, he gets called names. lmao.... i can only imagine the melt down on this forum if cahill had made the same amount of mistakes luiz had made in the everton goal.

there is a reason why i feel things wont change. last season, we dint have any options. the onus was on mata and hazard (mainly) to be our heart and soul. the team was far more settled with each and every player knowing their role. moses put in a decent shift whenever needed etc etc. right now, their seems to be no spine to the team which is very strange as mou has been with us for 3 months(?). u would expect him to know how to play and who to play and all that jazz. i know things are not always ideal, but we have been BAD/PATHETIC. hull city- 15 minutes of goos football, after that absolutely nothing. aston villa - on another day, we would have lost the match. no way did we deserve to win it. man u, bayern- lets not even go there. everton - good performance, but not the first time we have been done due to our finishing. basel - uninspired, un-motivated, and horrible performance. so its not just one thing that has to be tackled with. the defence looks in shambles everytime we try to play the possession game. the midfield is uncreative, the bulid up is slow. the strikers are .... these same problems were their last season and yet nothing has been done to improve it,
-
how are we 2 points worse? because hazard played a ball into the box which led to an own goal? maybe we would be 4 points ahead if we had someone who performed better against united and everton. anyways this is a mata-thread. and i for one have no qualms that mata is our starter. he gives us that extra bit of control and way more creativity.
-
i was thinking the same thing. but just change the award from overreaction to a@@.
-
i am a realist. positive and negative is not what i bother with. for eg- look at the post no. 213. look at the timings. http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/16777-chelsea-v-basel/?p=765736 but if you want me to blindly say that we are gonna win every match, that is not gonna happen.
-
yup, but i am sure we will bounce back in the pre-season of 2014-15.
-
so after this match, we ll officially be having an early season slump, which would soon be followed by a winter-slump.
-
bustling a lung? seriously. salah could have put basel on the scoresheet twice in the first half itself. cole was getting his ass kicked (in both the everton and yesterday match) with absolutely no help from hazard. our best player on the pitch had to play either deep or shifted to the wing because hazard wanted to play central, even neville commented on that part during the match. hazard waltzed into the team and look what has happened because of playing an injured hazard ahead of better deserving players.
-
precisely. this team CAN NOT grind out results. away result are all about it. what is worse is people cant seem to accept the reality. they are all still in their la-la-la land where everything is perfect and defences will open to let us score without much hustle. honestly speaking things are looking bad for us. worst thing is that we play basel on matchday 5, after playing a home and away fixture to schalke while basel would have played bucuresti twice. by that point i expect basel to be top of the group or in a really good position to qualify. the pressure would be totally on chelsea, having played schalke (i expect 3 points each for the teams in those matches) in the double header and would be something like what happened last year, against juve. this year we will probably be needing an away win at basel to qualify. simply cant see that happen especially since we will be in out annual winter-slump mode. its upto basel to choke now. i for one will be rooting schalke to beat them in the next match.
-
oh please... dont start with this complete player thing. hazard had lost the ball 10-15 times individually in each of everton and basel game and most of the time he just did a torres (lying on the floor and waving your hands at the ref). infact during the everton match, hazard got so frustrated by his lack of involvement that after getting dis-possessed AGAIN by naismith, he fouled naismith right at the edge of the box, got a yellow card and baines almost scored. the aston villa goal was LUCKY and if u want to give the credit to any1, then it should be oscar who played hazard thru. for the hull first goal, all he did was pass the ball to a totally free kdb at the edge of the box, if that is counted as a key pass, then his standards have been lowered than i checked the last time. i agree that bringing on mata was a poor decision, but my point is, mata should still be a starter.
-
how has hazard been better than mata? 6 matches - 1 goal and that was a blunder by manuel. other than that, got owned to valencia/jones in the united match, got owned by naismith/coleman in the everton match and yesterday was simply pathetic. as for mata, our everton performance was more than just a cautionary tale. even though we were losing 1-0 till the 55th minute, we had created a buckload of chances. as soon as he was taken off, we dint create a single oppurtunity to score a goal for the last 30 odd minutes.not just that, we lost any and all control of the match. last night, we were so toothless in the attack that it was pathetic sometimes. we had a lot a of possession but absolutely no penetration. mata is a must for this team. he is our heart and soul in the attack. every1 plays better when he is on the pitch (especially hazard).
-
oh my god!!! if that prediction comes right then u should be named a pundit. my prediction - our striker wont have a shot on goal.
-
i really dont need to validate my support to my club thru u.
-
so i am not supporting? or does supporting mean to simply say, i think we ll end up with 15 points in the CL and then butt-fuck RM, barca and bayern in CL. also i think we ll finish with 109 points in PL and win COC and FA cup. and now according to your logic i am the best fan ever, right? supporting a club means accepting all that is wrong, bad along with the awesome and the good. i do that, instead of being delusional.

one competitive game and 7 pre-season games give a fair indication of how jose sees him. he has not used mvg as the attacking pivoter in any of the games. that should be a pretty clear indicator towards his "goal threat". i would like to have jose's word over urs.
