precisely. this team CAN NOT grind out results. away result are all about it. what is worse is people cant seem to accept the reality. they are all still in their la-la-la land where everything is perfect and defences will open to let us score without much hustle. honestly speaking things are looking bad for us. worst thing is that we play basel on matchday 5, after playing a home and away fixture to schalke while basel would have played bucuresti twice. by that point i expect basel to be top of the group or in a really good position to qualify. the pressure would be totally on chelsea, having played schalke (i expect 3 points each for the teams in those matches) in the double header and would be something like what happened last year, against juve. this year we will probably be needing an away win at basel to qualify. simply cant see that happen especially since we will be in out annual winter-slump mode. its upto basel to choke now. i for one will be rooting schalke to beat them in the next match.

oh please... dont start with this complete player thing. hazard had lost the ball 10-15 times individually in each of everton and basel game and most of the time he just did a torres (lying on the floor and waving your hands at the ref). infact during the everton match, hazard got so frustrated by his lack of involvement that after getting dis-possessed AGAIN by naismith, he fouled naismith right at the edge of the box, got a yellow card and baines almost scored. the aston villa goal was LUCKY and if u want to give the credit to any1, then it should be oscar who played hazard thru. for the hull first goal, all he did was pass the ball to a totally free kdb at the edge of the box, if that is counted as a key pass, then his standards have been lowered than i checked the last time. i agree that bringing on mata was a poor decision, but my point is, mata should still be a starter.

how has hazard been better than mata? 6 matches - 1 goal and that was a blunder by manuel. other than that, got owned to valencia/jones in the united match, got owned by naismith/coleman in the everton match and yesterday was simply pathetic. as for mata, our everton performance was more than just a cautionary tale. even though we were losing 1-0 till the 55th minute, we had created a buckload of chances. as soon as he was taken off, we dint create a single oppurtunity to score a goal for the last 30 odd minutes.not just that, we lost any and all control of the match. last night, we were so toothless in the attack that it was pathetic sometimes. we had a lot a of possession but absolutely no penetration. mata is a must for this team. he is our heart and soul in the attack. every1 plays better when he is on the pitch (especially hazard).

oh my god!!! if that prediction comes right then u should be named a pundit. my prediction - our striker wont have a shot on goal.

one competitive game and 7 pre-season games give a fair indication of how jose sees him. he has not used mvg as the attacking pivoter in any of the games. that should be a pretty clear indicator towards his "goal threat". i would like to have jose's word over urs.

what else do u expect out of TOPTB? i would have been suprised if this was the first time he had shown that attitude.

oh i forgot. chelsea win matches just because TOPTB supports them no matter what. seems like u r having an off day and just wanna vent your frustration. first in the mou thread and now here. just trying to wind different people and trolling everywhere,,, right? as for our CL campaign, i am not saying anything that is not possible. i can see us winning against schalke no matter what (in germany), we have already lost to steau (or whatever they are spelled), and have been outplayed by them for 135 minutes out of 180. as for the basel away game, things are not looking rosy., right?

well mvg would not be better in attacking tham lamps/rambo/essien because whenever he was deployed in the pivot with any of these names, it was mvg who was the DM. thats goes to say a lot about his attacking prowess does not it. oh anyways i forget, we just like to exaggerate every youngster that plays for us. for eg- mvg is as good a DLP as modric, right? or chalobah deserves a place in the team etc etc.. how am i judging josh on a different criteria? seen him play under ancelotti, seen him play carling cup games, even a CL game (which we won, by the way). and hence i can say he offers more than mvg.

simply cant see us winning any of the away fixtures. our "kids" simply dont have the metal to grind out an away result. we cant even do that in PL, so CL is far off. the max number of points we are getting is 9. so its upto basel to get 5 out of their remaining 4 fixtures (considering that we draw with them). so for me its europa again.

so because mikel scored awesome goals for nigeria going past 3 defenders and all, i am supposed to say he is a goal threat? mvg is played as a DM here. for CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB, mvg is no goal threat. jose is using him in that sense. josh on the other hand is far better attacking option and will be used as such. my view is not misguided at all. its only fair. precisely my point. mikel may be great for nigeria but he has barely shown a thread of his "attacking prowess" for us. i have not seen mvg outside of chelsea, but off the 7 pre-season games , 5 min subs and yesterday's match, it safe to assume he is not much of a goal threat for us and is being used as such.

i have seen josh play for middlesborough, and for chelsea when he was 17. josh even at that age offered far more goal threat than mvg. mvg is more physical and a better cm for a pivot, but it seems so unfair on josh to say that he offers lesser goal threat than a player who must have put in about 10% of his passes in the forward direction, had a touch so bad in the last and only match that he could have been yellowed twice while trying to get the ball back. does that explain it? to say mvg offers more goal threat than josh is criminal because mvg offers NO THREAT. he dint in any of the pre-season matches, or his 5 min sub performance or yesterday. meanwhile i remember josh controlling the tempo of one of his only games in pre-season and completely bossed in his short performance.

i seriously cant see us winnig this. i mean can we score more than 1 goal without mata - NO. can we keep a clean sheet with luiz and cole in the back four - NO. do fulham cos us a problem - YES. do the players have the character and the steel to stand up and make things right like the chelsea of old - HELL, NO.

brilliant work-rate. always available as an option on the wing. took a couple of really good runs and seemed to be one of the best "attacking" threats. defensively was awesome. but really needs to stop putting the low crosses. by now even our strikers have lost hope that they can actually score and no one even makes a run. should just try and run to the by-line and try to get a corner from the next match. :sigh:

i would be happy if these things happen in this match 1. chelsea dont lose 2. mata gets 90 minutes. 3. azpi and bertrand start. 4. hazard is benched. 5. our striker actually has a shot on goal.

and yet people have no problem with hazard playing 90 minutes in every match.

What a fucking performance. What a fucking shambolic, sickening, mind-fucking performance. What has happened to THE CHELSEA. Lets start with the HERO of tonight EDEN FUCKING HAZARD. What a BALLON D’OR winning performance from him. What the fuck does he think this is? A bloody fucking pre-season match!!! Or did he think he had come to take a bloody stroll in the park? Its time he is DROPPED, made to sit on the bench till he actually gets an urge to fight for the team and fight for his place. And please don’t tell me that I am exaggerating. 6-7 pre-season matches, and now its been 6 matches in to the season and he has been downright PATHETIC, DISGRACEFUL. Who the fuck does he think he is? Cristiano Ronaldo??? The reason we were so ineffective in the first half was because hazard came central which pushed Oscar wide. And then he kept losing the ball trying to go past the whole basel team. Just fucking stay on the wing and do your bloody job. If you are unable to get past your man then just pass the bloody ball to another fucking player. As for the performance jose has to take the fall. No excuses. The player seem un-motivated, dis-interested, and while we thought that having a big squad will make them fight for their place, the players’ attitude has been utterly shambolic. Why was mata sent in with a 1-0 lead. It was so fucking obvious that we were going to concede if our defence and mid was not shored up and still, he took out willian who was atleast providing cover for iva unlike the great hazard, and put in mata who seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else except for Stamford bridge. Lost the ball which led to the goal and was completely un-influential. Another thing is the tactic we are using of attacking with our fullbacks. For me ivanovic was the man of the match, for his brilliant work-rate, defence and contribution to the attack, but why do we need our full-backs to attack when we have so much creativity in the team. Why cant the likes of willian and hazard just stay on the wings, stretch the defence rather than going central and using iva and cole to provide width. And while I am on this subject lets talk about COLE. Has lost half his pace Is useless in an attack Slows the game down immensely with his mind-bogglingly stupid passes back to the center backs which gives the teams time to settle and get back into their defensive shape. I mean what the use of cole bombarding ahead and leaving space behind him for salah to run. Twice, fucking twice salah could have put basel ahead in the first half if he could have put a half-decent ball in the box and it was no fucking surprise that he scored. So why not give Bertrand a real shot. As for the season, I was expecting so much out of it, but its proving to be a DISASTER. We don’t have a goal-scorer and the only one who could have done something has been sent out on loan. The midfield 3 look clueless without mata, and we simply don’t have that cutting edge without him playing at his best. The defence is in a poor condition. The team has no identity, no character. We look worse than arsenal for fuck’s sake. Simply not looking forward to the weekend for a derby match against fulham. Expect to be disappointed again.
