  1. so citeh = WIN, arsenal = WIN. chelsea's main obejective is not to get fans convinced about themselves. we are joined 2nd in PL, topped the group in CL, QF of COC and we would have played a lot of good teams on the way to get where we are. last night, there was just one person who dint play well - MIKEL. rest put in average performance. tell me one reason why we should have gone full throttle in this match. we have arsenal, pool, swansea, soton in this month but u want our players to complicate things by trying to attack and score 5 goals or somethin. infact i dont even know what u want out of this team. like i said, last night all i wanted was a WIN, to top the group, clean sheet, and i got all of that with relative ease. i feel this team would go into every match with some expectations and tactics and all of them worked well last night.
  2. strong teams like city? arsenal? well we won both our matches and we wiped the floor with schalke who were our main opponents in the group stage. so what are u cribbing about? the doctor ordered a win, winning the group and a clean sheet. i saw all the 3 things happening, unfortunately people need to find fault in everything.
  3. its not like all we are doing is putting in unconvincing wins. whu - 3-0, one of the best performances this season soton - 3-1, should be 3-0 without the first 10 seconds and another brilliant performance. sunderland - 4-3, brilliant attacking display countered with hopeless set-piece liability. stoke - 2-3, brilliant football but hopless defending. after recent performances, we needed a steady display rather than a flamboyant one. after conceding 6 goals to 2 of the worst attacking teams in the PL, we needed to go back to the basics and do what was need-ful. this match was exactly what the doctor ordered.
  4. maybe, but for me the MAIN thing is a win. no one is going to remember how we played against stoke in 2 weeks' time, the only thing people will remember is we lost 3-2 against a team who had scored 6 goal in 7 home matches before this (i think). december is a hectic time, u need a few games like last night's where u can literally sail thru. this game was exactly that. so on the whole, i am not going to compain one bit about last night.
  5. the worst thing now is, we cant buy a good DM who is not cup-tied in CL. (witsel/benders/pogba).
  6. ribery deserves it this year, how has messi even made the 3 man shortlist after being injured 4 out of 9 months of football this year is beyond me. zlantan deserved the nomination.
  7. was flawless last night. had a brilliant game. hope he can continue this.
  8. the team would have a couple of suprises no matter what. but this would be mine schwarze iva DL JT cole lamps rambo willian oscar hazard BA any1 who expects a cake-walk is going to be in for a suprise. its a TONY pULIS side and palace have anyways earned 10 points in their last 5 game and have won 3 off the last 4 games. i expect a hard fought 2-1/3-1 win. ps - schurrle would be the first player in the history to get "dropped" after scoring 2 phenomenol goals...
  9. bro, we are very much playing a 4-2-3-1. the reason oscar is sometime on the same level as lamps is cos lamps-mikel more often than not are unable to provide any service to our 3 AMs. so oscar has to come deep to retrieve the ball and start an attack. also playing 4-2-3-1 does not mean the 2 cant go ahead. look at city for instance, yaya and fernandinho are almost as high up as nasri/navas, yet they are the deep midfielders. so our base formation IS 4-2-3-1 and definitely not a 4-3-3.
  10. dont understand the bashing we are getting here. it was a professional performance. we did what was expected of us , and that is to get a WIN. or would people like us to play as good as we did against stoke but end up losing the game. after being a goal up, the onus was on bucuresti to do the attacking and press us for the ball, they dint and we dint need to do anything else than keep the ball among ourselves. so what the hell are people cribbing about? its time for some fans to really grow up!!! schwarzer - dint have anything to do for about 80 odd minutes until bucuresti atlast had a shot on goal. still he should keep the GK spot for the next match. 7/10 iva - good performance. a couple of times he made a brilliant dash down the right only for willian to ignore him and once hazard put him thru but it was too wide for his liking. defensively it was a flawless performance. 8/10 DL-JT - brilliant performance from the 2 CBs. luiz was phenomenol. dint try anything fancy with the ball, but still put in more useful/critical balls than FL and Mikel combined, i think. defensively, too i think he was brilliant. booted everything out of the way if he was in 10% doubt and i just hope he can keep this up. JT was his usual self. 9/10 cole - had a lot to prove in this match, and i feel he did. start of the first half, he felt a little dodgy and slow and almost got caught on the ball in our own D, but i feel it was a decent performance. could have done better on a couple of occasions inside the bucuresti box. 7.5/10 mikel - horrendous. was he sleep-walking. his only role in the team would be to shield the back 4 and not give the bloody ball away when in possession but he did none of the 2. a woeful performance from our only recognized DM in the squad. high-time for a change. we need a DM in winter. no doubt. 3/10 lamps - nothing flashy. bucuresti were too deep and we in genral had no penetration for lamps to make his trademark late runs and effect the game. so attackingly he was simply left to taking 30 yard shots. defensively he was okay, put in some crunching tackles and sliding tackles. 6/10 hazard - tried hard but was double-tripled marked the enitre match. just get a feeling that he plays best with mata on the pitch. 7/10 oscar- seemed off the pace in the first half but that would be acceptable. but good closing down off the ball, good defensive work but again, those balls to break down defences from our main AM missing. 6/10 willian - the only forward/midfielder who was having an effect on the match. very dynamic, great on the ball, brilliant forward runs and movement too, but just his decision making was a little skeptical. 8/10 BA - got a goal but overall poor performance. but i would take that one goal ahead of torres' workrate and blah blah blah... could have so easily got a hat-trick. that ball from willian to find him 2 yards from the goal was orgasminc but at the same time, the miss gave me a de-erection. dint win aerial duels too and after watching DD play for GALA and again effecting the match from a mere head down of the ball. just shows u the poor-quality of strikers we have. unfortunately there is no immediate remedy and solving the problem of the mid should be our forst concern. 6/10 subs - schurrle - was okay. a bit direct but the other 10 men around him barely wanted to play so even he gave up. 6/10 rambo - does what he does best. hope mikel can learn a few things from this guy. 7/10 kdb - felt he was great in the 12-13 minuted he got. that change of play from the left wing to find hazard on the right wing was just OH MY GOD!!! some of his runs were great too. dont think he will get game time in the next match but just hope he can rip sunderland apart in the COC. 8/10
  11. agree with everything u said except for the last part. i feel willian was brillint last night. especially in the first half when oscar seemed a little off-pace and hazard was getting double or tripled marked. willian was dynamic, poppong up everywhere, chased the ball down brilliantly on a number of occasions and if his decision making in and around the box had been a little better, he could have had a couple of assists easy.
  12. if we cant beat galatasaray, then why the emoions??? we can face gala, olympiacos, zenit, leverkusen, milan. if u r so scared of gala tell me who would u want? milan? leverkusen? zenit in russia? olympioacos and gala are the best options (with all due respect) and considering the teams we can face, your pessimism is laughable.,
  13. why not??? think about the reception DD would get and the emotions...
  14. i just hope that JT does not fall down on the pitch due to tiredness...
  15. 5-0 win for the youth team... the only team in the competition to have a 100% record... phenomenol...
  16. it is written in the stars!!! DD will comeback to the BRIDGE but this time as an opponent!!! galatasaray vs chelsea in the next round!!!
  17. azpi is a full back, and by that i hope he knows how to defend and after watching him play for a month as a LB, i would not say, he cant play there. infact if u ask azpi himself, he ll say he had a bad match instead of childishly pin-pointing that he was played out of position against sir jonathan walters. so yes, wow indeed!!! JT, DL might be 5 times the player and i dont need to pay attention to the transfer market to know that. or do people like u really think andy carrol is worth 35mil!!! the defence was most solid when GC-JT. take schalke matches or man city matches or infact any match before these 2 matches. conceding 3 goals from set-pieces was not because GC-JT were not solid, the first goal against stoke was not conceded cos GC-JT were not solid. our defence has been most solid with GC-JT, stats prove that, our win% proves that and just 1 poor performance at the back would not take away performances like the ones against schalke (h&a), city, basel etc etc...
  18. what a load of bullshit!!!! conceding 3 goals in consecutive matches against the bottom feeders CAN NOT be one man's fault. conceding one goal due lapse of concentration against cardiff at home was one man's fault. every goal conceded can by analysed 100 different ways and by ifs anf buts u can literally prove that every player was at fault as the player could have been in a better position. take for instance the 2nd goal conceded. walters fouls (?) azpi, JT leaves his position to cover for azpi, leaves ireland to be covered by mikel, crouch to be covered by GC. when the ball is played into ureland, GC was doing exactly that, covering crouch, mikel could not cover ireland and we concede. for u and other luiz lovers, GC must have taken the responsibility and tried to intercept the ball or something. hence the pin-pointing is useless cos, the goals we are conceding are team mistakes and not just the result of one man's brain fart. all the other bull-shit u have written about ball-playing defenders has nothing to do with what i said, but infact just simply proves my point. luiz-lovers would go to any extent to defend him and put down GC cos they know JT is untouchable and critisizing him would be like commiting suicide. so all u guys decide to make mincemeat of GC. that is all there is to this. ps - azpi plays brilliantly against schalke (2 legs), does well in the same position for the last 5 or so league games, and all is well and dandy, but has one poor game and instead of saying that he actually had a poor game, u have the nerve of saying " that's on Mourinho I guess"... oh, the double standards!!!
  19. whoever think that "he is not ready" should just get their brains scanned.
  20. he can do us a massive favor today. MASSIVE. if arsenal win they will be 7 points clear off us before playing city and us in consecutive matches. worst case scenrio for them would be , still top of the table with 1 point. and that will be a big pyschological advantage. hope he can continue DD's legacy.
  21. GC could have done better for the 1st goal but so could have so many other players. and that is not the main point. azpilicueta had a horrendous match. he literally got owned by walters (walters for fuck sake). but no one, NOT A SINGLE PERSON has even made post/comment/quote on his thread. and now look at GC's thread, he is the new scape-goat, specially for all the luiz-fans and that troll henrique, who inspite of what might happen on the match find a way to blame GC. and that is what bothers me. GC had a bad match but he was as bad as JT/iva and better than azpi. if u want to pin-point mistakes and single out one fellow for the defeat and 3 goals that we have conceded, then do it at the team, not just GC.
  22. a lot depends on lukaku today. i hope everton can can draw today. arsenal have sme tough fixtures coming up, but going into the consecutive matches against city and chelsea with 7 points ahead will be a big pyschological advantage.
  23. very true. he should have gone onto block ireland's shot with crouch running behind him and iva playing him on. also somehow mikel and azpi's positioning does not get into the picture at all but GC's mistake is the sole reason.
  24. we need rotation. our players looked tired, hopelessly so. the backline definitely needs a rest. schwarzer bertrand cahill luiz cole mikel lamps willian oscar schurrle torres. get a win and dont rely on the schalke score please.
