  1. well, knowing costa will start regardless of injury seems to be a similar situation to falcao for someone like you. you decide the relevance of the statement. ridiculing? so telling people that jose's PC means nothing ,which if you see muzchap's reply - he agrees with, is now ridiculing. some people are just so touchy.
  2. @specialjuan - so this is fine? anyways, namecalling is just another way of showing the desperation of having no points. but like an infant, people have to be told things again and again - this year is a 3 horse race. which is more closer to 13/14 than any other season. a 3 year average is more apt cos it explains the current situation much much much better. but unfortunately, understanding simple things is too much to ask. meh.. i tried!!!
  3. hahahahha.. extrapolating united's point after 11 games irresptive of WHO they have played and comparing it to me taking the average of last 3 seasons' 4th spot finish. brilliant. i have already made you a proposition even before all this hoo-ha started. lets just wait and watch and comeback at the end of the season to see how things stand. not that hard, is it?
  4. wow, you understand jose so well. falcao and costa have the same importance for you.
  5. http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/18277-4-cesc-fabregas/?p=1173951 u should try and look up the definition of a wildcard!!! again, really not hard to understand.
  6. i expect leicester, whu to fall off. but i expect the likes of united, city, arsenal and spurs to carry on and even improve themselves as the race hots up and hence the top 4 on the higher sides. not that hard to understand.
  7. and yet he did start. and that is the point that i am making. the PC is meaningless. what jose says and what jose does are 2 different things. did not matter if costa was 50% fit or 100% fit, he was starting against pool. that is jose's mentality that most of us fans already understand. how are u not understanding this?
  8. the 4th team currently is united. the team that has played spurs, pool, soton, arsenal, everton, city and palace. 7 teams which are currently in the top half of the table and which u expect to end in the top half of the table. extrapolating and averaging at this point of time without taking into account the teams played is probably the worst way to do any averaging or prediction of any sort. but dont let it stop u. i made my prediction on averages, not only that but by how i think how the season would go and how the teams would react to being in a title race. so please, do continue.
  9. most of us on here knew that costa was going to start. really did not to watch jose to specify that. the falcao injury would have been out in the media a day or 2 later. still dont get your point. team news is never about the selection cos with jose, its more or less always the same selection, the same players irrespective of form and circumstances.
  10. we have 3 fullbacks. one gets injured and still the 3rd fullback cant get any gametime. but when baba leaves people are going to say, he did not want to fight for his "place".
  11. really? extrapolating, are we? so in short, we would reach 38.
  12. 13/14 was a 3 horse race and i have quoted 4 teams there too... the 4th spot then was 79 points. fine, suit yourself. all i am saying is that taking the average of last 3 years, it would be in and around 75 and also considering the circumstances and scenarios. i have also proposed coming back here at the end of the season.
  13. i was wrong about you harping about jose's pre-match PC before the pool game? cos thats the only thing i said about u in that post. so read before you right. as for team news - the last time jose gave away the team news in a pre-match PC would have been, well, i dont know when. the only thing he does say about are injuries which 99% of us are already aware of. so welll....
  14. its so because, that was a 3 horse race - city, pool, chelsea with arsenal close behind. last season was all about us and maybe city for a couple of weeks. this season, imo, is going to be like 13/14 with a proper 3 horse race with united, city and arsenal with spurs and pool/whu/leicester as a wildcard. and the point is that when a team sees a league title in sights even if it is very vague, they do tend to increase the level of their performances, which means, again more likely to be a 13/14 than a 10/11 or a 11/12.
  15. oh why are you taking it personally. it was not about you but some people who keep harping on about the jose and "what he said" (just like you said it was not about me). but thats the point. the PCs (both post and pre since both are actually PCs), mean NOTHING. the only thing that does mean is the performance and tactics on the pitch. 2 areas where jose has failed massively this season. tactics - rubbish, getting performances out of players - hopeless.
  16. it has not happened in the last few years compared to the previous ones, cos the trend has changed and that is the whole point of taking the last 3 years. considering the likes of city, arsenal, united and then closely followed by spurs, pool etc, i think 75 would be the minimum a team would need for top4. why dont we come at the end of the season and see who was closer. you saying 70, me saying 75. and actually see who got it right.
  17. when people try to say things like "oh, look at that pre-match. wow!! what a legend" and stuff of that nature when the team's performance on the pitch does not show anything what the manager says in the pre-match, then its hard to ignore such brilliant comments. also, see what i wrote to muzchap. its about his PCs which is press-conference. be it pre or post.
  18. in the 10-11 season, we came 2nd with 71 points. i dont think that scenario is likely to happen. i mean i would say that the probability of that happening is 1 in 1,00,000. hence i dont think taking that into consideration is relevant. hence, the data for the last 3 years which would give a better view of how things stand at present than what happened in 07.
  19. the thing about "respect" is that it is earned, not "given". its really hard to respect someone who threw a pizza on a manager who can be considered the best ever. or its really hard to respect someone who goes around spitting on legends like ballack or shoving players like lampard for no good reason. you see, fans will respect people who deserve respect. i mean look at mata. you wont see fans name calling him EVER. i mean, what exactly are fans supposed to say "cesc is a saint"? as for jose, the manager who has given us more than 50% of our league titles, i dont see anyone "namecalling" him. i can see people asking for him to take a sabbatical due to personal reasons or simply being sacked cos of the blatant mistakes that he has made.
  20. actually pressers are for the media to get their hands on some headlines. you think the jose post-match after pool was not good for the media. "i have nothing to say". hence, we will be right at the top with no competitions if the matches were won in the pressers. get your definition right instead of calling things you clearly dont understand as stupid. but dont worry, i am sure, since his presser was good last weekend, you would still be happy.
  21. its better than nothing. plus europa is a good competition for the likes of kenedy, traore, baba, RLC, etc youth players to be given the european experience in, more realistic too, cos lets face it, with jose the only way our youth is getting any game time in europe is if atleast 10 of our players are injured.
  22. exactly. realistically top 6 should be our aim.
  23. just win or lose, dont get a draw. i mean, if we win, we most probably will end up winning the group. if we lose, we will go to europa and try to win it to get to CL next season. draw would mean 2nd and getting someone like barca/bayern/RM and getting embarassed.
