What a brilliant performance this was. I couldn't believe my eyes how composed and determined we were during the whole match. We didn't let City control the game at any point and we were nearly perfect in every part of the field. If we weren't so unlucky we would have beaten them by 2 or 3 goals in their own ground. It is hard to choose just one mvp since nearly everyone was fantastic, with the exception being Ramires. I don't know if Oscar had a problem and couldn't play for 90 minutes, but i seriously believe that if we had him instead of Ramires we would have been even more dominant. I am sure Jose (who was also brilliant in how he managed this game) had his reasons for not playing Oscar but Ramires is so wasteful it is not even funny anymore. With performances like this one i am really optimistic about our future.

Well you guys have a point and i didn't want to include Eden in my post because he deserves special mention and he indeed makes key passes. If you read my initial post, it had to more with Ramires, Oscar and Wilian. But even Hazard is not someone who will base his play around passing. His style is more direct and is happy to beat his opponent/opponents with dribbling and his speed. The point that i wanted to make is that we needa couple of midfielders that will be able to distribute the ball accuretly and with speed in oder to be able to break down defences that are well setup instead of relying only on counterattacks and/or a brilliant move by Hazard.

Depends on your standards. If you want to tell me that Oscar, Willian and even Hazard are known for their worldclass passing game then ok, you are free to believe what you want. Personally i think that their passing game is average (and when i am talking passing game i don't mean pass the ball around or to the keeper, i mean KEY passes). The thing is that any top team needs balance, it is ok to have a couple of workhorses as long as you also have some technical players who can make the difference when teams park the bus agaisnt us. At the moment the strong point of the majority of our players is workrate and this is not enough if we want to go to the very top.
-
Add to what you said the fact that we are the only big club that does't have a single attacking midfielder able to pass the ball. As long as we have Ramires, Oscar and Willian playing in the same lineup we are doomed to play only with counterattacks. And like you said this is not something that is going to work if we want to become one of the elite. Those who believe that with the addition of a top striker we will dominate everything are greatly mistaken because quite simply no striker will be able to contribute much with the way we are playing.

Oh come on, what did you expect Jose to say? That he forced Mata out of the club? When Jose is talking to the media he is always trying to promote Chelsea's interest. How many times after pathetic performances he said that were very good and blamed the luck/referees? That's part of his personality.
-
I wonder when we are going to give our youth a fucking chance to prove themselves. Welcome Salah.
-
Pfff, big deal who needs that? He can't defend nor tackle. These are a playmaker's main responsibilities.
-
Mata is one of the most technical and classy players we have ever had. Even the thought of selling him to manure makes me want to smash something. I really hope that Jose is not stupid enough to agree with such a move. I still believe that he has a future with us.
-
Enes said that Kevin wasn't good for us and you answered "Only time will tell". You did't say anything about potential so you can't expect others to guess what you intented to say. So your statement was wrong afterall
-
No, not really. Time won't change the fact that he wasn't good for us. Even if he becomes a great player in the future (which is possible since he is already quite good and still young), he wouldn't have been able to achieve this here with us by rotting on the bench. I really wanted him to succeed here but the move was the right choice for both the player and the club.

Your logic is flawed in so many ways. First of all one of the reasons that i believe Shaw is the best option is his nationality and i am not even English. How does this make me a xenophobe? Chelsea is playing in the English Premier League so it is vital that we have english players. Also whether you like it or not we have to take into consideration the rule about the homegrown players. Shaw solves both of these matters. Ability wise and talent wise both are on the same level BUT Shaw already has big experience in the EPL and can walk into our first team almost immediately. You can never be sure about how long it will take for a foreign player to adapt in another country both in terms of football and life in general. Last but not least Shaw is a Chelsea supporter. This is something that you cannot buy with money and i believe that it is a big deal to have players who love the club no matter what.
-
Because Chelsea is not the same without some drama. It's in our blood.
-
Pardew apparently said to Pellegrini "Shut yours. Fucking old cunt". Let's see if he gets a ban for being racist against old people .

First of all Zenit bought Witsel for 40m euros, not pounds. Zenit also spent something like 40m pounds to buy Hulk, do you believe they will sell him for more? Anyway this kind of conversation won't lead anywhere, this thread is about Matic anyway and i just stated my opinion.
-
I haven't played FM not even once in my whole life, so your comment is a bit invalid. I don't know if Zenit needs money or not but 30-40m is a respectable amount and an offer that most teams would think about. Don't get me wrong, i am not against Matic. I like him (i didn't want him to leave in the first place) and he will be a huge upgrade to our current midfield situation but spending so much money for a player that we let go 3 years ago (practically) for peanuts seems wrong to me.
-
If we are willing to spend that kind of money i prefer we spend it for Witsel.
-
Suck at this haters

Hazzaarrrddddddddd
-
It won't be a fair fight though since Courtois doesn't have a helmet.
-
Wow, i have totally forgotten we still have the German Messi.
-
You are claiming that this was a penalty and a red card and you ask him if he is drunk?
-
I didn't know that doing the basic stuff equals to playing very well. For me he seems a bit heavy on his touches and his passing but it's understandable since he needs some time to get back to his previous form.
-
Oscar is not ready yet to play in the starting eleven.
-
What a joy it is to watch a player like Eden when he is performing like this. He was brilliant tonight. The defence on the other hand was disastrous. Only Azpil performed well from our defenders. I am sick of watching Ivan playing as a rigth back and i can't wait to see "unreliable" Luiz back in the team. No point saying anything about Torres and i was also disappointed by Willian, i don't remember a single positive contribtution from him in the entire game. Really exciting game and a decent overall performance, and like many others already said a win is a win.
-
I hope this match finally puts to rest any doubts about Mata's importance in our team. I don't give a fuck about his defending, he is the only one capable of making a decent pass/cross. If Jose wants to play Ocar at all costs then it's his job to find a way to play both of them. I also think that Ba was brilliant today. And one last thing. SIGN SHAW.
