  1. I guess he did enough to deter managers ( there have been a few) from constantly picking him. We don't know the sole reason(s) behind this and saying it's all Torres' fault is very biased. Let's just see how he does in Liverpool, his start against non-league side was impressive though.
  2. Again with you and your facts.. look up any game where he played for us.. he tried to win the Puskas award every time. Sometimes trying is not enough, isn't Torres trying? And taking on IMPOSSBILE shots when losing is very very selfish, if failing making you look like a total egoistic gloryhunter, which he has in my eyes. Even, lol, you can't deny that it's frustrating to see Luiz etc try from long way out hitting Sputniks on the way. Edit: I love the way you ignored my first part of the post directed to you.
  3. Might be best midfielder in history but history won't win us games anymore. Having respect for Lampard and his legacy is one thing, not seeing clearly that a 35 year old can't contribute week in week out anymore is something else. Financially it's best for the club to let him go unless he accepts a smaller role in the club and a massive pay cut. If he loves Chelsea so much and wants to help the club - he would do it.
  4. Why are you insulting people? They are not insulting you in any way. The fact they disagree with you isn't a reason - so grow up and learn to argument. Saying Danny looked FIVE TIMES better than Torres just shows you're very immature and not really capable of having a proper discussion on forums - and then you have the nerve to ask every single doubter of his for proofs, facts. Look buddy, noone is trying to win you over. You've got very cocky after your CL win prediction, time to get over it. Sooner or later your bubble will burst and you'll realize you don't have supernatural powers. PS. Insulting zolayes (or any other TC member in fact) is never a good idea, have some respect. About Sturridge... There must be a reason why Sturridge wasn't picked over Torres. Now don't give me that old bullshit like this team is based around Torres and that Rafa was brought in to make him better. Get real, it's even more mad of a conspiracy than Sturridge blasting Chelsea at every angle. To be fair, Sturridge was a selfish striker with a diva attitude and he would try to take on impossible shots even when we were losing. Wish him all the best in Liverpool and soon he will prove the doubters wrong, remains to be seen which doubters.
  5. Agreeing 100% with Zolayes. He isn't as influential on the pitch as he is off it, at least now at his age. He is a great player to have around in the dressing room with all of his experience and knowledge of the game that he can pass onto younger players. When he does come on from time to time, he is rested, feels like giving his all. The fact is, his mind might tell him that he is still that midfield maestro that was so crucial to Chelsea seasons ago but the fact is, he isn't getting any younger and he has lost some of his skill and touch - but he still has his experience and that's the main reason why the club should let him stay. That's of course if he accepts a substitute role and wont make the team chemistry bad with sulking etc. That's for one. Secondly, if he is offered a contract extension for a year (which seems to be the policy for 30+) , then aren't we just putting off the inevitable? He will eventually leave the club, the club has to spot the difference if he will be useful to us anymore or not. We would be faced with the same drama next year. Third point I'd like to make. Getting rid of our so called old guard would pave way to a new manager that would like a fresh start. Having the Lampards and Drogbas and Terrys around will in a way challange the authority of the manager and will put down certain boundaries for him. So in that sense the club is doing all the dirty work atm to allow a new manager to stamp his own print to this club. One example of EXCESSIVE player power is the sacking of AVB where the old guard were all against him. It did get ugly at one point and Abramovich has since then promised to deal with the rebels, regardless of their status in the club. Rightly so. To sum it up,I love him as a player and keep him if he still has something to offer. Whether it be on the pitch or off it, but I don't expect him to stay just for the sake of it that he is a Chelsea legend. I feel that if he knows that he can't challenge for spots in the midfield and can't contribute anymore, he should step aside. As I've said it before - noone is bigger than the club. KTBFFH
  6. If he comes, I'll support him regardless if he is a superstar or a relatively unknown player.. he might turn out to be a very decent player and plus we could use some depth - for the sake of the club and options for Rafa. Not going to feel sorry for players if they can't get playing time, bcs they are not as good as other players at same position. Real life and transfers aren't like FM, where you got fixed values and potentials programmed in - in reality there are tons of factors that can make or break a player great.
  7. Some of his dribbles resemble Messi, very good footballer and still very young.. a bright future ahead of him if he makes right choices and keeps making progress week in week out.. though would be foolish of Chelsea to go snap up youngsters for 20mil if we've got enough to fill the position and the likes of KdB etc coming through.. would be bad for his talent and progress as well just a luxury signing for us. Grass is not always greener on other side of the fence.
  8. Sorry mate, misread - thanks for correcting. You're right , he didnt kiss the PITCH
  9. We shouldn't expect him to kiss the badge but respect it.. no need for fake emotions just for the sake of it for cheap popularity, in my opinion he is more than capable of earning our complete respect for what he does on the pitch.
  10. Lampard was right to take the penalty himself.. he earned it and he had a point to make.. well done - Mata MOTM, mentions out to Ba and Moses
  11. As long as Lampard continues to contribute to the team, I think he should stay. That said, no man is bigger than the club, no room for demi-gods. You'd expect more diplomacy from a club captain.
  12. Voted for The only place to be.. Why? Well, Henrique summed it up nicely..
  13. You look at this CV and see that he has worked himself up from playing amateur football and not being able to pay for food while being on trials to moving to a club like Chelsea. Seems like a great lad with good attitude and work ethics. Keep it up Ba!
  14. Huge fan of him since his days from Hoffenheim where he and Ibisevic were unstoppable
  15. Welcome aboard, Ba! Chelsea's number 29
  16. He can be registered without announcing his signing to the fans officially..
  17. The 20mil includes his wages over the 3,5 years also as far as ive read.. people are adding all sorts of sums to the 7,5 mil to make it look like a bad transfer for chelsea
  18. Not going to bash the players for one bad performance. Complete trust in them and whoever Rafa chooses. Good luck! Needless to say expecting a win. Maybe we might even get a look at Ba in Chelsea shirt
  19. I rate PvA a lot more than Bertrand.. never seen what's so special about Ryan... only thing is he is HG..
  20. Would love to have him here.. top lad, always joking around and boosting morale.. rate him highly as a player..
  21. Most likely the reason why Benitez rested some of the key players was bcs EPL is out of reach and winning the cup is realistic.. so in that sense i agree with him about the player lineup choice. As I said before, you'd expect other squad members to show up when presented with such opportunity.
  22. Very good post.. mature and spot on.. please post more often, mate Agree with you in every sense
  23. I get that we've got 2 fullbacks.. but where was Bertrand? Nowhere to be seen.. Azpi was bombing the right flank like a mad man.. all in all very dull performance. Nothing wrong with the lineup, bcs the men on the field just didn't turn up... you'd expect a team of Chelsea's caliber to be able to field a few of their normally substitute players and still grind out a result but not to be. QPR wanted it more, needed it more and deserved it more. Ivanovic and Torres both had several 100% chances, not to mention Moses was a toe poke away from connecting to Oscar's cross. Would have cemented our stop in third position but title was a long shot anyway.. hopefully we can bounce back. Shouts out to Oscar and Azpilicueta..
