  1. agreed. Their constant fouling and just about getting by without picking up yellows and reds is really annoying. I have hated them since they fluked that 3-3 draw against us in 2009 with one goal going 'post, Cech's head, post, in' and another which was a clearance which it Saha I think it was on the back. Beckford's goal last season was lucky too where he hit the ball against 2 defenders and both times the ball bounced straight back to him Their fans don't tend to be the nicest either and dont get me started on their manager who looks like an alien, Phil bloody Neville and Heitinga. One day their luck against us will run out and we will absolutely destroy them
  2. I don't care what he did in Valencia, nobody (well Wayne Rooney perhaps) deserves to be treated in that way. OK on the pitch I dont much like Kalou as a player but he does put in effort and I am sure he does his best for the team. He seems like a really nice person off the pitch and so does not deserve to be treated like that. In 20 years time at the end of his career what will he think of the Chelsea fans? My bet is that he will think we are terrible supporters who had a hatred of him and did not love him as a player because he did not always play well for us. The odd 20 or so who are giving him this abuse are creating a dreadful image of the lot of us as fans and making us seem like bad people. Unfortunately this is not the first time I have commented on this forum about abuse which he gets from the so-called 'fans' on twitter. The mindless idiots bring down the reputation of all of us
  3. unfortunately not because the hotels are, as mentioned owned by millennium and corpothone and contain appartments. There are also some houses behind the Shed end wall which are not part of the hotel complex which would not get enough light into their gardens
  4. very interesting about stadium expansion. At least they have revealed that they have actually tried to get planning permission for certain things. Looks as if the East stand is a non-starter for redevelopment, The Shed end looks quite difficult although in my opinion it would be the easiest option to redevelop. I can see why a route to west brompton was rejected because there is hardly any space for a passage to be built along that route and the west stand would not really be possible to rebuild
  5. On the who is the guy/girl behind the username thread I'm called Clive, I'm 37 and I'm a registered sex offender. I'm Alex, 18 years old - studying History at uni as of October!
  6. Home country England Other countries lived in Spain Countries I have been to Canada Holland Belgium USA Finland France Countries I would like to visit Italy UAE Mexico Brazil South Africa Portugal Dominican Republic Manchester
  7. I can see a lot of you saying that it should be called Stamford Bridge. I disagree for the simple reason that it would not be Stamford Bridge. It would not be that plot of land next to the Fulham road and 2 train lines if you get what I mean. We would be calling it something that it just is not. Arsenal did not call their new stadium Highbury, City did not call their new stadium Maine Road. It would seem like we are saying that it would be the same stadium that we have played in for 106 years
  8. would it matter if it was called 'Samsung Arena' or similar? To us it would still be Stamford Bridge or Nine Elms or Battersea
  9. The atmosphere will not 100% be shit. Porto, Benfica, Galatasary have moved to new stadiums recently and their atmosphere has not gone. The possibility of cheaper ticket prices might bring back some of the older, louder and more passionate fans at games
  10. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2472458,00.html If you watch this, they talk a lot about moving stadiums, not about the actual Chelsea Pitch Owners and the way Cundy talks it seems like he (a club insider who works daily with the club) seems more or less resigned to the fact that we are leaving. if the club were true to their word that they are not looking at another place to build a stadium then why would the interview be so focused about how we have enjoyed our last 106 years at the Bridge but we need to remain competitive? Come on Chelsea, just admit it, we know you are looking at alternative sites and may even already have one
  11. Not sure if it is entirely related, but AFL architects (who have worked with us to refurbish the East Stand and West stand) and designed Cobham training ground have also designed a stadium for an un named client. It looks like this: Not sure if the fact that they have worked so closely with us in the past could have anything to do with it. It could be our future stadium. They are fairly high profile as well, having worked with Manchester United, Rio 2016 Olympics and Liverpool
  12. If you knew about our beginnings as a football club you would realise that we were founded because of Stamford Bridge, not the other way around like every other club. Therefore we have a much stronger connection to our stadium than other teams
  13. Wembley can only hold around 20 events per year or something due to some restrictions. It is too far away from the Bridge too, and the seats are red!
  14. I think that is very unlikely. Where would we play and fit a suitable number of supporters while the building work is taking place? The railways behind the East and MH stands would still be there There would still only be 1 exit onto Fulham Road The Shed and MH would need to be completely rebuilt to contain player facilities, executive boxes etc. that you find on a length ways stand would the stadium really be much bigger for millions of pounds of rebuilding on the same site. The whole area in which we are located is not a square and however hard I try I cannot see how the stadium would be bigger if we turned it 90 degrees
  15. what a legend. Would never have got Ancelotti, Scolari or Grant on a motorbike in the Dakar Rally
  16. Like Terry 07 said, it was an impressive performance but we do also have to look at how poor Bolton were. 2 goals should have been saved by their goalkeeper. However, what I did find very encouraging was the tempo of our play. We moved the ball very quickly into effective positions and for long spells dominated possession. At one point we had 75% I think. Our fast start was also crucial in my opinion. it seems that as a general rule, when we start quickly we win by a more convincing scoreline. In all of these games we scored within the first 10 minutes: Bolton 1-5 Chelsea Chelsea 4-0 Blackpool Chelsea 6-0 Wigan Chelsea 3-1 Birmingham West Ham 1-3 Chelsea Chelsea 8-0 Wigan Chelsea 5-0 Watford Chelsea 7-2 Sunderland
  17. If he can stay clear of injuries he would be a great signing in my opinion. He could play as an attacking midfielder which would allow Mata to push out wide instead of having to work as a midfielder at times. Ramires- Ganso- McEachran Now thats what I call a midfield in a few years
  18. Good for him. He shut up the pro-United media and showed them that he still has a major part to play at this club. I would not rush him straight back into the first XI though because it was only 1 game. Still, if he impresses as a substitute then I do not see why he could not regain his place.
  19. I have always tried to defend Kalou but last night was the last straw. What he did was utterly stupid and it shows lack of respect to the team to do something so stupid so late on. People point out the good things he has done like: Last minute header vs Watford in the FA Cup Very good goal vs Birmingham last season Tap in vs Spurs last season apart from those 3 he pops up with the odd goal but we could have somebody else do that job as well as be twice the player he is. As people have pointed out he has not improved since coming here and has frustrated the hell out of people with his dreadful first touch, selfishness, pure stupidity (the number of times he has dribbled the ball off the pitch is beyond me) and often incredible misses. Does this bring back any memories? I hate slating players which play for our club but he just does not cut it!
  20. Countering with Mikel, Lampard and Malouda will be about as effective as trying to chop off someone's head off with a feather.
