What the hell are you on about? Are you using your skin colour to look for sympathy because according to you Chelsea fans are racists? Although a few hundred fans were singing racist abuse does that make the 42 000 fans at home matches racist?
-
and you are putting that down to skin colour?
-
And I think you will find that the people singing horrible things like that are in the extreme minority. When you say I am saying that Torres is getting a shit load of support for being dog shit when Drogba was abused to death during his first season despite playing much better for the team then what Torres is now then why do you say that Torres is getting support for the colour of his skin?
-
I don't get what you are saying? Are you implying that Chelsea fans don't like Drogba because he is black and like Torres because he is white? If you are I feel quite offended to be honest because I think you will find that 99.99% of Chelsea fans do not judge people by their skin colour and you are using something as trivial as skin pigment as an excuse for Drogba being hated by some white people.
-
Don't really see what Drogba did too wrong today. Didn't like the way people were singing Torres' name and 'We want Torres' while Drogba was on the pitch. It was quite disrespectful considering Drogba was really trying hard. People in the Shed Upper were criticising everything Drogba was doing and when Torres came on and was not much better at all everyone was applauding his every move. What has Torres done in the past few games which Drogba has not to warrant the fan's backing?
-
Romeu did brilliantly today and showed why he should be in ahead of Mikel. Credit to Mata and Sturridge as well- both were fantastic
-
Just noticed you can go around the outside of Stamford Bridge in street view now. They have blurred out the player faces on the shed wall though
-
Good old Mick. Absolutely clueless manager!
-
With regard to this atmosphere discussion, even at the start of the Abramovich era we were always reasonably loud at home matches but the singing seemed to go somewhere around 2006 time. Credit to the stewards in the Shed Upper who do let us stand through the whole game but the stand is filled with people who don't bother to sing at all. The man who sits next to me spends more time on his blackberry and spitting on the floor than actually watching the game. Fair enough he has paid £880 for his seat there but if that is all he is going to do then why cant he fuck off up to the west or east upper?
-
And until the winter you will continue to criticise him while he is unable to buy anyone

The problem is that Battersea Power station is one of those marmite buildings. Some people absolutely hate it while others love it. Personally I would be embarrassed to have my team playing in the old power station Past work from the architects of our potential new stadium http://www.kpf.com/projects.type.asp

We should be criticising the players. Every time a manager gets the boot it is because the players would rather play for Mourinho. Before I start this rant I would like to point out that AVB is by no means perfect and has made mistakes this season. BUT: Q Whose fault was it that Salomon Kalou decided to handle the ball and give away a stupid penalty in the last minute against Valencia? A Salomon Kalou Q Whose fault was it that Petr Cech decided to throw the ball to Mikel when he had two players around him against Liverpool? A Petr Cech Q Whose fault was it that Ramires and Torres both missed absolute sitters against Man U at Old Trafford earlier this season? A Ramires and Fernando Torres Q Whose fault was it that Drogba decided he would go in recklessly on Adel Taarabt against QPR when we were already down to 10 men? A Didier Drogba Q Whose fault was it that Petr Cech was beaten more than once at his near post against Arsenal? A Petr Cech

Battersea Park? Nah taken.

as long as we are not going to be playing in the power station itself I'm fine with it

Josh has never complained and just got on with the fact that he has not being playing games which he deserves a lot of respect for. I don't know what its doing to him inside but it must be pretty depressing to know that even Mikel is getting into the team ahead of you. he is a good player who needs game time to become an exceptional player but if he is not getting that at Chelsea then it could mean he moves on and it is another fantastic, promising youth player gone. If Villas Boas is going to attack Brendan Rodgers for trying to help both McEachran and Chelsea by helping Josh to develop then that is very ungrateful IMO. Villas Boas is not giving Josh any time yet when somebody offers to do so (for just a loan deal lets not forget) he gets angry with them!

What is it about our players and Mourinho? Can't they just get over it and get on with it like men or are we stuck with players who think they are bigger than the management and the club whining since 2007 that they don't have 'the special one' managing them. If there is one thing that really pisses me off about this crop of players its the way they feel that they are bigger than the club and that they almost need Jose to make them play well. The effort under Mourinho from some current players was more than twice what it was under Grant and Scolari and some of them are not professional enough to deal with the fact that Mourinho is gone. If what is said about players not accepting AVB because he 'was only a scout' under Mourinho then that makes me sick. How disrespectful and arrogant to some of them want to be?
-
he obviously is not doing too badly if he is still England captain
-
Well what would be the point of paying £13m to release Villas-Boas from his contract if you just want us to play the same boring rubbish we have played for the last 5 years? We could just get any old joe from Exeter or Hartlepool or whatever and get them to play the way we did under Scolari, Grant and Ancelotti. Abramovich went for Villas-Boas because under him Porto played pretty, winning football. So what does he tell Villas Boas on his first day at Cobham? Certainly not 'abandon your successful, pretty football so that we can see the same old shit from Malouda, Mikel and Anelka week in week out'. Abramovich wants attractive football and with the right players this will work. The thing is, AVB want 'Barcelona-like' players who can pass a football and unfortunately for him he inherited some absolute crap to try and work his footballing philosophy with. Once AVB gets the opportunity to bring in players who can pass a football we should be able to see his style of football proving successful.

Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas
Liquidator replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Can we please stop criticising Villas-Boas's style? We know it has not been too successful so far but he has the right idea in getting us to play nicer football. Obviously it does not work for every player i.e John Terry but what would be the point of Abramovich hiring him and getting him to just play the same boring way we have done for the last 5 years if he wants passing football? Every manager has their own unique style of play so why should Villas Boas have to change his footballing philosophy if our players cannot play this way? It would be like trying to make Barcelona play the big Sam Allardyce way- it just wouldn't work. Give him time and hopefully in the Summer we will get rid of the rotting corpses of Anelka, Malouda etc from the back of the cupboard and bring in players who know how to play quick tempo passing football. -
It would be difficult to sell so many of the players we have slagged off today and just buy a new team like we did under Mourinho without disrupting the squad. We let too many players go after 2009/10 and look what happened once the injuries came. However, we do need a massive squad overhaul and I would be quite happy at that time to say goodbye to Mikel, Malouda, Ferreira, Turnbull, Anelka and Drogba if we want to implement passing football. They should not all go at once though as not to disrupt the squad and I'm not sure how willing Mr Abramovich will be to fork out £300m for a new squad base every 8 years

''Club sources believe the exterior of the power station could be used to develop an iconic stadium and in addition it could build a range of leisure facilities.'' NO THANKS! What next using the 4 chimneys as floodlight pylons?
-
He is becoming a bit of a liability. Not sure how much all the stuff in the week had to do with his performance today but it was very poor. The high line does not suit someone like him because you need pace for it. His tackling today was strange as well, instead of dispossessing a player he seemed to just swing his leg and hope it made contact with the ball. I think he can be excused for his slip against Arsenal because that is just bad luck and can happen to anyone but he certainly is not what he used to be. I'd give him a rest what with all that is going on for the game midweek and start with a Cole-Alex-Ivanovic-Bosingwa defence against Leverkusen.
