  1. Mourinho signed Ballack and Belletti. Scholari signed Deco....
  2. Interesting opinion, however to be fair to him he has not had any coaching support for a lot of this season(wilkins)....
  3. Agreed, out team setup requires a bit of tweaking to get back on track not a major overhaul.
  4. Drogba actually has a freekick technique ala Ronaldo. Lampard just keeps it low and whacks it, hoping the wall will jump over it. I think it is worth a thread because if Drogba leaves in the summer, one of the players we buy (a playmaker hopefully), will have to be able to put in a good dead ball delivery and free kick, as Drogba is the best we currently have......
  5. I have had a look on Wikipedia and looked at the league points total of the Ambramovich era: 2003-2004 - 90 pts won title 60 pts came fourth 2004-2005 - 95 pts won title 61 pts came fourth 2005-2006 - 91 pts won title 67 pts came fourth 2006-2007- 89 pts won title 68 pts came fourth 2007-2008 - 87 pts won title 76 pts came fourth 2008-2009 - 90 pts won title 72 pts came fourth 2009-2010 - 86 pts won title 70 pts came fourth Given we currently have 70 points, i think we will end up with 73 possibly 74. On seasons gone by that would have got us 3rd once, 4th five times, and FIFTH once. Make of that what you will.......
  6. Yeah thats only a glorified friendly.....
  7. They beat as 3 times not 4 wasn't it?...we beat them 2-1 at home in the league game.....fact is we have played 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 against them with and without Torres starting so the players obviously aint good enough or have the wrong attitude. What annoys me is that Man u are not a great team and i think Barca will beat them comfortably...
  8. The most encouraging thing is that he seems to have got his pace back, a major asset to his game..
  9. Does anyone agree that we should play our 4-3-3 for this and alternate Drogba and Torres on the right of the front 3. Drogba takes our corners and free kicks and his crossing and passing are very good if he concentrates, and Torres seems to have got his pace back and is good at cutting in. If they switch during the game, it will cause thier left back and centre halfs all sorts of problems.
  10. The stick he gets from the media is all down to the transfer fee. As soon as it is broken they will lay off him. I can see City breaking it this summer with a move for Bale if Spurs don't get top 4...
  11. I'd play that team.....fuck Anelka off for good....
  12. Thats true but he aint worth £150k a week to us anymore.
  13. Depends who it was with. Some of my one night stands have not been nice to look at in the morning.....
  14. On ladbrokes they are quoting Ancellotti at 1/4 to leave chelsea at the end of the season, 11/4 to stay.....Drogba is 5/6 to leave with Anelka 5/4......It is looking inevitable for Carlo.....
  15. All we can do though is stick by him and hope for the best. His signing so far has been a disaster but lets just hope that he is not finished...
  16. I guess the only person's opinion that really matters is Romans, after all it is his club...It is looking hugely likely that Carlo only has till the end of the season though.....not a single website or paper is backing him to stay......
  17. But if he can't even speak English then thats gonna be a huge problem...Martin o Neill should be the man for me, consistantly gets teams higher than they should be, great motivator and great with young players. He also got Celtic to the Uefa cup final only losing to Mourinho's porto...plus he learned from the best English manager of all time Brian Clough....but Roman won't like him because he won't have any outside interferance.....
  18. The guy has never managed in Europe so would be to much of a risk, plus what language does he speak??
  19. The only value in those prices is getting an adult and kids season ticket in the family section.....I remember in the mid 90's I used to pay a kids price of £4 to stand in the shed.....
  20. Agreed that is the way forward - the big question is who is the man??. If Ancellotti goes then you know Roman will want to bring in another big manager who has experience in europe but not in England, that in it's self is always a risk....Personally i'd like to see us go for Martin O Neill, if not him then David Moyes, but It won't happen...
  21. You Don't have to win something every year to be a success...however we won the league with a very low points total, had Carlo managed us for the previous 6 seasons we would not have won the league.....Interestingly we won it with less points then when Liverpool came second a few years ago...
  22. We don't have the players at the moment to play Torres as our no 1 striker - we are better suited to Drogba at the moment. I still can't help thinking that a top manager would be able to get the best out of both of them together...If Torres does play then Benyoun has to be on the pitch. Carlo has certainly failed so far regarding his team selections since we bought Torres..
