Kompany today was excellent, technically great, pressed our attackers at the right time and knew when to drop deep, he was the only leader out on that pitch today. His passing was spot on as well, he is the player i hoped Luiz would be, somehow i don't think that's going to happen. Luiz was poor again, he constantly keeps running out trying to press the attackers but almost always fouls them. He's clumsy, lacks focus and concentration (As Stingray said). Kompany has the intelligence to play as a CB, he knows when to press and doesn't just run out like a headless chicken committing fouls left, right and center. Earlier in the season people were crying out for Luiz to be our defender, their argument was that he will start our the attack of with his amazing passes, i'm sorry but in the last two games we couldn't start anything from the back, In the West Brom game Oscar had to come deeper than usual to collect the ball. It's hugely embarrassing watching our defence pass the ball side to side for five minutes straight. I'm sorry, Luiz is not Scholes, Xavi and Pirlo mixed in one, he doesn't start our attacks, the last two games has debunked that theory. People will say 'you cant judge him on two games', i'm not, I've been saying this for months, years even. Its funny because now this theory has been debunked, they will now say i only slate him because i'm English and we have some sort of an agenda... xenophobia, that is. In the end, it's only forum, no need to somehow discredit another member's opinion based on their nationality.

What does he do? attacking wise he offers next to nothing, defensively he's lazy, hardly ever tracks his man, rarely wins back the ball... when he does it takes him 30 seconds to actually release the fucking thing. In the last 20 minutes he did try, he passed the ball forward more times than in his whole Chelsea career, but it wasn't enough. As poor as Matic was today he was still better than Mikel in almost all aspects. 8 years of mediocrity, hopefully he'll be on his way out in the summer.

We cannot have anymore slip ups like today and against West Brom, blame it on the players being tired or whatever, if we want to win the league we have to look interested in actually winning... 0 shots on target says it all really.

Um... No.

Everyone was useless today. The most embarrassing thing was watching us constantly pass the ball around the back, same against West Brom, we're so poor at starting attacks from the back. This leads me to my next point, i thought D.Luiz was king at this? many people keep on saying he's vital in our team because he starts our attacks, nonsense. Mikel, Luiz, Willian, Ramires, Ivanovic, Matic and Hazard were all poor today, just looked disinterested. Also Mourinho was on bad from tonight, Salah for Eto'o? very weird sub. The thing that annoys me the most is that this was against City's second team...
-
Mourinho the cheeky kent, Cahill not fit... HA.
-
What the hell is the keeper doing?
-
Seems like Wenger comments got to him, Jose wasn't even joking. Not really sure if Wenger struck a nerve. I do find it funny that most of the Arsenal fans who said the exact same thing somehow feel insulted because Mourinho said it... at least Piers Morgan agrees with Jose.

Terry did it once, Luiz consistently makes mistakes, that's the difference. Victor fucking Anichebe had Luiz quaking in his boots...
-
please tell me who considered him one of the best CBs int he world? Jesus Christ... do people just forget how much of a liability he is at the back? it's funny when you slate Luiz people always come back with excuses, if that doesn't work they say 'look at how many mistakes Cahill/Terry made', Yes, everyone makes mistakes, but there's a difference between making a mistake every once in a while, like Cahill/Terry, to being a repeat offender like Luiz. He's one of the most overrated players I've come across in a long time. He's not even top 10 best defender in the PL ffs. Another thing, lets be honest, is his passing that good? i hear many people on this forum say he's vital because he gets the ball to our attacking players meaning we can play from the back... i disagree, in fact how many times does he just hoof the ball up to no one? his passing is better than most defenders but it isn't great.

Luiz had a good spell under Rafa, but apart from that six months he's been poor. Cahill was bought in as a sqaud player, this season he's been improving with every game, now he's a starter. Of course he made the odd mistake same with any defender, but Luiz constantly does that. It's not even mistakes with Luiz anymore though, he whole game has regressed. It's not just the English posters, it's most of the Chelsea fans who think he's a liability.
-
? Yes because we didn't like Carvalho, Desailly, Gallas... stop talking out your fucking arse. All of a sudden you cant slate Luiz, if you do you get replies back saying it's because he's not English... grow up. It's a conspiracy i'm telling you, all the the English posters have an agenda, Luiz has actually been our most consistent defender, we just don't like him because he's not English. Have you seen his hair? how fucking messy is it? he should get it cut like JT or Cahill... you know how ridiculous you sound? Luiz was fucking poor today, it's not about nationality, it's about defending and I've had enough of his poor defending costing us games. I know Terry and Cahill have made mistakes, but lets be honest Luiz is more of a liability than them.
-
He's been very inconsistent the last few months, in the most important part of our season... he needs to step it up.
-
Lads, being top was good while it lasted Oscar, Luiz and Ivan was all pretty poor tonight... Luiz looked like a fish out of water in the last 15 minutes, looked really uncomfortable. Oh well, it happens. Usually dropping points against the smaller teams would be costly but this season every team is, look at City against Norwich for example. My main worry though and i was thinking this when we beat City, we can beat the big teams but why do we struggle so much against the smaller teams? it's incredibly annoying. To think, i was looking forward to watching the matches tomorrow knowing we'll be top regardless of what happens... mad season really if you think about it.
-
Another Hazard hat-trick on the cards? haha i have a feeling he'll score though.
-
No they aren't the only two good players in the world, but they're the best... Hazard is already in the world class bracket along with the likes of Suarez and Aguero, but i think he can surpass them and be up there with the like of Ronaldo and Messi. Was that so hard? fucking hell.
-
We shouldn't be worried about PSG, maybe Real in a few years time but for now, lets be happy. We have the best young talent in the world. Think about this for moment, Barcelona spent up to 80 million on Neymar, we spent 32 million on Hazard and imo he's the better player... to think Ferguson was complaining about us paying his agent haha when you look at the Neymar deal it's nothing really.
-
I'm talking Ronaldo/Messi level.
-
He seems way more determined to score goals this season and perform in the big matches, last season it didn't really bother him. Now he wants to compete against the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, before he said it himself, he didn't expect to score or makes assists every game, now he does. Hazard 2012/13 versus Hazard 2013/14 Goals Conversion Chances created per game Dribbles per game Hazard 2012/13 9 20.9% 1.9 1.8 Hazard 2013/14 12 30.8% 2.5 3.7 If he continues to improve at this rate, in a few years time he'll be one of the best.

Rvp, Rooney, Ronaldo, Oscar, Higuain, Matic and Willian are not great players.... literally the most inaccurate statement I've ever heard.

Forget Tika-taka or total football... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKC9KdBCgW4

Do you think they'll risk Toure against us? they do play Barcelona in the CL three days later...
-
I thought this was a great article, well worth the read.
-
Did he just make that up?
-
They will be back, but it'll take time to rebuild. Before if United failed to win the league you would bet on them winning it the following year, now, i don't see it. It's going to be more even, more teams will have a chance to win it. Although Chelsea or City have a real chance to take over, we can be the club who wins the league more often than not, we just need to make sure Jose stays long enough.
