Still pretty much same problems - slowing down our play, passing sideways and providing nothing offensively. He has definitely improved, no doubt about that, but another problem appeared this season. His lack of pace is causing troubles in terms of man-marking and pressing. So we could see 2 or 3 Arsenal players wide open and a lot of time for them to receive and distribute the ball. Our new AVB crazy attacking style doesn't suite a classic holding midfielder like Obi IMO. Should give Oriol at least a chance against a stronger side.

No, no I didn't doubt your point. On the contrary, I agree with you. The problem is that Torres is a 50M signing, Drogba is a club legend and Anelka is still being considered as a useful player. That is why the only way for Danny to play is the wide position. He can adjust and improve and I'm sure he will. Consistency and stability, he desperately needs that atm. This is a very important period of Danny's career and bashing the youngster won't do any good.

His decision making was really poor today. Lots of mistakes in that department + missed chances, but that comes with experience. You have to support younger players in moments like this because they need confidence and experience. IMO Danny was better than Torres though he was poor too. Gave the ball away often, ruined few good chances, but he was at least involved and finding the right space unlike Nando who had one of those 'I am gonna disappear for 90 minutes' day.
