Calm down, it was brilliant game by us, didn't take foot off the pedal although we were winning easily. We bowed out with class and it's not like we were humiliated in the group. Some of you don't understand how talented Donetsk's team is, and Juventus is Juventus, a force to reckon with. We blew it away with the Juventus game. Our squad is too thin to compete on 4-5 fronts. We would have been knocked out in last 16 or last 8 in my eyes and for me, that hurts alot more. Let's get back on terms in the League, progress in FA Cup, play youth in Europa League and Capital One Cup, win the CWC. Only thing hurt here is our egos, club will cope without the financial benefits of progressing. Perhaps we won't make some signings in January we would have but that can also be positive because players in January are over the market value and it's harder for them to step into the team. We played nice, MOTM for me Torres. Shout outs to Luiz, Ramires and Romeu. Well played lads.
-
Hmm, they won 2-1 at Ukraine, we won 3-2 at England so it must be that they scored more away goals? no?
-
Right, think about it. The schedule is tough especically with CWC coming and we've to re-schedule the games, making the fixture list more packed than it already is. It's a blessing in disguise - we would have been dropped out in the latter stages I'm afraid anyway, with the managerial changes and thin squad. Focus on EPL; CWC; FA cup and heck why not even Carling Cup. Play youth, and players who don't get that much play time in Europa League, simple.
-
Don't be so pessimistic. Donetsk will not roll over for Juventus. Just look at the goal they scored against fair play, it's that ego, that drive that make them want to win, not lose
-
Didn't mean to point it at anyone. Just skimmed through the forum and those kinds of "opinions" caight my eye, didn't even look at the poster's name

And please have some respect. Calling someone "fat, ugly twat" etc over the Internet makes YOU the twat (for the most part, the guys calling him that take a look in the mirror ). Decision's made, if you don't like it keep it to yourself. Any true fan would move on and support the club and thus the manager. We can't expect results if the 12th man - the fans - can't get a grip. Football is a business nowadays, welcome to the real world. Noone gives you anything for being a legend, results are all that count. Saying this again, welcome and good luck Rafa Benitez. Show some respect.

That's wishful thinking mate. I'm leaning more towards to panic January cash-splash spree.

Emotions aside, perhaps Benitez isn't the worst option. He's part of the club now, have to support him. Good luck Rafa

I don't understand this one. Baffeled... as crazy as sacking Carlo Ancelotti. Who now? Pep won't come before summer, IF he comes at all. Benitez? Fucking hell.... Disrespectful from the club towards a club legend and a CL winning manager. Good luck and thank you Di Matteo.
-
Cheers for pointing that out. Very doubtful that they'll lose, draw seems more likely

Juventus were far more superior than us. Should have been something like 5-1 looking at the chances. I've been firm supporter of Di Matteo and I still am but questions like "has this Chelsea job come to him too fast in his career? Is he ready? Can he handle the egos in the dressing room, in the club?" - we don't know that but as far as expectations go, he hasn't delivered. I'm not calling for a sack, far from it, I'm just thinking out loud. You couldn't get anyone to replace him, presuming Pep Guardiola won't accept any job offer till new season. Let's look at it realistically. We're third with 7 points, GD of +1; Juventus 2nd with 9 points, GD of +7 and Donetsk 1st with 10 points and GD of +5. Only ways we can go through now are: 1) Donetsk and Juventus play out a draw and we have to beat Nordsjaelland 7:0 - highly unlikely regardless of their status in this competition. I just read what Reddish-Blue wrote, so there's only one way for us to progress if goal difference doesn't play any role. 2) Donetsk beats Juventus and we beat Nordsjaelland. There are some positives to take out of this game. One being that the club and manager acknowledge the fact that we have no proper strikers. Torres won't be here for another season, I'm sure of that. And I can't say I'd be too bothered if Sturridge is sold to Liverpool. Smart moves, not hasty moves have to be taken in both the dressing room and upcoming transfer window. Falcao? Shürrle? Bony? Remy? Llorente? ...perhaps, the club will know best. All talk is around striker situation, in my eyes we need cover for our centre back pairing. With Terry injured and let's face it on the wrong side of 30, we have little to no cover for Cahill and Luiz - only if we play Azpilicueta as right-back and Ivanovic in the middle. Only one I'd bring up from our team is Cech, solid display and kept us in it till the first goal. We had that coming. With the chances they had and the dominance, 3-0 could have been a lot worse. Some others played good as well here and there but weren't consistent nor as influential to the gameplay. Loss is a loss, especially in the back of the West Brom defeat. Chin up, deal with it. Juventus deserved it, congratulations to any Juventus fans reading this.

Its 4-2-3-1 Ivanovic-Cahill-Luiz-Cole Ramires-Mikel Azpilicueta-Oscar-Mata Hazard

Hahaha brilliant

2-1 for Chelsea, confident in our players.

Lazy, lousy and ineffective game. Get a striker, we have none.. Sturridge is rubbish, Torres is rubbish, Oscar Mata Hazard are tired, whole team is wasteful and sloppy with passing.
-
Damn, I hoped they'd lose or draw but looking at the way Villa give up I'm expecting 4-2 or 5-2 win for Utd
-
Keep in mind the schedule we've had and the cup tie "must win" attitude meant our rotation got messed up. Players are tired, that's understandable. Great win, very happy regardless of the gameplay, props to Donetsk

I'm sorry if I come across like that but it's not even what he has or hasn't said in his interviews, I also take into account his body language shown on the pitch and it says "I don't give a damn", for me he is a closed folder. There's nothing to make me re-evaluate that fact. Even if he does go on a goal scoring spree, the question for me will be "for how long?" I admit I might be biased but we are all entitled for an opinion. I respect yours, so no offence.
