  1. On Tuesday we won't get robbed. Officials are under pressure now. I believe that they will give us ANY penalty, unless it's obvious and if our players dive. We won't get robbed, we did in 2005, 2009, last week, but we won't on Tuesday. They'll be more careful than we all think.
  2. 1 - Lampard 2 - Drogba 3 - Essien 4 - Alex 5 - Ramires/Benayoun Torres under great pressure, would never make it. Neither JT.
  3. As for the line-up for the game, these would be my favourites: Cech Ivanovic - Alex - Terry - Cole Essien - Mikel Ramires - Lampard Benayoun Torres or Cech Ivanovic - Alex - Terry - Cole Mikel Ramires - Benayoun - Lampard Drogba - Torres In the first line-up, I'd expect Essien and Mikel to do amazingly well with their strength and defensive skills to stop United's passing game and take the ball off them. Ramires and Lampard could combine well with each other, and as for Benayoun and Torres, it's obviously clear that it'd work, unless United mark them perfectly well and not give them enough space to move. Benayoun + Torres is who I'm having my biggest hopes on for Tuesday. As for the second line-up, pretty much similar, but Drogba starting instead of Essien. The Bison hasn't been performing too well in his last performances, hence I believe that Mikel would be a better choice, as he can pass to Ramires - Benayoun or Lamps without showing any sort of pressure. Drogba with his strength could win aerial battles against United's defense, and he and Torres could work, who knows. I'm more optimistic about this than I was about the first leg game. I have a great feeling that we can beat them. A good advantage we have for this game is Alex returning. We all know how good he is at free-kicks, and we could attempt to get as many as possible. With Alex and Drogba, we could score a freekick or two, and how awesome would it be to silent Old Trafford with a rocket shot.
  4. Ferreira has also won it in 2004 with Porto.
  5. I think that they both performed quite well actually. One of them hit the post, Drogba had a great real chance one versus one with Van der Sar, Torres' header was saved too, it could have easily been three. If they had no chances at all then I'd be worried. But Torres must bloody take the opportunities he gets on Tuesday, so must every other player. Don't bloody hesitate to shoot.
  6. Do you realize that this is a Champions League quarter-final, at Old Trafford, against Manchester United to whom we lost 1-0 at our own ground? I don't think that Kalou should start. It's not time for jokes. On Tuesday, it's time for either Didier Drogba or Fernando Torres to prove that they're Chelsea heroes.
  7. Milan ftw. Inter are a joke without Mourinho. A trophyless season for them after getting treble last season would really hurt.
  8. I agree on Zhirkov, but it's rather funny how some people have never heard of the word update either
  9. It's the last chance for Lampard and Terry to win this I feel. Each of us, and every Chelsea fan in the world loves this cup and hopes for it every year, but none of us can imagine how much John Terry wants it. I want to see him lift this cup in my life time. He has the chance to make it, he and Carlo must motivate the team and tell them what playing for Chelsea means. On Wednesday the players were not giving their best, they were playing like they've won the cup 3 times already, not like a team who's dying for this cup. They must give their very best and all they got if they want to win this. They must want the win if they want to win the game, and the cup. Don't fucking let a penalty decide our game Chelsea. Fucking beat Manchester United. On Tuesday, either we get our ass kicked badly, or we kick their ass badly. It won't finish as a draw, one of the teams will win, I can assure each of you for that. It is a game of living or dying.
  10. Same score on Tuesday night and we'll all be trolling the RedCafe.
  11. I want to see him smile, clap, high-five his son and all that when Torres scores on Tuesday.
  12. Or this, even better. Great combination between Yossi and Fernando. They'll do it again on Tuesday.
  13. Has Roman Abramovich said anything similar to this? If not, the writer of this article is worth a sack.
  14. Cech - 8. Petr keeps showing us his great goalkeeping skills and reflexes. He has no doubt been the best performer of the club this season. Ferreira: 7 - Much, much better than his compatriot Bosingwa. I didn't see him make one real mistake in defence, and he was always running forward trying to produce crosses and assists. Credit to Paulo, good game. Ivanovic: 7 - Solid, done the job well. David Luiz : 7 - When with the ball, he is awesome. Brings joy to the fans with his amazing skills when attacking, but defensively he should improve his attitude as he makes some silly fouls. As one of the commentators on TV said, he must know that he should not be the one with the ball all the time, he must be patient and take the ball from the opponent without creating fouls. We've seen Luiz do that in the game versus Fulham, where we could have easily been punished hadn't Cech saved Dempsey's penalty. We've seen him do it against United too, thankfully he wasn't sent off, against Stoke and today as well. But he will improve, no doubt about it. He's still young and will improve. Cole: 6 - Not really spectacular today. But Wigan was always fighting to retain position and they were a tough side. Malouda: 6 - He scored the winner, he deserves credit for it. Hadn't he scored, I'd give him a 5, but a goal is a goal no matter how it is scored, especially today's goal, as it proved to be the winner as well. I thought I saw a bit of improvement on Malouda, but he's always failing to cross, pass or get passed his opponents properly. Loses position easily. Ramires: 7 - No doubt our best midfielder. He's everywhere and is a hard worker, he saved some really important lost balls today and defensively did a great job in taking the ball off Wigan players. Lampard: 5 - It hurts me to admit it but Frank has been playing quite poor. In fact, I don't think that he contributes much to the team. Loses position, seems to be struggling to win battles one versus one and his passing isn't as it used to be. I feel that Ramires has taken his duties now. Mikel: 5 - Didn't do much. Carlo did a good job on taking him off. Anelka: 6 - Nico was quite quick when with the ball in his feet today. Managed to beat Wigan's defenders on some occasions and showed good skills and technique. Didn't do much else to be remembered though. Drogba: 7 - I feel that Drogba's returning to his old form, owning the defenders when one versus one, and his crosses and assits are quite good. We saw that in the game against United as well. SUBS Benayoun: 7 - Showed great skills, technique and vision. I've mentioned it before he even returned on many threads that once he gets back, Torres will get a smile back on his face and will be much more likely to score. Alex: 6 - Didn't do that much but made no mistakes, as far as I'm concerned he has not lost his great defensive skills and let's hope he hasn't. He should definitely start on Tuesday, with Ivanovic on the right. Torres: 7 - Had some really great chances, but he was unlucky. Wigan's goalkeeper made a great save, and in the other chance he had his first touch wasn't that great though, I must admit. He could have done much better on that, he has no one but himself to blame for that wasted opportunity. He must have more confidence on himself.
  15. Legs of Vidic, Ferdinand and co. are shaking
  16. This picture makes it look like he's scored a wonder goal
  17. I was hoping that after getting a new haircut he would retain his form of last season back but no, it seems that Malouda is too old ant too tired now, last season he was like a 24 year old, running during the whole 90 minutes, creating chances, scoring goals, crossing, assisting and all that. I believe that the 8 games left are enough for the club to see whether he improves or not. If he does, which is highly unlikely, they should think about it. If he does not improve, sell him definitely. We're likely to end a trophy less season, we can't risk another if he stays.
  18. I don't think that we should get over excited with the Sturridge situation. He has adapted to the Bolton squad very well, but how sure can we be that he would adapt with us as well? Maybe he won't score at as many once he gets back, if he gets back. I would not be surprised if he gets Torres' luck to be honest, but let's hope that next season he returns to Chelsea and scores as many as possible.
  19. Agreed, especially on the Ferreira bit. He was quite good today, solid defensively and showed quite dangerous many times offensively - trying his hardest to create chances and get us to the goal. Paulo deserves credit.
  20. He must come back definitely. We're struggling to score more than one goal per game and with Sturridge in the team goals will definitely come next season. He's a great striker.
  21. Important three points. We played much better in the second half, and I see that Yossi Benayoun hasn't lost his class, albeit being out for quite a long period. He showed great technique and I'm very glad that he is back, hopefully Carlo starts him on Tuesday. With him and Ramires creating chances we could bang in a goal or two.
