  1. I don't know who's worse, the troll or the people here getting baited.
  2. We played the right game against a Championship side away from home, when they host a PL team, especially one's on form like Derby, they sniff a chance of an upset, we dealt with that in professional fashion. Not a world beating performance, but job done.
  3. I think it's something different other than the manager, players will always go to a club if the project is right, i mean, do you think Hazard signed for us over Fergie's United because he watched Robbie's MK Dons team as a kid?
  4. Lets not forget Strachan's passionate defense of Moyes.
  5. It really is funny, Torres is the one that cost £50m, yet he is the one with the least expected of him. Eto'o misses chances against Swansea he's shit full stop, Torres misses chances today and he's "getting involved in the game and working hard". Oh and don't even go there with the fans chanting "Torres, Torres" everytime he turns over possession. For the record i don't rate Eto'o either, but the sheer amount of double standards and excuses made up for this guy are absolutely hilarious.
  6. Reckon if we ask nicely they will bring back their 07/08 team for one more game?
  7. Sunrise when i was in Costa Rica.
  8. Last time i can think off is when we put Le Saux in the deal for Wayne Bridge. Edit: and Luiz obviously, but before that Bridge-Le Saux.
  9. Hopefully should we get back to the same levels we were at between 04-10, we would have learned serious lesson's which will prevent us having to witness it all come to a horrible head like it did in 10-11 this time. Even if it looks like there is no way a team could be improved further, there always is, and standing still will lead to stagnation somewhere along the line. Things have got slowly better since 10-11, but it was always going to take time after we let ourself's get to a position where we needed a complete overhaul. United have been in slow decline since 2008, and yeah they have won 3 title's in that time while the squad was still competitive, but it would have came to a head eventually even if Fergie stayed (although not to the extent it has with Moyes). We seemed to stop our policy off bringing in young, hungry players in 2006, and 4 years later it came to bite us in the bum. 10-11 was horrific, 11-12 (league wise) was not much better (i know we finished 4 places below in 6th, but i reckon if we got knocked out of the FA Cup and CL earlier like we did in 10-11, we would have got top 4 and matched the 71 points from the previous season) but in 12-13 there was signs we were slowly getting there, but we still had an unbalanced team which showed in inconsistent result's, but our good displays gave us cause for optimism for future season;s. Now we are getting closer, Mourinho's has implemented the high pressing and energy style he wants to adopt (while last season we suffered a bit of an identity crisis in terms of playing style), there is only a few bits in the jigsaw left needed, if we win the league or run the league close this season, the signs will be ominous for the years ahead. Good times.
  10. From his recent quotes about ringing up the board and telling them not to let him go, Jose clearly admires Mata on a personal level just as much as the fans do, so lets hope these conspiracy's that Jose has an ego driven agenda will stop. Mourinho makes decision's that he believe have the best benefit for Chelsea, and by doing that that means head has to come before heart.
  11. Suspended betting at one point i believe, triffic.
  12. Wolsburg are unlikely to find another player of his caliber in this window, milk them Chelsea.
  13. Jose hasn't won what he has by letting his heart his rule his head. If he thinks making the change is the best footballing decision for Chelsea going forward, he will do it.
  14. The beauty of hindsight, imagine if we kept Jimmy instead of signing Kezman. We would have probably hit 100 points and almost certainly would have scored atleast 1 past Liverpool in the CL.
  15. Im not looking forward to the West Brom game. You just know the ref is going to have a 2 wrong's make a right mentality, i am almost sure we will concede a pen that isn't or get denied a stonewaller, possibly both.
  16. Actually i think it's a fair price in today's market. If anything i think we should try and milk even more, in the world of FFP and that. 3 and a half years (i think) left on his contract, a superb reputation in Belgium and Germany, won't be short of offers and has world class potential. Add the fact it's panic season and he will probably be the best that is openly available, i think £25m is about a fair valuation in today's world considering all those things. Wolsburg (no disrespect to them) will not be able to get another player close to KDB's class mid season, we should milk that big time.
  17. If the replacement's were helping us comfortably beat a very good Southampton side away 3-0 then no.
  18. Truthfully, i would prefer we just signed a centre midfielder this month, with KDB going out as that's as good as confirmed. A mid season overhaul is not a good idea, especially as we are getting in our stride.
  19. Have they tho? everytime some one criticizes a Mata performance or states they think other players are more suited to this team do they have to start with, "Mata was great in his first 2 years and i will always love him for that but ...........".
  20. What? that couldn't be further from the truth. His performances for us in 12/13 and especially 11/12 when he was literally our only in form player won't ever be forgotten, but there is only so long that we can keep using those two season's as a reason for him to be playing now. Demba Ba was the best player in a team that finished above us in Mata's first season, shall we play him just because of that? Carvalho was poor from 2008 onwards, and many fans rightly wanted Alex in the side instead (which funnily enough both times dropping Ricky for Alex coincided with a significant improvement in results), yet i didn't see many people going "well Carvalho was one of the best defenders in Europe in his first four season's, Hiddink/Ancelotti is treating him horribly". Just because some off us think Willian-Oscar-Hazard makes us the best team unit, doesn't mean we will ever forget or how Mata as good as carried us in his first season (we would have been fighting for the 8th place trophy with Fulham and Liverpool if it wasn't for him). If Mata played for Dortmund, for example, he would have the same fight to play regularly as he does now.
  21. Which side better than us will start him at their respective clubs? Bayern Munich would not drop Ribery, Robben or Muller because they fit the system Bayern play and even then Gotze would be higher in the list to come off the bench. Dortmund won't drop Kuba, Reus or Henrick either, because while Mata as an individual is arguably better than those 3, they fit Dortmund's high energy system perfectly. Pellegrini would most probably choose Silva. Arsenal he will have to fight with Ozil and Cazorla. Real or Barca he won't even get half the minutes he gets here even now, PSG he will have to fight with Moura and Lavezzi, even at Tottenham he will have competition in the form of Christian Eriksen. Athletico's team are also built on high pressing which means he will have just as big a fight on his hands as he does here. If he goes to Napoli, he has Hamsik to compete with, the list goes on and on. The best club he can go to and still be star of the show is Monaco or ,and even then they will probably sign competition for his place eventually. If players want to play at top clubs fighting for trophies (especially when we have other top players in his position), they have to fight for their place, and Mata is no different to any player in world football. If he want's to go back to being the 'star of the show' he will either have to like any other professional outperform world class players, i love Mata, great player, nice guy, but none of those clubs above would build their system around him, so why Jose is getting stick for this situation i will never know.
  22. Only if he gets 65 games with 2/3rds of them being 90 minutes like he did in 12/13, and even then it would be touch and go. He was finished before he signed for us, we just thought it was a poor bit of form and he needed a new challenge.
  23. I had a dream(nightmare) that he signed a 2 year extension to his contract, i woke up sweating.
