  1. He went down in my estimations after that passion comment, yes Jose let's see if United fans chant you're name if you are one point of relegation. Had to laugh when he said he was frustrated United weren't in the CL, after last season he's lucky to even be in Europa.
  2. The transfer window doesn't hot up until mid July, 2004 we only had Paulo done at this moment out of the summer signings, and the manager not being here does complicate things. Also you and lots others complain about the "lowballing", I'm sorry but the just pay what you want them doesn't wash? City did that In the early Shiekh tenure and look at the crap they acquired for over inflated prices, over £100m combined for Adebayor, Barry, Johnson, Milner, Bridge and Lescott, if the club don't bother negotiating and pays Roma, Napoli and Leicester 'what they want' we set a dangerous precedent and will get milked like cows for the foreseeable future.
  3. FFP has been relaxed, and even if it hasn't, the TV deal has rendered the rule irrelevant in this country. Not to mention the Nike deal that will kick in next season, aswell as the Yokohoma one. But re Bonnucci, unlike Pep, Antonio has spent the summer with him, so maybe Leonardo told him not to bother as he won't leave Juve, which means we are focusing on plan B, ie Koulibaly.
  4. I agreed with that up until the last few months of last season, were I thought he was a total shambles, and unlike Matic he has never really been world class, I still have scars from that City game, the way City countered though him, Cesc, Ruben, Ivan and Cahill like a knife though butter still gives me nightmares, one astute defender out of them and those ridiculous counters would have been stopped for the most part. If we are going to sign Kante, id rather give Matic a chance to get back on form, Kante and 2014 Matic would be hell of a battle.
  5. This is United tho, a club that pride themselves on giving manager's time, Van Gaal and Moyes got six months more than they deserved because of it. If it goes capout in the third season like with us mark two he's gone, but if they "only" get top 4 and to the Cup final like with us the first time and Real, he will get a 4th season unless he walks I think. In that case I will hope that the third season proves to be the start of declines for Jose teams rather than the blip, as Jose has never had a 4th season (month and a half doesn't really count) we don't know which yet.
  6. With the possible exception of the Torres and Luiz signing's, i don't think he has personally dipped into his pocket since his early days here probably summer 2006, between 2007-2011 (that January aside) our net spend was at a maximum of around £20m, 2012 we let go a bit due to money from winning the CL, 2013 we had a strong net spend but had to cut down a bit in 2014, hench the sell to buy policy that summer. But with the new TV deals and the Nike one to come next year, we can now spend big again and this time Roman doesn't need to dig in to his pocket, hench signing Bats and clearly looking to sign Radja, Kante and Koulibaly.
  7. Thought ill break the habit of the day and talk about the manager who's actually with us. 20, 24 and 23 were the amount of league goals Juve conceded in his three season's in Turin, Juve conceded 47 and 56 goals respectively in the two season's before he took over, last season we conceded 53. Hopefully he can get our numbers down to that rate, or even lower if were lucky.
  8. Never have I been so looking forward to working the 10-3 shift, means I'll be out of civilisation while this is going on.
  9. Rumour has it he wants the England job. Would have been a brilliant appointment in the 00s, but now I'd prefer Big Sam, England need to start building from the back and if his recent spell here is anything to go by, that man isn't Guus. Not to mention his awful international record since leaving Russia.
  10. If Kenedy makes it here i hope will be as a left back, he just simply doesn't have the close control or intelligence to be a winger. If that is the route he does go down long term, give it a few years and the average Chelsea fan will be every bit as sick of him as they are currently are Oscar (I say a few years because the he's young give him time brigade will cling on till he's 24/25).
  11. Let me guess? You wont rest until Aguero, Suarez, Lewa and Costa are our four strikers.
  12. Oh don't get me wrong, I don't for one second think the players are blameless, but as a player myself who has been in toxic enviroments (all be it ameteur level) I have some idea on how hard it is to perform when so much is happening around you, that plus the fact they have proven their mettle by winning the title in 2015 means I'm prepared to wipe the slate clean and why I also believe they can/will show decent work for Conte. I read some article that the problems were lingering all over pre season, but the beginning of the end in terms of losing the player's was when he threw the New York Red Bulls game back in the players faces a few weeks after it happened. Difference between Jose and the likes of Conte and Simeone (who all have demanding systems)appears to be the mental side of things, Jose seems to burn the squad out on season three after an incredible opening two years, the siege mentality/everyone hates us is fun for a while but eventually the novelty wares off, it's a shame because I was really hoping Jose was back for keeps this time (as my posting history will tell you), but it wasn't to be, and I accepted defeat on that regard after the WHU game, and even did a total 360 degree turn after Bournemouth and transfered to the Jose out side. I think maybe Jose gets bored at the same place for too long, he joins a club all smiles and really happy, and gradully gets more spicky and at season three both Chelsea times and Real he was a lot more on edge. I mean look at his first interview on MUTV and walk around Carrington compared to his body language in his last half a season here and even at lots of stages post January in 14/15, night and day. Conte on the other hand, his third season at Juve was his best performance wise (i know they got knocked out of CL early, but they made a good fist of Europa and broke Italian league points record) and Simeone has had four and three quarter season's and Leti look the opposite of burnt out.
  13. Id be skeptical if he was a starter, but a proven scorer at this level for a rotation player for a low price is tempting, because apart from Costa, Michy, Hazard (last season is a fluke) and an on form Oscar (which is a rare occurrence) there's no real goal threat in our squad.
  14. These same players you are doubting stretched every sinew in their body to bring the title home just 13 and a half months ago. If Jose's methods were the issuethen we wouldn't have won the title, or even gone close the year before for that matter, something happened in that summer to break the team spirit and relationship between Jose and the player's, exactly what were never know, but still something.
  15. It depends really. If we are at absolute worst between 6th and 8th, with some positive signs on display and enough encouragement that when he gets rid of the players "not in his direction" things will really pick up (a bit like Poch in his first season at Spurs) then I reckon he will get the time. If we are one point off relegation in December, with only two players in the whole squad on any sort of form, and the way we are playing making Roy Hogsdons spell at Liverpool look like Barca under Pep, then yes he will be sacked and rightly so.
  16. Because it's an easy excuse to slate the board, and they dont pass up on them. I try not to be too harsh on here to anyone because ultimately we are all Chelsea fans and want the same thing, but the simplistic vendetta against Emenalo and the board is seriously testing my resolve.
  17. Maybe he's evolved over time, or maybe he was a bit unlucky (after all no one was beating the Bayern team that knocked him out), or maybe a bit if both? I haven't been following Italian football that much so cant give an answer myself. On a random note however, could you imagine the media right now if he was heading to United or Liverpool? Especially the latter.
  18. That's not either here nor there, point is it took Didier years and years to win over the whole fanbase, he was getting booed in his first two season's, and after Jose left the first time he kept telling the media how he wants to leave, even went as far as saying things were broken. Do i doubt how he loves the club? Ofcourse not, but it wasn't love at first sight for either party, and the way he acted after Jose left for a while blew anything Courtois has ever said out of the water. Point is we don't really know what will happen with Courtois, it doesn't look like he will stay long term but, apart from Terry, i thought that about our last guard, i was convinced even Lampard was going to leave after Jose left.
  19. Funny thing is, rewind to 2006 and put Jimmy instead of Petr, and that was the exact same thing people said about Drogba.
  20. He would have had to deal with deep defenses a lot in Italy so I'm sure he will be fine. Funnily enough, before this tournament his big game tactics was the question mark.
  21. Not in this current climate it won't, with the TV deals and everything, Payet is the face of West Hams new era, unless their is a direct replacement of atleast the same quality they can sign, he isn't leaving at any price.
  22. Jose first time round broke out long unbeaten run against Tottenham, letting us lose to them for the first time in nearly two decades. lnfact he nearly blew our long unbeaten home run vs them twice. To judge Conte if he gets beat by Gemany is ridiculous but picking.
  23. It will be absolutely brilliant if he pulls off one of these tactical displays at Old Trafford next season, Jose's reaction will be priceless.
  24. One thing I have noticed about Hazard, is even in his average games he still produces, take his stats from the Sweden game, I didn't think he had his best game by a long shot, yet I looked at his stats and ...... • 91% pass accuracy • 66 touches • 47 passes • 5 chances created • 3 dribbles • 1 assist To have three successful dribbles and create five chances in an "average" game is ridiculous, many times I got caught out in his early CFC career, thought he was average then looked at his personal stats and thought "umm maybe not then". It's almost like the reversal of a headless chicken winger who spends a game skinning the full back then hitting the cross at the first defender, the skinning off the full back and the pace looks good in live time but in reality, he's having a shocker, with Eden it's looks like he ain't playing great but actually he is being rather quite productive. Some Lillie fan came on the forum in his early days here and said that Eden's performances are divided into percentage, I can't remember the exact figures (willl be somewhere in this thread if you wanna trawl back to early 12/13) but roughly it was about 10% average or worse, 30% decent and productice (basically the games he looks average on the eye but has the stats like vs Sweden) , 40% very good and 20% like he's touched by god, which is of course what we witnessed vs Hungary. Although I do agree in a sense that the way he plays keeps Real and co away, purely because he isn't ever going to be a massive scorer, he isn't the type to shoot when a pass is the better option, he won't do a Ronaldo, Neymar or Bale and shoot 30 times a game (sometimes from beyond ridiculous angles) to score once or twice.
