  1. That Burnley game has been typical Liverpool under Klopp tho infact it's been typical Pool since Rafa's reign, geuinenly wouldnt surprise me if they dropped points or failing that made a serious drama out of beating Hull this weekend. They remind me of our team few years leading up to Roman's takeover, I remember us Ranieris first full season beat United 3-0, Liverpool 4-0 the result sandwiched in between? A 1-0 loss at home to Charlton. Liverpool on a good day can win well anywhere, even the Camp Nou, but in a 38 game league slogg I question whether they have enough. They could be like what our pre Roman team was, a great cup team (so for that reason I hope they miss out of top 4, hearing about Istanbul even to this day is beyond irritating), but I'd be amazed to see them win or challenge the title.
  2. I have three close Arsenal supporting mates, all of which think Cech is well past it and should be dropped for Ospina, just saying!!
  3. Quite the contrary with Baba, i saw people massively over exaggerating his displays due to the desperation for Ivan to be dropped. Some games he was beyond hopeless and i went to his thread to witness a wankfest, not even Torres had such hopeless displays sugarcoated that much. That was one of the reason's a few people (me included) pointed out that he is actually rather average. Infact the only thing that would have really changed swapping Ivan for Baba is which flank the opposite manager would have targeted. Regarding Alonso however, i do hope we start bleeding him into the team in the PL starting at Hull and hopefully he is 10 times an improvement on Baba.
  4. This Jose no doubt, but Henrique was talking about Jose mark 1.
  5. I mean his constant inclusion for both sides.
  6. Sinclair and Murphy had their list off excuses for Rooney on MOTD just now, didn't know whether to laugh or cringe. I'm at a loss trying to work out the situation with Rooney at club and international level, it's totally bizzare.
  7. Imagine if we signed Rooney in 2013, he'd be our problem now.
  8. You really comparing our transfer policy to Liverpool's? I'm sorry but that's absurd because.. 1. Liverpool had a negative net spend this summer, we hit over £100m and had the highest outside of Manchester 2. Brendan alluded to how the transfer committee sign projects, £15m players they believe they can turn into £50m players, and if they get players without that intention it's usually on the cheap, ie Ragnar Klavan. I highly doubt any of our summer signings were made with profit in mind.
  9. He plays those three because bCk four need protecting as much as possible, Courtois being off form doesn't help either.
  10. He was signed as a squad player that for whatever reason Jose made an untouchable, one of his poorest decisions. Then Hiddink best move was benching him until unfortunate circumstances got him back in by default. Hopefully his days as a starter is over now, 4th choice he should be in this set up.
  11. Hiddink we did it three times irrc, we already matched that tally in four games Also problem with Liverpool is they stop too many easy points, they remind me off our pre Roman team in that respect. City are champions this season no doubt, but beyond that it's a 3 for all, the three least average sides will make it.
  12. A clear sign if improvement on tactical and physical aspects, Diego nets that equalize and were all probably on here now raving about our fighting spirit, which is one element I have believed we have improved on as 6 points won in final ten minutes so far allude too. Unfortunately last season's crap wasn't going to completely vanish overnight, five league games so far we have had three good performances and two rubbish ones, that ratio over the season will probably have us in topfour, achieve that, get shot of more Deadwood and go again should be primary aim.
  13. Poch had similar problems in his first season at Spurs, positive signs but still too much Deadwood in the squad. Even if we finished 6th Id still be behind Conte if we showed positive direction and there was enough there to make me believe that when he cleared the bad apples we will thrive, despite tonight I do believe that. Judging by early evidence we might end up becoming flat track bully's but have some awkward big games, not nesseseirly a bad thing, well not in league football anyway.
  14. Heres my prediction for the game, if we lose there will be at least 5 posts demanding Hiddinks return.
  15. Hes played two CL season's, one of which he got knocked out by that Bayern team no one was beating. Second season fair enough he did screw that up.
  16. Chelsea fans on Roman: He's got no patience, he won't give managers time. Chelsea fans when a manager loses his first game: fraud, sack him. Some of you nutters make Claude look like TY
  17. Best form of defense is to attack notion is a myth, we have been picking of those type of teams for years Arsenal, Brendan's Liverpool, Pellegrinis City (last season aside), even Barcelona. Liverpool are at their devastating best when the opposition defense is committed and their array off attacking talent can attack at pace, to play into their hands like that would be suicide.
  18. Cechs first few years here he had the best defensive set up in English football history protecting him, also the one time he played behind an underperforming defense here (under AVB) coincided in the worst form of his career especially that game vs Arsenal when he had five shots to deal with and let them all in. Im happy with the choice we made and despite that I do admit there's valid arguments both ends, but it's a bit harsh to cite the defense at Leti considering Cech benefitted from an even better back line, also I don't think Cech would have coped any better last season the way we defended.
  19. That's unreal, but on the other hand id rather it was 7 goals with about 20 shots, that way I'd be confident he wouldn't hit a drought at some point. That's an insane tally but that strike rate won't be sustainable over a season, so hopefully he develops well and has even more shots as season goes on.
  20. Im all for promoting youth, but ones either good enough or with clear potential to be, Nat falls into neither category. If we are going down the route of playing not good enough youngsters then we might aswell recall Kalas, Bamford, Hector and Atsu and accept a status as lower PL/ upper championship team.
  21. I would imagine the figure last season was similar every season since I remember, going back to 14/15 even we only won 4 points in the last ten minutes and that were the Everton and QPR games. Drove me nuts so hopefully this newly found figting till the end at The Bridge is here to stay, because even our 04-10 bunch didn't win many points late on, could be the difference from being a dominant league force to a mere cup team.
  22. That's a weird one I have to say and the one critique of Antonio I have so far, my guess is he likes to wait till then because the opposition will be even leggier than say if the sub was made on the hour and he believes the fresh impetuous will have us swarming over the opposition for the last 15 (lets be fair that's worked on the whole so far), @AlesJuve and his fellow Juventus fans will know if I'm close to correct on that or not. Also how points did Juve save late on under Antonio?
  23. Yes because Liverpool's defense is brilliant
