  1. Agreed, Roman out, Hicks and Gillett in
  2. He hasn't had a job since and since United he's been treated like a bit of a joke by the average football fan. You just know if he was with us and done the exact same job, people would sympathise with him and say the fault lies with the player's for downing tools and the board for not backing him, then some gullable executive would have lapped it up and gave him another chance, like Levy and Woodward did.
  3. And in a nutshell this is why we are one of the most attractive job in the world to manager's, they get all off the credit and none of the blame, quite literally. Moyes and Van Gaal fuck up at United and it damages their reputation beyond repair. AVB and Jose fuck up at Chelsea and get another big job within months.
  4. Apart from Ranieri, none of the sacking's happened with the squad in a good moment, each time we were in freefall with no light at the end of the tunnel. If anything it speak's badly for our judgement appointing manager's but all sacking's so far have proven to be 100% correct.
  5. And it's no more an assumption that he would still sack a manager even if we finished 2nd with 88 points and played well over the season? Look how much time AVB got despite dire performances and results, you think he would instantly chop a manager if signs are good despite inconsistent results?
  6. Conte is better and also as shown with Italy can get a tune out of flawed squad's, which makes his behavior over the window all the more annoying.I would actually say Spurs are similar to us circa 04-10, frighteningly effective but i don't see this sexy football people go on about. I agree with the latter two but i believe Drinkwater is a better fit than Matic in our system.
  7. I reckon they might if they shown a similar trajectory and performance level. Roman's "itchy trigger finger" is wildly exaggerated.
  8. Put it this way when Pochettino was thinking transfer plans, i highly doubt he had in mind he was going to sign no one till late August and i bet Llorente Aurier and Sanchez were very far away from plan A. He has also had the likes of Ji, N Kodou (whatever his name is) and Sissoko dumped on him in previous summers, Conte would start world war 3 if we did that to him.
  9. Spurs had an even worse window than us yet are smashing the champions of Europe not long after doing likewise to Dortmund and Liverpool. Conte has acted like a schoolchild over the summer window, maybe if he just got on with it like Pochettino did we might have some more points, home and abroad.
  10. I don't think it's a case of win immediately i think it's a case of show some positive signs, which AVB failed to do. If for argument sake Conte walks in May and we appoint Marco Silva and he has a similar season to say Pochettino's first at Spurs i genuinely believe he will get all the time he needs, infact i'd bet anything he would.
  11. Meh, not that big on longterm i mean if we can get it great but our method's with manager's hardly hold's us back. Pedro not a consistent threat? Or he sells to Hicks and Gillett and we end up in administration within 3 year's. If there's no "big" name then it's up to one of our scout's to think outside the box and identify a manager. It can be done Zidane, Pochettino and Conte himself at Juve are living proof of that.
  12. Wasn't similar said when Jose was on his last legs here? We certainly ended up getting better and doing okay then. Not that i want Conte sacked but if it get's to the point where his tenure is damaged beyond repair for whatever reason, it's not in anyone's best interest to cling on.
  13. Jose these days never changes thing's when it's proven to work. By that, i mean i would be amazed if he doesn't use the same approach he did at Old Trafford in April, question is will Conte learn from that game and make the necessary adjustments?
  14. Carlo is the last manager we should be appointing.
  15. He should have done a lot better for the third goal but from what i saw (had to watch the highlights as i had a commitment that stopped me watching live) he again prevented the score being even worse. Courtois doesn't make the type of saves Caballero did vs Everton mainly because he doesn't have too, his positioning is so good he makes even borderline impossible saves look easier than they are. If he leaves, we will quickly realise just how good we had it.
  16. If we finished 2nd with 86 points in the Pre Roman era but only lost out because United were even better, we would have probably given whoever our manager was the freedom of Kings Road. They haven't yet won trophies however law of averages suggest's they will eventually if they keep up what they are doing and because of Pochettino's coaching they are set for years and can compete against teams with heavier financial backing. I don't think Pochettino is better than Conte but i can't imagine he envisioned no signing's until deadline day and i'm certain he had better players in mind than Llorente, Aurier and Sanchez, but he got on with it and has even turned the latter into a key player. I'm not expecting the title again, but we have got the players to be playing better than what we have been treated too this season and i think Conte deserves his fair share of the blame for that. If the rumours are true and he's decided this is his last season here, then what is he gaining by going on and on about the transfer window? He might aswell focus his energy into going out in a blaze of glory as he would be in a no lose situation (as shown with AVB and Jose, even if you fuck up beyond recognition at Chelsea it doesn't affect your future job prospects).
  17. And the team bottom of that list have been the most consistent team in this league for the last few years (despite not winning it) and the most well balanced aswell. Conte did an absolutely unbelievable job last season, even better than Jose's work the first time but this season he is making silly mistakes and the transfer window can only cover his arse to a point. Don't get me wrong, i am not for a second saying he should go last season gives him enough credit in the bank for quite some time unless we hit a 15/16 or even 10/11 rut, but he needs to wake up because this squad while flawed are not as bad as what's been shown this season.
  18. And this is why he didn't replace Matic last season even though the Serbian was poor. Hopefully Kante and Drinkwater remain fit and he's back in the role he occupied last season.
  19. I actually prefer short corner's, how often are genuine chances created from corners straight into the box? I never worry when we concede one nor get exicted when we win one. When was the last time we conceded from a corner that was launched straight into the box? Think it was Conte's first match incharge vs West Ham.
  20. Reminds me of the story Terry told when he was captain in a reserve match as a kid and he gave Zola a dressing down, one of the other youngsters looked at him in disbelief and told him he couldn't do that and JT turned around and said "why not?"
  21. I would say so, but if we based thing's on natural talent alone the player's that signed up for Wayne Rooney's street striker would be PL player's, Ampadu seems to have the nessesery skillset overall to make it. Musonda for example is a few year's older than Ethan and exceptionally gifted yet was totally out of his depth tonight.
  22. Im liking Ampadu so far very tactically switched on for his age. Musonda has been genuinely awful assist or not, if this is how he performs in training then there's no wonder he's not getting in ahead of Willian even in his current form. Batshauyi is a lot better in general play tonight aswell. Back 3 solid, Zappa really good, Drinkwater, Kenedy and Willian okay, overall good first half.
  23. I think City and Spurs are almost nailed on top 2 in that order with an outside shot of us sneaking in there if we get our act together. I think United are finishing 4th possibly even 5th, i really am not getting the hype with them atall.
  24. Can't recall many times i have been overly bothered when we lose in this competition, even the 2008 final i got over relatively quickly. Of course i'd rather win than lose, but i don't get in anyway worked up about it like i do with the other three tournaments.
