IIRC QPR were the side he always performed well against for Everton.
-
Was going to do Akinfenwa but that would have been a bit too obvious.
-
According to sources he's being looked at as a potential signing if Carroll and Crouch don't happen.
-
Maybe if he only scores 10 goals in his 90 league games (therefore matching Torres's goal stats for us) that comparison can be made, until then, just no.
-
You could maybe make a case for that 2012 and before, but players dictating now? Not even close.
-
Also who else gets annoyed when the commentator's say Willian's a free kick specialist? He had a purple patch during the Jose meltdown period but outside of that i think he's only scored 1 free kick for us.
-
This is not atall me saying i want him but atleast he will hold up play and be an ariel threat if nothing else, Bats does not have ONE single redeeming quality to fall back on.
-
So, just to be clear, all those are Conte's signings but the likes of Anelka and Bentdner were signings forced on him?
-
I have just transfers while he was at Juve and they signed Bentdner and Anelka too, aswell as wanting Llorente here. If he is having any sort of substantial say on these type of transfers then he should have no further say on any. Looking at the overall transfer incomings at his time at both clubs bare's a frightening resemblance to Rafa's at Liverpool.

Problem was, i genuinely believe Mourinho wanted to "change" but got caught out of his depth doing so. He tried at the start of his first two seasons back (i don't believe he would have got accepted back if he didn't make a commitment to adapting to our new direction, even Benitez altered from his usual approach to accommodate it) but quickly reverted to type when results started to waver, a lot of us (me included) thought he may have been doing it because it's getting to the stage results take preference over performance, but in 15/16 it quickly became evident he had no plan atall bar here and now. It was a nice idea but both the club and Jose himself seriously overestimated his ability to 'settle down', hopefully United make the same misjudgment. I think we have signed the type of players to suit Conte's system on paper, we have just stuffed up with the quality level for half of them. Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Zappacosta would be perfect Conte players if he was managing Torino. With good quality scouting we could have found top quality players with that money, one example from the top of my head is Koziello from Nice.

I have been on here since early 2011 and the closest i have ever come to reporting anyone was warning Steve about the influx of trolls around late 2013 time, and i only did that because i was concerned it would ruin the place long term, to which i was proven correct as this place is a ghost town compared to what it use to be.
-
Where the hell have the scouts who found Azpi, KDB and Courtois for peanuts gone? Even factoring inflation since then they would have had a field day with a £200m budget.
-
For months you have been patronizing me and other members (Jason, Styles, Ohforagreavsie and Peace to name a few) solely on the basis of us having different opinions to you. I tried not to call you out because i don't like turning on fellow supporters but your behavior towards me here was one step too far.
-
Not atall i just don't like spoilt people who's idea on how clubs should be run are likely based on fifa career mode and patronize anyone who disagrees with you. The fact is in the summer, around £200m was spent, yes most of that was covered in player sales over gross spend but with good scouting and recruitment it was more than enough to improve the squad(especially as we only lost one vital player and even he was crap for half last season). The problem is who the money is going on which suggests we need to change whatever system we use to decide on transfers.
-
I have just said they aren't investing properly, so you seem to have some strange notiion of what "defending" actually means or was it just another attempt to be a patronizing git?
-
Ofcourse Salah's been better, but in the summer both were considered similar profile, which just brings me back to the point of they are investing better. No, but the point is the moneys there but we are not investing it properly. Thats funny because you made an argument against Tuchell based on "the past" aswell, not double standards atall. And like i how replied to your patronizing/condesending dig at the time, if im sounding like Ty on here, it says more about the state of this place than it does me.
-
The year before we invested better and won the league while they scrapped 4th by the skin of their teeth. If we have a better window this summer does that suddenly make us the more ambitious of the two again?
-
And isn't Ox in a similar boat to Barkley? Ala young player who stagnanted under poor management. As for Keita, he's another one covered in the Coutinho cash, for Salah we can say Rudi. Liverpool are doing things exactly like we are, if not tighter, the only difference is that they have invested better (this season).
-
I can get using the Manc clubs as a sign of ambition but Liverpool and Arsenal? Only reason they "shown ambition" with VVD is because they had the Coutinho money, it's easy to forget that Liverpool have signed players like Karius and Klavan, signings that make even this potential signing and the Papy one look ambitious. As for Arsenal and PEA, if they sign him fair enough, but as of now they are merely linked with him the same way we are Sandro.
-
Lukaku was clearly a foregone conclusion even when we matched the bid, this doesn't have the same vibe. On balance i still say United is most likely, but i think we are in this a lot closer than you think.
-
The Atletico and Huddersfield games he was excellent, he was decent vs Brighton and at The Emirates, pretty poor the last two games granted but the last time he was this poor was vs Wolves last season.
-
He really hasn't and isn't. Very rarely he actually has bad games, even in the average one's he's driving the team and creating more chances than everyone else combined bar Cesc.
-
Breaking up a back three that kept Arsenal comfortably at bay, yes how dare he!!!
-
Doesn't excuse Conte picking Cahill.
-
Im sorry but this is simply wrong on many levels, this side without Hazard would make our 11/12 team look fluent and full of creativity.
