But ultimately we don't know how much his performances are due to the momentum and/or surprise package. Coming to Chelsea as a number 1 is a different ball game to his run in the Arsenal side where he could only have won.
-
Disagree, too risky to sign him based on a months form.

Some of you should stick to FIFA career mode!

He can pretty much play any midfield position (wouldn't be shocked if he could play fullback aswell) and has according to this actually played DM more than any other position. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdaten/spieler/488362 Including many times for Charlton (he was mainly an AM for Swansea though). The uncertainty around the position infront of the back four could give him a potential opening

Gallagher can play there, likewise Ampadu. Hopefully Gilmour wins the place once he's back, can't handle a full season of Kante there.

Speaking of which I remember arguing until I was blue in the face with some on here who thought Liverpool owners were showing amazing ambition after their spending spree in 2018. I kept saying they were only "backing Klopp" because they had a windfall from selling Coutinho and look what's happened since, one back up LB signed in three windows (who was himself a back up option for signing because they wouldn't cough up for Jamal Lewis) and by the sounds of things refusing to pay a modest asking price for Thiago.

I do think there's hope a vaccine could be found a lot earlier this time purely because anyone who's anyone is working on one which is an unprecedented level of manpower. However there's no guarantee and we need to start planning and adapting on the assumption it won't come soon/ever.

But there's also other factors to consider. The biggest elephant in the room is this pandemic could still be going on for a few years yet to some degree or another, I hope not but it's a possibility. Even if everyone stayed at home this summer at some point the world would have to start spinning again or Covid will be the least of our problems. A big part of the economy is tourism, it's the lifeblood for many countries. If hypothetically this does last five years can we realistically ask a young person to give up half their 20s? Or a teenager not to do the things teenagers do for five years? (which would have disastrous social development consequences when they're an adult) Infact above all that would the elderly want to give up what could be over half the rest of their life? I'm sure if it came to it many would chose one month with their family/friends doing things they love doing as opposed to what would effectively be long term solitary confinement, for example my grandparents are worried about severely catching this but they've restarted their social life and meeting the family (taking the appropriate precautions) why? Because the one thing that scares them more than dying is just merely existing. Unless we can 100% be sure a vaccine will be found very soon and it will work, we have to rebuild the world on the assumption we won't find one and have to coexist with Covid.

Probably because (given their age and health) they were statistically more in danger travelling from A to B than they are of the virus.

Sorry should have put it on the OP, he going on loan Marina herself has confirmed as much!

They haven't AFAIK, so if they're quarentining they've either got it, come into contact with someone who has or been to a bar/restaurant where an outbreak has happened.

What about Terry and Villa's friendly's? I've just remembered he was there aswell.

Yeah Portugal were took off last week i think. I don't think Italy are in any danger of being added to the list anytime soon, in terms of cases they're doing very well compared to Spain, France and even Germany.
-
On a side note has that also impacted Drogba and Rice as they were both with them?
-
You don't have to quatentine if you've been in Italy.

Out of all the saves in that video only 2 (possibly 3) were parried into any real danger.

Messi will stay at Barca. He practically runs the club, he's probably doing this to get the president out.
-
If he does leave Barca I hope he goes to Inter just to see if Conte will still even then have the brass neck to moan about lack of backing.
-
Speaking of Romano, here's a short video from last summer on how he is so often first to transfer news.

I hope i'm wrong but i think a title challenge is a season to soon. All the recruits will need time to gel as a team so realistically it will be very unlikely we can match the numbers of City and Liverpool at the first time of asking.

I personally only see Gilmour at DM/DLP, he looks a fish out of water playing higher up. Kai or Ziyech will likely take one CM position while the other is a winger. So that leaves a 5 (for the two 8 positions) of Kai/Ziyech, Mount, Kova, RLC, Ross. Given next seasons schedule and RLC's injury phroneness (not to mention the doubts around his suitability for FL's system and whether or not his form at the back end of 18/19 was an outliner) i think we can do a lot worse than keep Barkley as an insurance policy (if, as i said, he's happy to play that role).
-
I seem to be alone on this but i have absolutely no qualms with keeping Barkley aslong as he knows his place regarding minutes. He always seems to have one month a season where he performs to his hype (under Sarri it was October, last season it was just before lockdown) and with such a congested schedule that could come in very handy, especially if it coincides with a Havertz/Mount/Ziyech injury.

In many ways I'm as excited about Thiago Silva as I am Kai. I'm not delusional enough to think we'll get his absolute prime (which was for me his Milan days) but I do think he will make a huge difference in terms of organisation and leadership plus he's been one of my favourites down the years so on a personal level it feels like the time we signed Crespo. He's like Zlatan in the sense he doesn't play like he's 36. We were never spending big on a CB after all the cash commited into our attack, LB and possibly still goalie, if we got a CB it would have been a penny pinching deal and this is as good as we could have realistically hoped for. That said we will probably have to lower our line a bit for him but with the consistent quality we now have going the other way it's something we should be able to do with results not being too erratic.
-
The fact we are building for the future is what makes the Silva deal appealing, adding a bit of experience (who while isn't there prime self still has a lot to offer) to a young core is known to work. We got Eto'o for a year and Hazard himself said (paraphrasing) playing with him was a key part of his development. Hopefully Silva has a similar impact on the young guns in our backline.
