  1. Nailed it! Jose is a tactical genius & rightly gets the plaudits for it, however he now has to realize that throwing on a DM & a very poor one at that only hands the initiative to the losing side, City, Shalke & now Utd have cost us with the very same poor decision from jose. Time for José to change the record.
  2. Petr has shown his class by not throwing his toys out of the pram, privately he must be disappointed with losing his place but he is showing his character by staying and fighting to get his place back though it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see him leave in January, think he'll review his options then. For me the best keeper in the Prem by a country mile was the Cardiff keeper (Marshall I think?) The boy was outstanding for them last season so he gets my vote, as for top in the world? Difficult to assess, however we have 2 of them and thats all that matters, most believe Neuer, decent choice but watching him play in the WC for Germany he would scare the fuck out of me if he played for us as whilst I like keepers to play as an unorthodox sweeper he cuts a very fine line, as he tends to stand so far out most of the time, I would be telling my players to look at his position during games and take a chance to lob him. Hart would of been in my list of top 5 but he has lost his way in the last season or so, still young enough to recapture the form that got him to where he is but another mistake at the weekend could see him dropped for City's next game.
  3. Whilst there are lots of posts frothing at the mouth over Mikel's contribution for the last goal and rightly so as he finally showed some talent that members on here keep telling me he possesses in his locker but has rarely produced, so credit where credit is due. However as I like to play devils advocate lets also look at his first contribution too. He conceded the foul that led to Everton's third goal (oh go on you doubters get on your download of the game or You Tube and check - you know you want too!) Luckily we went on to score 2 more so neah bother but his arse must of been tweaking till we scored again! He is still in the squad for 2 reasons, the first and has rightly been pointed out is that we couldn't shift him and I'm not going into the politics of that but i concur with it, secondly Romeu and Van Ginkel prob in jose eyes don't possess the experience that Mikel has so he has been given the nod - just, but I bet it was a close call, not sure on the clubs stance with Romeu but certainly with Van Ginkels case I think after his injury he needs to play regularly so the club can assess whether he will feature next season or not, however with the clubs recent policy on loan players to get round FFP then one or both next summer could be sold with Mr Jon Obi most definitely joining them. As for José rating Mikel, well he certainly doesn't trust him to start unless he has no choice, that was evident last season when he selected a out of form CB ahead of him to play in all the big games and only trust his services to 'shut up shop' at a games finale, good management but thats how good managers become great ones.
  4. Beware Danny Ings, could be the difference in them staying up this season and if he starts the season well he won't be at Burnley for long. This could be tough but I expect us to get off to a winning start, looking forward to seeing us play with a decent midfield and a striker on the pitch for a change. Costa to notch a couple.
  5. I've said for the 3 previous seasons who ever finishes above City will win the league and unfortunately I do not see any reason to change that barring age catching up with some of their senior players, we can def win it but my concern is that we have shipped out a few, brought in more in the last 2 windows and that takes time to gel, I just hope we can hit the ground running, I believe the engine room is the key so hopefully Matic and Fabregas hit it off and that will in turn help our attacking players to create and score those chances. City/us Us/City Utd Arsenal
  6. Think the name calling is below the belt but I fully understand why fans have 'vented' I can't really fathom Frank's decision to put himself in this position where essentially he has gone back on his word, it wasn't like he didn't have a multitude of other offers and its not like he is short of doe?! For me this whole situation seems so out of character for Lamps being he is so articulate, for me its an error on his representatives and I will wait a couple of years before being judge and jury, I just can't understand why he would put himself in a position where he could potentially help a rival win the PL - there could be occasions where he scores or makes an assist in the last minute to gain them points that could just make the difference at the end of the season, then I wonder how fans feelings would be towards him? Just seems so illogical. However it is his perogative to go wherever he feels fit to and he is free to do that, we also have to remember the guy gave his all in a Chelsea shirt giving us those emotional nights and a very successful period of our history, I wished that he had adopted Didier's approach and not put himself in this unfortunate position.
  7. Mathematically we still have a chance to win the league this season let alone next.......
  8. Fine lines decide outcomes, 2 headers - 1 hit the post and another straight at Courtois, whilst a strikers tackle gave them the initiative as José had to change his original plans. It's disappointing that we decide to defend like that in the most important game of our season, we didn't do ourselves justice as we have and can play so much better than that but credit to AM who deserved it but also got the breaks at the right time. This defeat will hurt the younger players and perhaps We lacked some experience tonight. Think José has to share some of the blame, Hazard didn't turn up and Dave infront of Cole was a gamble. However we will come back stronger for it, we missed Matic unquestionably. It's not just offensively we need to improve as our midfield needs surgery, Matic being available and a 'Pirlo' type player will get this team playing. Lots to look forward too next season.
  9. Success breeds jealousy thus feeds haters, most successful English side in the last decade, including 2 Euro trophies. To put it simply 'they don't like it' but I've got some more bad news for them, this club is just waking up again and is in the early stages of building yet another successful period, so my message is clear to them, ¶Fuck em all¶ I'd be more worried if we weren't being despised......
  10. First things first, Rami got a kick first but as usual nothing gets said he then over reacted and should of gone but let's forget that Johnson should of gone first for his karate kick to Aspi, no? My belief is that you can forgive the officials for the odd mistake during games but there were so many bad decisions in that one game alone that it is hard to wonder why these officials are full time pro's? If they would perform to a level of consistency then I'm sure the conspiracy theories wouldn't get any daylight, sure we have had some luck which are for the large part one off decisions the very same as when we should of had a pen at Everton and then went on to lose the game..... What's irking fans are that we have lost 2 games recently where refs in both games (Villa also) have made so many bad calls in 90 minutes & all but most of those decisions has gone against us in a crucial run in, some could also argue that Liverpool have been getting some favourable decisions especially where pens are concerned. However having said all that we have to ensure that we put ourselves in a position to not worry about the incompetence of piss poor officiating, the world and his brother no we need a goalscorer and I think its already been said that our decision making in the final third is just as shocking as the officials.
  11. Always said he should play in midfield, he is versatile, we saw his adaptability when JT bombed forward yest, he has the nonce to fill in, same for Cahill but you wouldn't expect Rami, Matic or Lamps to fill that void with confidence?I wouldn't go as far to say that we shouldn't buy another mid but you could also argue that someone like Oscar who has drifted in and out this season, so should we go out and buy another attacking midfielder? I make no illusions that he needs to improve his consistency, also his passing needs vast improvement but it would help him if he were to play him in a settled position regularly rather than fits and starts. Its frustrating when he has performed admirably against quality opposition this season and that's all our rivals in the prem then has a stinker against the minnows like Palace but he certainly ain't the only one.
  12. I never said anything of the sort about pessimism about 'before the match last night' I clearly stated 'last weeks poor defensive errors' and the pessimism after that performance. Think we're clear now, let's look forward to the semi's.
  13. Try to change what exactly? You quote my first post and state something that has left me scratching my head and you obviously didn't read my whole post cus I'm pretty sure I had made some complimentary remarks about last night...... I concur, there are some over exuberant young fellows but there also some that impress me and are wiser than their years - as I said members can learn a valuable lesson not to right us off - no? You've gone from quoting me about something that was bollocks, stating I only see the glass half empty and now you are insinuating that I believe I am a better fan than everyone else, all because I had a pop at the pessimism on here? Good grief, I hate to think what you will come up with once I do come out with something you have every right too! With respect I will leave it there mate, we obviously have some crossed wires.
  14. Others and i have the ability and respect to post positively after a defeat which most thought was our last chance of silverware - we don't have to wait a few days to calm down and then think and then post with a logical head?! I've been nothing but optimistic in my views about us qualifying and stating in my first post the negativity was not just consigned to the match thread yet you then throw the glass empty rubbish at me - priceless!
  15. There were a few of us, perhaps a handful who still believed that we would go through after last weeks poor defensive errors - the pessimism on here was at its ugly worst, I really hope some fans learn a valuable lesson and not write us off when anything is achievable especially when we have a world class manager and a team full of players who have been there and got the tee-shirt before, the experience we have had over the years in this competition is invaluable and it breeds down from the old hands to the new players who will then take it on to the next generation. I stated last week that I wasn't impressed with PSG, they certainly have some decent players but are no team and was proved right by saying these are the nights when our crowd will get behind us, I had nothing but confidence in us going through but I must admit time was going against us, but we wouldn't be denied. PSG had a good second half in Paris but it was our own sloppy mistakes that led to our downfall i knew we had every chance of turning this tie around. Shirley prob had his best game, Cahill and Dave simply immense but Luiz again proves he has what it takes in midfield, awesome performance, if he could just sort out his passing which he has in his locker then we are on to a real winner. Not bothered who we get in the semi's, with our solid defence team spirit and experience in big European ties we can beat anyone - preferably without a 2 goal headstart to our opponents, please!
  16. I gave him a rocket last week as well as most, didn't have a lot to do but kept us in it right in the dying embers, great save that should not be forgotten amongst everything else that happened - get in!!!
  17. If I were José, I would show the squad a clip of the PSG players just before kick off of them celebrating like they believe 'it's job done' from their actions they think the tie is over, that should be enough motivation for our lot to turn this around!
  18. Can't blame Cech alone for this defeat as the whole team were just woeful in the second half but I had warned you all earlier this season that his performances were worrying, the warning signs were there in the first half as he came out flapping. Anything immediately in front of his goal and in the 6 yard box he should act as a battering ram to get the ball if not the ref norm blows for a free kick (second goal conceded) again not only his fault for third but I would expect an amateur to be saving those.
  19. If we hadn't of conceded that terribly shocking 3rd goal then we would not be reading most of the negativity on here, unfortunately there were some very very....very poor performances it had me shaking my head from virtually the 46th minute. The second half was about as bad as it gets, we looked like we were running on empty but what makes it worse is that I had seen nothing to suggest PSG had anything in their locker to knock us out and I still don't which makes things sound so much worse but the reality is, mistakes and a serious lack of determination has put us in this position, José and Barbara are spot on - some of these player seriously need to grow a big fucking pair and I'm expecting us to see some proper bollocks at the Bridge, at least show some spirit if we do go out! Come on peeps, this is the sort of game that our crowd will be rocking and I can see us on it from the first minute, the inconsistencies of this season has reared its ugly head again in the last few games but it wouldn't surprise me either if we win comfortably in the return, I understand the pessimism but PSG though having some decent talent are no team and I'm confident we can do this.
  20. Not sure if success is the correct word but more so improvement, fans with short term impatient thinking will see this season as a failure if we don't end the season with any silverware - therefore no success. The balanced long term patient fans will see this season as an improvement because we are exactly where we wanted us to be - closing the gap in the PL (& that's not over by a long chalk yet) decent run in CL all with a young squad that are still learning their trade, all this with some obvious deficiencies in the squad that will be addressed during the summer. Then we also have the best goalkeeper in the world (imho!) returning, José will virtually have his own squad to choose from, looks like he is still learning about some of the personalities this season, so all the foundations are being laid now for a very bright successful future. I said before I think there has been long term objectives set out and agreed by Roman and José, this years has already been met, next year it goes up another notch and I think eventually you will see the shackles come off with a style of football that Roman craves. Every Chelsea fan should be excited about the future because we are without question heading the right way.
  21. We got what we deserved - nothing. There is some logic in José not setting us up correctly against bus teams but I've said that about every manager since he left in 2007, obviously something he knows he has to work on. However, I counted 5 decent opportunities yesterday where we could/should of scored, Hazard's miss was a catastrophic miss, I said to my mates whilst watching that if we score even with 5 minutes to go we would go onto win the game and Hazards miss was pivotal at the time. Palace also deserve credit, their players kept their shape throughout the whole game, they also never stopped competing, there levels of concentration was phenomenal, I just hope they carry on this form against liverscum when they play them. Which brings me onto Aston Villa who got up for it against us & have been shit since! We need to start games with a bang against bus sides - the longer the game goes on without us scoring the easier it is for these sides to counter us as like yesterday we didn't punish them with the opportunities we had and were made to pay. Those blaming José also need to take a look at some of the piss-poor performances that have been put in recently, you simply cannot legislate for that, the world and his brother have got the knifes out for Torres - fair comment but Hazard prob had his worst game for us and you simply cannot blame that on any manager, Hazard is world class so you do not expect a player of his ability to perform so bad, same can be said of many other players.
  22. Finally a balanced post - well done muzzie, couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately we are in the minority as too many expect us to win a trophy every season which simply does not happen. I knew it would take José 2 seasons or so to mould his own team and make his mark on the squad he wants, he has started the rebuilding process and as you say the more realistic fans can see where we are going but also have the temperament to be patient as it will take time. The fact is José has said many times where the squad needs improvement so he can do no more than be honest about the situation and that should be enough for the doom-mongers..... If anything this season has highlighted some deficiencies which will be rectified, I am 100% sure we will see a different Chelsea next season and the players we need have already been identified with a back up list ready if need be. I keep saying judge the man at the end of next season, just mindnumbing reading through some of the shit on here. Lastly the title isn't over yet, it's not looking good but there will be more twists and turns to come, it wouldn't surprise me if it goes down to the last game again this season, we may well come up short but we are still in the mix which is something we have not achieved for the best part of 4 a years, so for me it's a very good base for next years campaign and who knows we could still win the kin thing yet?!
  23. Say's everything when even Graham Poll is defending us by slating cuntFoy's performance, although he stopped short of mentioning the linesmen also gave us the right to feel aggrieved. It's just been one of those weekend's where everything is going against us - even le Arse are winning! I hope José contacts ole mother Riley and really sticks the knife in about Foy's abject showing, he should be demoted to fucking Sunday league football for impersonating a PL official - tosser! Can't be too downhearted, never expected us to be in this position at this stage and there will be points dropped by our rivals in future weeks to come, we still have a very decent chance but we really must improve this lacklustre stagnant form we've been in for the last month or more starting by beating Galatasaray and then putting an end to Arsses title chances, best way to get a defeat out of our system is to go on another long winning run.
