I felt physically sick when the MH stand were chanting his name at Bolton. I can't believe that after all the chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' which mostly originated from the MH they suddenly change, how fickle? Pluto was spot on, take away that determination the squad has and he would be absolutely fucked, I don't think even Clarke and Ten Cate would be able to save him in that situation. I'll top myself if we end up with him for another season, or Eriksson. If we get Eriksson I'll defo do myself in!
-
Barca deploy him in that winger/striker role that we use in the 4-3-3 formation. Not sure if that is his best position, maybe he is a longterm replacement for lamps in the golscoring midfielder sense although I rarely see him doing the defensive work necessary to fill that void or maybe he is just a straight swap for one of the attacking wingers like SWP or Malouda if we are replacing one of those guys.

Very much depends on your stand point. When I say weak domestic season I am looking at it from the top 4 falling foul to teams outside of that and even lower leagues ie; Luton v Liverpool, Barnsley doing us and Liverpool, 1 premiership team in the last 4 of the FA cup. You definitely could argue that the so called 'weaker teams' just improved their games this season however would that happen as often as it has this season if that was the case? Isn't it more likely that the top 4 have performed worse and allowed this to happen? Thats what I mean by a weaker domestic season which Ollie is correct in saying does make it better for the neutral. Manure's season is interesting because they have one the tilte this year with a relatively lower amount of points than previous years, but their win % is actually the third highest they have achieved in all of Whiskey noses title wins. It possibily shows some inconsistency in their season, spanking teams 4-0 left right and centre and then really struggling against Blackburn and Middlesbrough, but that was where they were vulnerable and we could have taken advantage if we had showed the consistency that we had in previous seasons. Thats where I was coming from anyway, but Warnie is right I guess it could be a glass half full or half empty scenario.

You're boring me now. This is a forum where people discuss anything they like conected with Chelsea including news articles, interviews and pieces of information that people may have heard and believe there could be some legs in it. When someone makes a pre-season prediction on what might happen just because you don't agree with it you have to turn it into some big deal. And fucking hell 'it's not something we should factor into any equation of players coming in and going out this summer', get a life none of us have any bearing on what happens at Chelsea, I'm discussing the possibility of something happening based on pieces of information I have heard.....if you don't like it say 'I don't agree' and why. Not 'You're completely making it up' 'and it's wrong'. Fool.

Why does everyone assume that Essien 'loves the club'? He signed a five year deal because Chelsea offered him a fucking whopping pay rise! And why did Chelsea offer him a payrise? Because other European super clubs were sniffing around.
-
And it seems to me that you have just surmised how I came to my conclusion. I never said anything about Essien wanting to move to Spain just because we won the Champions league (if we win it). The point is thats the last trophy for him to win with Chelsea. He will be very sought after this pre-season and whether we want to sell him or not will be irrelevant, if he wants to go we will have to cash in. And just because the player makes no 'slips' to the media means nothing....in fact how many interviews have you read, heard or seen with Essien compared to other players? He doesn't give too many. And what stupid thing to say, as if anyone in the media is going to say 'oh look some no body from talk Chelsea.net is saying he thinks Essien could leave pre-season. I think there's enough to run a story on it' What a load of bollocks.
-
Ha! I did chuckle. You see I'm about as much use as a cock in a room full of lesbians when trying to get a point across so a badgers arse is an upgrade on my elegance.....
-
As you will see in todays papers cech is asking for a pay rise, he will get it and stay at Chelsea but its different for keepers as there isn't as much choice due to it being a very specialised position. JT is Chelsea through and through if he isn't winning trophies for Chelsea then it won't be the same for him (even though he was a manure supporter when he was younger). The difference with Carvalho is his age he is content to stay where he is for the forseeable future. Lampard I believe is on his way I was absolutely certain before his mother died and not so sure just after but he will leave. Essien is ambitious to the point where that takes precedent over loyalty, he is still relatively young at 25 I think and has ambitions to play in Spain which will be accelerated if we lift the champions league this season. To say that no-one could afford him is pure nonsense, we've proved time and again that we cannot negotiate in the transfer market ie; SWP, Sheva, Paulo. The difference with Chelsea is we still aren't seen as one of the biggest clubs in the world so when Real Madrid, Barca, AC milan and the like come calling the player wants to leave so we have to all of a sudden be realistic with the transfer price as happened with Robben. If Essien was playing for Barca he would have a buy out clause of £100m because more often than not the player will not want to leave anyway and Chelsea would have to pay through the nose to prize him away.
-
You obviously havn't seen the stick I've been getting about saying Essien could leave this summer! But thank you.
-
Ahhh...I guess we will all have to wait and see. If we win the Champions league I believe Real Madrid would be his destination. I would love him to stay but he has won every trophy at Chelsea apart from the champions league, I know its a shock for most but lets see how it turns out. And Nikno...I don't believe the papers.
-
In a perfect World I would agree but you are ignoring one important aspect - players that WANT to leave. 1. Drogba - wants to go and it has showed all season long, he will be sold. 2. Lampard - I was certain he was leaving before the death of his mother. Touch and go I still think he will go. 3. Sidwell - not good enough and we have too many central midfielders anyway. Will be sold. 4. Ben Haim - Complete dog shit, doesn't get a look in anyway. Will be sold 5. Pizzaro - Doesn't get a look in. Will be sold. 6. Sheva - I think he's had enough. Wants to go and will be sold. 7. Belletti - I think Boswinga's signing says everything here. Will be sold. 8. Malouda - What a fucking waste of space. I hope he will be sold but he could cling on for another season. 9. SWP - Doesn't get a look in. Will be sold. 10. Essien - 3 years at Chelsea (I think). Awesome player but if we win the champions league will want a move to Spain. That doesn't mean all of them need replacing because half of them don't get anywhere near matchday squads anyway. The goalkeepers are sorted, the defense is sorted with Boswinga and Ivanovic now, we will need cover here to replace Lamps and Ess (unfortunately). 2 wingers needed, probably Bently (maybe just give Scott Sinclair a go) and Queresma. 2 strikers needed although when I think about it i'm struggling to come up with names world class names who are available. There's my prediction for pre-season transfer dealings....Oh and the special needs one will be moved back to director of football or some other bullshit role. No idea who will replace him but it is looking like Frank rightguard unfortunately.

You're far more elegant at explaining these things than my 6 page rants, but yeah I agree hugely missed opportunity this season to really clean up considering how weak all of the domestic competitions have been. I think people use the whole 'we had some good cup runs' in the wrong context. I mean to say that getting to the Carling cup final and the FA cup quarter finals is indicative of a good season doesn't really make sense to me. I think it would be true for a team outside the top four but in all honesty unless we win the CC and the FA cup they are more of a hinderence. We don't need the money that a good cup run generates (excluding the champions league of course), a good cup run doesn't improve our standing in World football (again excluding the champions league), so unless we win them getting to the final and the quarter final is pretty pointless for any team in the top four.
-
Erm, I said the domestic season has been weak and I can't see how anyone can argue with that. Tottenham who finished 11th in the league won the Carling Cup, Portsmouth and Cardiff competing in the FA cup final and UTD winning the league whilst losing 5 games. Thats poor, with a decent tactician in charge we would made a much better fight of the CC final simply by not employing Anelka on the wing and leaving Joe cole on the bench for the majority of the match. We could've played on sand and I would still be demanding a Chelsea win against Barnsley, there is no fucking excuse for losing to them other than the players not being motivated for whatever reason (the managers job to motivate them or drop the fuckers who couldn't be motivated). And as for Grant not doing anything wrong Hmmmm......try still urging the team to attack with 7 players with 2 minutes to go 1-0 up against Wigan to draw 1-1 add that to the CC final and Barnsly and I think he has done loads wrong. He's done better in recent weeks but it was too little too late. He isn't good enough. Getting to the quarters in the FA cup final then going out to Barnsley when the only Premiership side left in the competition is not a good season. Getting to the CC final and getting beaten by Tottenham because we hardly tried is not a good season. Drawing against villa at home 4-4 when we were 4-3 up with a minute to go is not a good season. Drawing away at Spurs 4-4 when we were 4-3 up with a minute to go is not a good season. Drawing at home to Wigan when we were 1-0 up with two minutes to go is not a good season. Its all relative Ollie if we had lost to Man utd, or Arsenal or Liverpool in the CC final after trying really hard with tactics spot on, if we had gone out of the FA cup at Quarter final stage to one of the top four when we tried really hard with tactics spot on, if we had lost the league to Utd because they went on a 10 game winning streak at the end and we faultered once or twice it would have been a better season.

I can't believe I'm reading some of this stuff! 1. We could still end up trophyless, then everyone will be calling him a cunt again. 2. Has everyone forgotten the dismal football we were playing prior to the last month? The middlesbrough match was only a month ago!!!! 3. I'll say it for the millionth time, it has been a very weak domestic season ie; Spurs winning the CC which we may as well not have showed up for, Cardiff and Portsmouth in the FA cup final and United winning the league whilst still losing 5 games, yet we still havn't managed to tie up any silverware yet. I'll be as happy as the next chap if we win the Champions league which we are more than capable of doing, but we have had a poor season when you look at how wide open all of the domestic competitions have been for one of the big four to clean up. I don't wish harm on him but this season has been poor and mostly because of Grant's bumbling tactics. Once we lose alot of the squad and replace them with Grant's players (if he remains in his current position) we can all lokk forward to an Arsenal type situation where we go four seasons without a trophy but get to a few finals and finish second in the league every so often.

Benitez: United and Chelsea had unfair advantage
C'mon the chels replied to Badboy's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I cannot beleive that someone would even contemplate making themselves look as rediculous as this. What a tossa if he wants to rest players thats up to him if we don't then tough shit. If it were the other way round he'd be moaning that we rested players so we had an advantage. no wonder the fat prick is trophyless again, its always someone elses fault. -

Please, please, anyone who won't be using two tickets I would be very grateful if I could have them. I'll be OK to get one for myself but I want to take my dad who has been Chelsea for 40 years and my son to start his educatio. It would be my son's first match. Think of me anyone who wont be using their allocation. -
I feel this question has to be raised
C'mon the chels replied to Elliott's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
People people. One minute grunt is a cunt the next he deserves credit! If we end up trophyless which is still a very real possibility he'll be a cunt again. Think of this, Benitez has one the champions league and got to the final but would any of us want him as Chelsea manager? The answer is no because he isn't good enough to win the league or even a major trophy season upon season. I think under Grant thats how we would be. Maybe he has done OK recently but the fact is in my view this season we should already have the Carling cup, we should be in the final of the FA cup and strong favourites to win that and we should be in pole position in the league. This season's domestic cup and league competitions have been very weak but as yet we havn't been good enough to exploit that. -
Anywhere near gate 17 and you're OK, I usually sit in the MHU and I've never been told to sit or seen anyone else get told to either. I was in the shed end For the Man utd game and I had some guy sitting next to me from Thailand or Hong Kong, somewhere in that region, and hes was wearing a very femanine pink v neck, and underneath a fucking Utd shirt with Ronaldo on the back. There was a complete lunatic behind me as well who gave this guy the biggest amount of abuse! He lasted about 20 mins and the stewards lobbed him out. Fucking cheek sitting in our end and wearing a UTD shirt.

Avram Grant Lacks Calibre
C'mon the chels replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Excellent peice. The part about Drogba is spot on, he's so frustarting when he starts the pantomime antics. If he concentrated on the match he would probably be worth 10 goals more this season. -
Can't say I'm too worried about the situation as the moves that The club have made to secure Chelsea's financial future are excellent. When I say moves I mean getting rid of the external debt first ie; the only money we now owe is to Roman himself and secondly the amount of money and effort being invested into the youth academy is designed to reduce our reliance on huge transfer fees, in the future I think the emphasis will be on producing a large majority of our players through the ranks.

1. I hope that wasn't a dig as I didn't say thats what I was doing, like I said I've already booked my flights and hotel. I was merely stating that nobody would pay the prices that Ollie was banding around. 2. Playing devils advocate here, again not saying I agree or disagree so dont get on your high horse again. Think of this anyone who has enough loyalty points to get a ticket for the biggest matches will have spent a small fortune going to games, I know its cost me nearly a grand this year. Anyone who hasn't been to many games and just try to get tickets for the biggest matches at face value I have a serious problem with as much as I do with touts. So when you say you prefer tickets to go to real Chelsea fans are you referring to these people, because I would suggest that they are praying on the good nature of the true Chelsea fans who go and support the team against boro, which was not a full house and Wigan etc and spend a fortune doing so. Again keep your emotions out of it and think objectively for a moment about what you are saying, like I said I'm playing devils advocate I'm not suggesting that there is a right or wrong answer here. -
I havn't been using this forum for long, maybe only a couple of months but I've never seen you use the 'c' word!
-
Can't make my mind up between a 1-1 or a 2-0 win for Chelsea......I really hope we go there to kick the shit out of them in their own backyard. 2-0 will be awesome, it'll shut the sickening, thieving little wankers up about their special Anfield European nights, we'll give them a special night alright. Pumped up about this one as you can tell!

Champions League Final in Moscow
C'mon the chels replied to bombayblue™'s topic in Chelsea Tickets & Travel
You wont sell any Chelsea ticket for that amount, even the champions league final. Chelsea fans wont pay that much, crazy mancs or liverscum fans maybe £600-£700. Chelsea champions league final ticket maybe £400 - £500 on the black market. What you should do is get someone you know who will have enough loyalty points to go but wont be, buy there ticket from Chelsea and sell that to pay for your trip!
