  1. What the fuck is with the West stand for some reason its where all of the glory tory boys congregate in their chino's and tank tops to sit there and....well do nothing and be quiet. The whole stand bar a couple of hundred is just completely quiet for the whole match. Maybe you're right it would definitely get rid of a few of those that turn up to be fashionable.
  2. Of course it is a real possibility that Colonel Greenback will still be with us next season as first team coach, manager whatever the fuck you wanna call it. Just as you, JBD, believe he will be I think he will not. In the unlikely event that he is still managing first team affairs next season then I will still support the team as enthusiastically as i have done for the past 20 odd years (fuck me time flies), I wont be happy and It'll be frustrating to think that we could lose any given game, but I just cant stop going to the bridge to support the lads it would be like asking me to chop one of my arms off!
  3. Very true, but the players regard it as a big thing and so do the media and fans. Not sure why when you put it like that as the role of the captain in football is much the same as a cheerleader. Whe and you think about it you really want 2 or 3 motivaters in your starting line up at least.
  4. Its interesting that people think JT has changed, in actual fact he has always been the same. I went to School with JT and am actually on first name terms (no Bullshit, he lived on Thames view estate in Barking and I lived about 1 mile away in Craven gardens just round the corner from where Bobby Moore lived). I can tell you that he is one of the best defenders in Europe, one of the best to ever pull a Chelsea shirt on and easily could have been one of the best players to pull an England shirt on but thing that has always let him down is his arrogance right from when we were at school. When he broke into the first team at Chelsea he was absolutley ecstatic and calmed down a bit because he was new kid on the block but as he got more and more responsibility under Mourinho and mclaren he started to slip back into this 'I'm untouchable mental state' which has done him no favours. I saw the England captaincy thing coming a mile off and unfortunately based on the last few years he doesn't deserve it solely because of his attitude towards officials. Still wouldn't bloody swap him for any othe Centre back in the world though!
  5. I think I saw colonel Greenback do that in an episode of Dangermouse once.
  6. I can't for the life of me imagine any way that Ben Haim could possibly be here next season!!!
  7. Again, look at the timing. He fucked up getting rid of Jose when he did. We had no chance of getting a World Class manager that early in the season. The guy has put £500 million into Chelsea, the success of the club on and off the pitch is the only way he is seeing his money again. I maintain Grant will not be in charge of the first team next season.
  8. What happens is we continue with our loyalty to the club and look forward to some more trophyless seasons! Seriously its not going to happen, but in all truth how does posting it in this forum really make any difference whatsoever, I mean RA isn't going to log on tomorrow look at it and say 'Oh look the fans are unhappy with my appointment, I think I'll do something about it'. The man didn't amount a £10 billion fortune because he tried really hard to please everyone, likewise he didn't amount that much of a fortune because he is an idiot, Chelsea's success is as important to him as it is to us albeit for very different reasons. Grant will not be head coach, manager or whatever the fuck else they call it nowadays next season....I guarantee it.
  9. Most of the Matthew Harding, Some of the East Stand as well. Not me though, don't get me wrong Grant isn't good enough to manage the club but he will be gone at the end of the season so I don't really see the point in getting too annoyed about the situation. I am old enough to remember the relegation days but no matter who is in charge of the team or who owns the club my loyalty is to Chelsea. I couldn't help go absolutely crazy when we scored, Jesus the guy next to me was hugging me both times, I could never switch that feeling off when we score in any game. The way I look at it RA got rid of Jose because he didn't like him, he owns the club and there is nothing we can do about that now, he put Grant in charge because to be perfectly honest the timing was crap and a World class coach would not have been available so early into the season. Grant took the opportunity to negotiate a contract, knowing he would be out and the end of the season, so that he can get a pay off. Everyone is entitled to their opinion so there is no point in slagging each other off for having one, I personally don't understand constantly going on about sacking Grant and having a pop at other fans who meekly accept it on a post that no one connected with Chelsea will ever read other than the fans so it will not change anything. In saying that it is someone's view and should be respected. In conclusion everyone should chill because whatever happens Grant will be sacked. I will contiinue to go to every home game and some away games and sing in support of the team but not boo or cane Grant or anyone else connected with the club safe in the knowledge that things will be changing at the end of the season.
  10. Completely agree with Ollie, to say we can't beat Arsenal is utter crab shit. We can still beat any team put in front of us, the only thig that has changed is that because of Grant we are not confident of winning every single game like we were two seasons ago. We are more vulnerable because of his tactics but thats not the same as saying we have no chance of winning.
  11. Its interesting reading all of the replies and how different people react. I'm 29 years old and went to my first Chelsea match at the bridge when I was 4 and the brainwashing began! Personally I've loved the last 4 years winning trophies and competing for the top prizes and being able to go and watch the superstars perform everyweek, it sure beats the days mid table finishes with nothing to look forward to past Crimbo. Grant is a twat and he will get the sack at the end of the season and yes we have been spoilt since the appointment of Mourinho, but the standard has been set, if we get rid of Mourinho and don't replace him with someone just as good or better then we have the right to feel aggreved as that represents a stepbackwards. The thing that does drive me mad is when I go to Stamford bridge, which ismost home games, and there are people there with no passion or connection with the club whatsoever, but if you go to any of the elite clubs around Europeyou will see the same it is the price of success in some respects. Also I think some of the older Chelsea supporters would be far more comfortable with the current regime, excluding Grant of course, if we had less reliance on big money transfers and more home grown players coming through which appears to be the plan. The futures bright we're just having a dip.
  12. Still not sold on Kalou, he does still have some woeful games. But he is still young and is showing improvement.
  13. Like a fool I still believe we can win a title, I'm sure Grant's tactics will put paid to that by Sunday evening. I do agree it was the one game I am never cofident in, even when yhe special1 was in charge, which is a bit irrational as he never lost to Arsenal. Fact is I don't think we have a coach capable of beating any of the others in the top 4.
  14. I'll be honest here and say I was pretty much expecting a draw, at the start of the match I was anyway. When we went 3-1 up I thought the game was over and thanks to Grants incompetence we did end up drawing. All in all though I don't think this result puts us out of the title race (I think Grants tactical stupidity may do that over the next month). I do actually think that Man you and Arsenal will drop quite a few more points before the season is over, however our inability to get results against the other 3 of the top 4 will mean that we cannot take advantage of it. Games that Mourinho never lost or rarely lost: Cup finals (1-0 Jose) Cup matches against lowly opposition (2-0 Jose) EPL matches against Man you, Liverscum and Arsenal (3-0 Jose)
  15. Mancini did a you turn and is apparently staying with Inter, still when you turn around and say 'I'm going' you're days are numbered whether you have changed your mind or not, it just may take longer. I think we'll end up with Rjikard or Van Basten myself. At the minute I'd settle for just anyone who knows how to win important games!
  16. Sad wanker, have you got nothing better to do than to go around looking at other forum sites asking them to take poata down?
  17. They may well do but a draw for Manure at the riverside and at Ewood would still suit us I think. I think whoever wins the league now will only do it by 1 point.
  18. I fancy M/brough and blackburn to take points off Manure in April and then us to beat them at the bridge. Sunday could be well tricky and we'll end up with a draw.
  19. Danny Granville was a buy from Cambridge wasn't he??? I don't think he came through the youth set up.
  20. Something new in a game like this! Are you crazy???? We must go with the strongest starting line up Cech (If fit) Ferraira - Carvalho - Terry - A.Cole Maka (Ess if we end up chasing the game) Lamps - Ballack SWP --------Drogba/Anelka------J Cole Drogba and Anelka are both playing shit at the minute but I would probably go with Drogba.
  21. These negotiations have been going on for a very long time, and unfortunately the outcome, in my opinion, is already set. Lampard will not be at Stamford Bridge next season all thats happening now is that they are publicly trying to switch the blame to each other. If everything was OK and Lamps wanted to stay and Chelsea wanted him to stay you wouldn't hear anything about it.
