  1. Grant has lost the players confidence, clearly. He really should not have accepted them holding a meeting over his, should have demanded they attend now, threatened with fines and what not. At least then the players could respect his discipline. But instead, he just meekly accepts it, and now the players know they can get what they want. That spells trouble, unless someone in the group of players, i.e. John Terry is holding the utmost respect of the players and manages to keep them in order himself. I do think he'd be able to do this, but it is really a manager's job. By the end of the season, JT is going to more qualified to manage a football club than Grant ever has!
  2. I'm certain it wasn't just because of those games, it was because he was hardly a regular the season before either. We brought in yet another midfielder in Steve Sidwell, and frankly, there just wasn't a space for Lassana in our side unfortunately. And I doubt he'd have been happy staying at right-back, nor would we really want him to, I think that's just a fact we had to face. For all we know, the club were fighting to keep him all summer.
  3. For the fifty-hundrenth time HE wanted to leave, his contract was running out, so we let him go when we did so we didn't lose him for free!
  4. I think so, but I can't see that happening.
  5. For all we know he could be talking about Chelsea there
  6. Hmm I think Layla would be right, must be a misprint. The Derby game was moved due to the Barnsley game, and it may be that whoever wrote that article didn't have an updated fixtures list.
  7. What that means is he will miss these games: Barnsley Sunderland Tottenham However, if Barnsley hold us to a draw, the replay will be before the Tottenham game, thus Frank's ban will count for the replay and will be finished by the Spurs game.
  8. Well he's a scout, and I presume he's still with us, yeah.
  9. I very much doubt I will have any reason to go.
  10. I don't know why you're all convinced of Sinclair, I am not very convinced at all. He's done it against lower league teams, but that's not good enough! He was awful against Liverpool in the Carling Cup for example and they were playing a reserve team. He's got fantastic potential and I'm sure he can do the business for us soon, but he's not doing it yet in my opinion.
  11. What a shambles that the captain is doing the job of the manager.
  12. It's a slogan for a mobile phone (cell phone) company over here called Orange. The future's bright - the future's Orange.
  13. If Avram continues to fuck up though perhaps they won't be bestest pals for much longer.
  14. I really do not see how that is shocking in any way. Are you cracker, are you cracker, are you cracker in disguise!?!
  15. I didn't really read this thread before... How the fuck did they connect steel to football indeed!? Crazy.
  16. Grant has had his chance. We have the capability and resources to attract a top manager and that is exactly what we should be doing.
  17. Well he grabbed a hatrick against a side that knocked out several Premier League opposition, so he can't be too shabby.
  18. Huddersfield... and before that, Spurs, if I'm not mistaken. We CAN do it, but it seems like a tough ask at the moment.
  19. I don't think he's done well enough recently to justify a place in the first time. Next season he can properly fight for his place, but this season he hasn't had enough of an impact, although if he did in the Huddersfield game I missed it, however that's only Huddersfield. This isn't a silly move at all, this is about giving Scott some more valuable first team experience. He's not good enough yet.
  20. You have made a good point warnie there about the returning players unsettling the team. I do feel Terry had to come in though because he is club captain and should always be playing in a cup final if he can. Lampard though? Would have been understandable if Ballack played. The main problem for me was a) long balls against Woodgate and King Playing Anelka on the left wing instead of Joe Cole or even Kalou and c) complete ineptitude with regard to motivation
  21. I am already repeating myself, but before anyone does go the way of "I told you so", remember that I gave Grant a chance in my eyes only because it was obvious he wasn't going anywhere anyway. I was as unhappy with his appointment as anyone else on here. Time for him to go for sure, but we're not gonna get a decent replacement until the summer. Sack him now, install Clarke or Ten Cate as caretaker manager and make a proper appointment when a manager becomes available or the summer.
  22. Hehe, yeah, watch out world. This. Entirely this.
  23. I think you might be right Esk, what scares me is Grant might argue that he needs these new players to be successful and then Roman will give him another year.
