Well it is a bit unfair really. This ruling affects Liverpool as much as it does Atletico, and as such is the wrong decision. It should be played behind closed doors in Madrid, except for Liverpool fans with season tickets or something like that.

But are you paying your £45 to expect the players in front of you to perform, or because you want to support your team? For me it's the latter. I want the team to do well, and as such I don't think it serves my purpose to boo the players, destroying their confidence and their ability to perform as a result. They may be earning millions, but that doesn't make them any less susceptible to lack of confidence brought on by needless abuse. To be honest though, Bridge has shown a lack of ambition on deciding to stay at Chelsea and sign another contract despite it being apparent that he will never regain his first 11 place taken by Ashley. That's fine in itself, but I can see why he might not try as hard as he used to in games. Still it's not as all bad as Townsend is trying to suggest. Bridge had a poor first half, but once he came to grips with what Cluj were doing to hold him back he played quite well I thought.

If we had managed to sign Robinho, we'd be fine right now. We'd have four senior wingers, one of which can also play as a centre-forward (Kalou) and we wouldn't be worrying. Shows how much difference a player makes. We'll just have to consider Sinclair as first team, tis all.
