Didn't get a sniff as far as I can remember. I'm sure that statement was released just to get him to sign a new deal etc. Now they've got him locked up for the next few years they can do as they please.

ZOUMA THE GAWD IT'S BEEN A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOG, A LONG TIME COMING BUT I KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW CHANGE GONE COME....OHHHHH YES IT WILL!
-
Yeah, but he also said he wouldn't play for another Premier League team

September 2014: 0 minutes and then loaned out in January. Full-time member of the first team squad!
-
Harry Kane got the chance to go back to his parent club and force his way into the team AFTER an unsuccessful loan. Do you honestly believe Harry Kane could come back to Chelsea after a bad loan and get some minutes? It would never happen no matter how talented he is and/or how hard he worked. Unfortunately for our players an unsuccessful loan is almost a guarantee they have no future at the club. The loans can be bad for a plethora of reasons, but they will still be deemed not good enough and end up going out several more times.

The Turkish Airlines hate is the most baffling thing I've ever seen on this forum.

Welp, I guess Baker is the next academy player to get lost in the loan system. This will be the first of several loans before he's sold/released. Right now the mood is 'impress here and he will definitely get a chance'. By the 5th or 6th loan it'll be 'well he clearly was never that good'. And in the meantime there will be other players hyped up as 'THE one to finally break through since John Terry'...and then they'll go through the same process. The Chelsea way

Working his magic already

Yeah but settling on a release clause is incredibly hard. Something that makes Hazard attainable but also protects Chelsea's interests...yeah, that's something that would hold up any new contract.
-
I've just put on the Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid game and Atletico have an 18-year-old LB in the team, marking the most expensive player in the world. Can you imagine Christensen or someone ever getting a game against a Newcastle let alone Real Madrid?
-
Thankfully I don't think it will break Zouma; he probably knows the deal by now and is working hard to make it impossible to keep ignoring him - just look at how much his game has improved since the pre-season. At this rate in a few months time Mourinho will have no choice. Zouma's coming for that spot and he will take it. And I bet some people will say 'well, that's how it should be' but why? Zouma deserves a chance right now, in fact he has done so for several weeks in my opinion.
-
He won't. Jose covered himself by saying Cahill bounced back after the Watford game which in his words 'was important'. Zouma will remain firmly rooted to the bench until the next round of the FA Cup.
-
Yeah, that is also a big part of it, and even when there's been injury he tends to use senior players out of position rather than use a younger/untested player. Honestly, Chelsea is the only team in the world who would build the academy they have/sign some of the most promising young talent in the world and then hire a Mourinho type.
-
Drogba: "Unlucky, son. Don't worry, though, I'll win it in Munich so you can at least have the honour of losing to the eventual Champions." Messi: "My name is Jeff."
-
I wouldn't say it's a lack of balls to be fair to him. I just don't think he really cares about it at all, and certainly not in the way we or the club want him to.
-
Zouma comes across as extremely professional which for his age is really impressive. He's 20-years-old but conducts himself like an experienced vet. And I've always thought the quiet, lead by example type is > shouting and pointing guy.
-
Let's be all the way honest here: there is definitely something going on considering Hazard has had an offer(s) for several weeks months now. I wouldn't be surprised if what's holding it up is a release clause. The next contract Hazard signs will take up most of his prime years (24-29) and if he wants to move on he'll be looking to do it in 1 or 2 years time, and a 5-year deal makes that extremely difficult.
-
It seems as if we've adhered to it only because it could potentially screw our biggest competitor over and it hasn't really slowed Man City down at all.
-
I've heard something alluded to by City fans about Negredo having some sort of trouble in Manchester and having to leave quickly. I haven't heard anything more than that but I remembered it because it was so strange.
-
Yeah but can Messi defend?! Does he PRESS?!?!?!?!?!
-
I forget he exists until I check this forum, so I think I will be OK if he signs for Leicester.
-
Hazard would let Costa take the penalty; he wouldn't argue with him and act like he's single-handedly saving the world from a meteor.
