It will come down drastically because a few players have left. Also the new signings like Ramires, Benayoun, Luiz etc are not on huge wages. Only Torres has arrived on big wages.
Just goes to show how quickly things change. Paulo was a good player for us and the other 4 are genuine club legends; the best keeper, best defender, best midfielder and best forward this club have ever had imo.
I'd be amazed if more than 2 players left. I can somebody like Zhrkov leaving and being replaced. Who else? Possibly Ferreria? But Malouda, Drogba and Mikel levaing? LOL This is wishful thinking from people who are scared of us.
Yup! Kalou on the bench with limited minutes is a good idea. And Torres does something none of the other strikers in our team do well or even want to do...play on the last man and make runs in behind. This forces defenders to drop deeper and allows for more space for others to operate.
You guys don't see how much attention Drogba gets from defenders. Kalou had a good game last night because he was free almost all game, the Sunderland defeners rarely bothered to mark him because Drogba was there and Anelka just behind. Now imagine Torres was playing instead of Kalou? He would have scored a hattrick last night I am 100% certain of that. Defenders mark Drogba and often double up on him like Bramble and Onuha did last night. Kalou was there floating about as the spare man no wonder he had a good game by his standards. Anelka Torres Drogba We need to see that in action first and foremost before anything else in my opinion. Benayoun would have been perfect cover for that role in behind the two strikers.
Top 2 finish in the league and put up a strong fight in both the cups compeititons. Winning is a bonus all we can ask for is effort because we have some great players. It would be a shame not to have a strong finish to the season with this group.
See this is what we have missed...competition for places! Even though I didn't want us to spunk £50m I'm just happy for genuine compeititon for places and as a result a stronger team and bench. If we can avoid any serious injuries in the next few months then it's going to be a crazy end to the season!
Matic didn't look impressive at all in the summer games although to be fair not many players did and pre-season friendlies aren't much to judge on. He just looked too gangly and slow footed to ever make the grade. A capable passer but sadly in my opinion he just wasn't good enough. Does anybody know how he's been getting on in Holland?
He is a blue he was a red Torres, Torres He left the Kop he loves the Shed Torres, Torres He use to go out on the rob But now he's got a proper job Fernando Torres Chelsea's number 9!
