  1. He only plays against decent opposition when Utd want to shut up shop and play on the counter. Why would you ever want that sort of player when you can have any player that you want? And even for that role De Jong is 10x better.
  2. Park though! I think you've bought too much into the hype spread by Utd fans/media that he is some must-have, quality footballer. He looked good against us last year because we were so sh*t! Barcelona ran rings around him in the final. Where was all that hard-worker stuff when facing quality? He was made to look the painfully avergae player that he is by a good team, probably the only good team they faced last year because no Premier League team was worth sh*t including us.
  3. Haha, well said. Park! Still amazed. I think Max is trying to go for an alternative option just to come off a little more enlightened than us chaps who want goals! :champions:
  4. Surprising to say the least. He's an important player for Utd because he suits their style in the crunch games i.e. soaking up pressure and hitting on the counter. I'd rather we play and take the initiative and I don't think he has the sufficient quality to play a part in that sort of game. Hard worker with very little quality imo. Picking him would be a wasted choice but to each their own.
  5. Fair enough, your choice. One question, would you want him in the team every game or just as a squad player?
  6. Good choice. I agree with you that he can pretty much do everything in the final third. It's why the Sneijder to Utd rumor makes no sense to me, he does everything Sneijder can do but 10x better.
  7. LOL. Of all the wonderful players there are in the league you go for Park? Seriously? Only player I would take from Utd is Rooney and possibly Nani.
  8. Oh lol of course, silly me. Messi is the best player of his generation. I laugh when people compare him with Ronaldo and ask who is the best. Ronaldo has changed so much over the years. He is now just an athlete who runs in straight lines and shoots on sight. He lost all his magic and flair.
  9. LOL, what's that supposed to mean? SIlva is doing very well in England mate. He is pure quality.
  10. Welbeck is benefitng from playing in the position he has been playing all his life. Sturidge is being converted into a RW and there are going to be growing pains along the way. He isn't going to play through the middle like he has done most of his young career. You all know I rate McEachran very highly and he is without doubt our future but Cleverly is 3 years older and has way more experience. Man Utd fans will no doubt claim their two players are better and we will obviously say ours are better. For the record I really like Welbeck and think he will be a England international for a long time...hopefully so will Sturridge.
  11. So you have the choice of taking one player from any team in the league, who do you go for and why? My choice is David Silva. Simply an amazing player who is exactly what we need i.e. vision, technical skill and final pass ability.
  12. I know, it's very pleasing. Now it's just about giving them a go!
  13. Good post. I just want to see us have some sort of plan for now and the future and at the very least compete seriously even if we don't win anything.
  14. Coceding a sloppy goal in the first 5 minutes and then playing like crap for the rest of the half. You think people are happy to pay £60+ to watch Kalou miscontrol the ball? It's a two way street mate. The fans will cheer but don't expect to charge ridiculous prices, serve up rubbish football and people to be happy.
  15. Essien's career is over in my opinion. Three big injuries and two bad knees. We've signed Romeu and Ramires and will try to sign Modric. I think the club themselves know that Essien is never going to get back to his level of 2006. Lampard is nearly at the end (already there if you ask me) and Ramires will be a very valuable squad player.
  16. Sod it, I'd rather play McEachran and Modric together in midfield. Mata, McEachran, Modric! The three M's bring creativity and technical football back to Stamford Bridge! Might even get a diamond going and get Mikel in. Mikel, Mata, Modric, McEachran. Marvellous.
  17. Spot on. You look at a player like David Silva who plays precise one-two touch football and he is creating play for City. Lampard doesn't care about that. He just wants to run into the box and get on the end of something. He is supposed to be the playmaker but is playing like a forward in midfield.
  18. Simply amazing that isn't it! lol
  19. Excellent signing. Hopefully we get one or even two more players in as well.
  20. They always do. Unsurprisingly Chelsea paid the most in 2009-2010 - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9244286.stm
  21. Fair enough. I'm just sick and tired of seeing the same style of boring, uncreative sideways football.
  22. The commentator said during the game 'the manager changes but the players always stay the same'. It is absolute insanity starting a game with Kalou and expecting him to play well.
  23. Gotta agree with you there. It's still the same old same old. How much can the manager really improve things when it's the same exact team as last season. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
