I think I must be in the minority because I don't rate Balotelli as much as most people seem to do. I mean don't get me wrong, he's clearly a decent player but the way people speak about him you think he was the second coming of the Brazilian Ronaldo or something. He wouldn't even be in my top 5 or 10 of strikers I want to become our new forward.

The idea that Hazard is a diver is laughable. It's almost blaming the player for having good close control and dribbling skills and using them to his advantage. Hazard is far from a diver.

How unfortunate. I remember how good he was at youth level, he was so technically gifted he made you dream he could do it at the senior level. He's the same age as Oscar which lets you know just how big the gap in quality is from the super talented guys around his age. Wish him well wherever he goes.

Because Southampton were almost exclusively attacking the side of the pitch Mata was on. They were getting a lot of joy out of him towards the end of the first half and carried on doing it in the start of the second. Mourinho, to his credit, tried to give him a chance but it happened again for 5 minutes non-stop. He had to make the change. After he was taken off there was a period of play were Southampton had the ball and had absolutely no avenue of attack. They literally just probed for a minute because there was no weak-link. When Mata was on they just worked the ball around him at ease.

It's clear to me he can't adapt with this set-up and what the manager requires. He just doesn't have the speed, stamina and energy. I would rather have a lesser player who fits the system, that can be rotated with the others, than have a quality player who doesn't quite fit. I feel really sorry for Mata but this is a tough situation. It's be best for all parties if he moved on in the summer and found a club that will accept him and will make him an important member of their team. He deserves that and I would wish him well.

Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow Oscar will rightly get a lot of credit but Willian was just as good. What a player this guy is.

And there's also the possibility of a game or two if he really impresses at that level. It's very unlikely but you never know, Mourinho liked him enough to play him in the summer and was very impressed.

I agree that he's been inactive for too long but throwing him in at the deep end as a result isn't perhaps the right thing to do. Let's get him back up to speed before we ship him off to Vitesse on loan.

Why the rush? He can officially play games for the youth/u21's now so let him get 5 months with them. A loan move for next season gives him enough time to have a decent pre-season and start at the beginning with his loan team. Glad to read his comments, sounds like a great kid.

I think if he can contribute the way he did on Sunday then I don't care if he doesn't get the stats. Don't forget he played a part in the Hazard goal with a slick pass in the build-up and set up the Lampard shot which was saved by Mignolet. That was as complete a performance as you're going to see from an offensive player, it was that good.

True. I was just thinking out loud to be honest, I doubt he'll ever get a chance here. I just read today Chelsea were looking to sell him last summer and Vitesse talked them out of it!

Mourinho clearly doesn't rate Bertrand and his injury has been a rather convenient excuse. We didn't even hear he was injured until like a month after it happened, and by that time Azpi was already first choice LB. Patrick is having a wonderful season but then he's already had quite a few with them already. We know he's good at that level, why not give him a go? It's clear we're going to strengthen the LB position in the summer so why not give one of our own a chance for the next 5 months before we go spending big money? Perhaps if we did the same with Sturridge we could have saved ourselves 50m. PVA is 23 with seasons of pro football under his belt. He isn't some 16 year old being eased into adult football for the very first time.

It'd be great if we recalled PVA in January and gave him a chance to see what he can do. Otherwise we're just going to buy another LB in the summer without ever having given him a chance.

If we can play the way we did in the first half regularly then I will be more than content. When we press and play on the front foot like that I don't think there's a team in the league that can live with us and that includes City.

So how would you explain the chances he gets? I don't see Torres/Ba getting those chances.
