I know some of you will enjoy reading this Here is the English Premier League's Best XI according to the Castrol Rankings Index. The system uses mathematical formulas which evaluate various player performance in terms of how individual actions either assist or prevent goals. The system takes into account the strength of the opposition and the time in a game the player's actions occurred. Below is a 4-4-2 formation plus bench players according to where they rank on the Castrol Index. Goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann (Wolves) Defenders Ashley Cole (Chelsea) />; Nemanja Vidic (Man Utd) />; John Terry (Chelsea) />; Alex (Chelsea) Midfielders Florent Malouda (Chelsea) />; Frank Lampard (Chelsea) />; Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal) />; David Silva (Man City) Forwards Didier Drogba (Chelsea) />; Wayne Rooney (Man Utd) Substitutes GK - Edwin van der Sar (Man Utd) DEF - Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea) />; Gareth Bale (Tottenham) MID - Nani (Man Utd) />; Paul Scholes (Man Utd) FOR - Carlos Tevez (Man City) />; Jermain Defoe (Tottenham) http://au.sports.yahoo.com/football/news/article/-/7878830/castrol-index-epl-best-xi well 3 defenders out of 4 , 2 midfielders out of 4,and one striker out of 2 !!! talk about EPL conquers .:cfc: also was a bit dissapointed not to find peter cech out there .

ok great , so we have 2 CB slots to fill and everyone thinks that 3 CBs plus a promising youngster is more than enough even though one of the 3 CBs is a back up for RB as well , but everyone thinks it won't be a problem and it's a great chance for bruma. on the other hand we have 2 winger slots and we have 6 players fighting for it (malouda - anelka - kalou - benayoun - sturridge - zhirkov) plus a promising youngster (kakuta) , and you seem to think that this is just fine and kakuta will get his chances no problem , and you think benayoun's move was a very good one and we needed him , a bit contradictory i would say !!!! , it looks to me like some people will just blindly agree to whatever carlo is doing just to show they are faithful supporters who don't moan . well everyone can has his own opinion and principles but i think it's not a bad thing to discuss the negatives of the team as well as the positives , and we have to discuss that based on our own opinions , so it's not just like " hey , carlo is the best and any decision he makes is right and anyone who disagree is wrong ".

don't we have Ivanovic , Bosingwa , (another CB) Terry and (another CB) Bruma injured right now .... i guess it's possible after all.
-
may be keep carvahlo the problem again is that ivanovic is the main cover for bosingwa , terry and alex . one player can't cover for three places because his injury will count as two injured players the back up RB and the CB . ferrera is not a reliable back up nowadays , i mean he gets ripped appart by the likes of wigan , westbrom. and stoke what will he do if we had to play him against arsenal or man city or man utd .
-
i can't see us having any problems in attack , we have a lot of options there malouda - Drogba - anelka with subs as (zhirkov - kalou - benayoun) also we have three very promising youngsters of kakuta - sturridge - borini , so i am not worried at all about this area , if anything i am only afraid kakuta and borini won't get enough chances (hope i will be proved wrong in that part) the area where we don't have enough cover is obviously our defense , currently we have iva , bos and terry out also bruma is injured so we are gonna have to push either essien or mikel back to our defense . but hopefully they will be back very soon and only some of them will miss west-ham's game . but if a situation like this repeated it self we might end up starting with ferrera - bruma - alex - a.cole and tbh i am not gonna be very comfortable with that line of defense .

KAKUTA
-
always hoped that conor clifford can do that !!!!
-
i would understand if the boy asks for some first team action guarantee before signing a contract , he did all what any youngster could possibly do to prove he can be the next biggest football phenomena on earth . the greatest players in this century like messi and ronaldo have done less than him as youngsters and had more opportunities while they were at his age . hope carlo will start the manufacturing process of the next blue legend .
-
yes , not too much wrong ... i agree with you but not too much right as well .
-
well , it's pretty obvious that our squad lacks depth. you might say that is because we wanna give our youngsters their chances , well three out of those 6 players are forwards (sturridge - kakuta - borini) while we have the same no. of forwards as last year , we lost joe cole but we got benayoun .so i can't see how is this better for them ??? so this will be how it works malouda - Drogba - anelka are starters if anyone of them gets injured kalou will come in if another one is injured then benayoun will be next if our luck is so bad that a third one is injured then sturridge will come in and even if another one is out then zhirkov will come in . so for borini and kakuta who a lot of chelsea fans can't wait to see, will never be favourites to start games even if all of our three forwards are injured !!!! so most probably they will get the 7 - 10 minutes in the end of matches against weaker teams when we are up 3 - 0 or 4 -0 , the only player i can see benefiting from this realistically is Bruma and may be sturridge but for others i don't see them starting or getting the needed time except hopefully in the carling cup . i think we should have kept matic and mancienne who imo would have provided much much better cover than ferrera my point is when you have three promising forwards that you want to give them a chance and you are trying to make your squad thinner so why don't you just let some forwards of or at least don't get new old ones instead of just letting off defenders and midfielders where you don't have the same no. of promising youngsters coming in .

you are gonna have to be happy with only benayoun and ramires because kalas is out on loan and so is delac now Source

so did ronaldinho when they got him . players are not always about age , you can always find a ronaldinho or an adriano who have been past their prime by the time they were 25 or 26 and you can also find a giggs or a Drogba who is hitting 33 while this is his best form. so back to my point robinho , ronaldinho and ac milan's deals are alike rivaldo and veron because those players are all finished articles they are only gonna get worse , they are definitely past their prime that's why i compare those deals with us getting veron and rivaldo . and that's why they are cheaper just like our sheva we got him for 30 millions 2 years later how much did we get for him
-
if we are looking for inspiration during terry's absence , there is one man who is best suited for this job ... it's Didier Drogba
-
i agree with the part of us being not able to sort the best deals out , we are not very persuasive when we are trying to get a new player . i mean we have had very long negotiations going with a lot of players and none has been agreed . starting from robinho going through torres and aguero ending with neymar . even the players that did actually sign for us did go through a lot of yes and no before they did like ramires who should have been one of the easiest transfers ever . but to say the AC milan are the best in recruiting players then you got it all wrong .... i mean if we try to buy rivaldo or veron now they won't cost us 4 millions combined but that doesn't mean we got the better part of the deal

now that we have terry , ivanovic and bosingwa all out injured .... do you still think we shouldn't have bought one defender ???!!! you like this back-line : ferrera - bruma - alex - a.cole this doesn't look good , i hope terry , iva and bos will all be back asap -
yes franco go go go .. i wish you all the best of luck in any other club than chelsea.
-
great to know that members have to chose a side whether a kalou fan or a kalou hater . well i am starting a third one that says we love chelsea very much so we are gonnna support all our players including kalou as long as he is a chelsea player although we think there are few players out there that will do a better job than him and we would love to see them playing for our team e.g. kakuta i am curious if anyone would like to join me as everyone here seems to have made their minds to be one of the other sides so the first member that will join my side will get to name it .
-
Never mind , i was just annoyed by the fact that people praise kalou more than anyone else and i have no problem with praising kalou but that is too much to make a topic just for praising him !!!!!
-
woow i can't believe Drogba got just 2 votes including me !!!!!! he was absolutely brilliant the main reason behind most of our 14 goals !!!! and essein getting 0 votes !!!! his drive from midfeild has been irreplaceable and one of the main reasons we couldn't concede any goals so far you can see how he comes back quickly to break opponents counter attacks . malouda was great as welll as mikel but i think mikel was great compared to mikel if you know what i mean not compared to essein . but i have noticed that this was the first time in my life to think of the best team player without lampard being in there .. i hope my favourite player will be back to his game very soon . also surprised no one have voted for "kalou" yet
-
yes , i agree with you but whether you like kalou or not you can't just praise him as if he is lionell messi or diego armando maradona .. i can see a lot of positives in his game but there is a lot of negatives too so i just can't understand why is kalou our fan's favourite right in here instead of lamps , terry , essien and Drogba
-
well , bruma and sturridge will definitely get a lot of chances this year as matches will go on .. we are gonna have midweek matches and some players willl be tired and others will be injured (hope not) .. so bruma can easily get more than 10 matches due to the shortage we have in defence .. but i am worried about kakuta he has malouda anelka kalou benayoun and sturridge all fighting for two places and are infront of him in the picking order but hope carlo will give him all the playing time he needs when he is back from injury
-
although i understand what you are trying to say here but i think it will be better if we just rotate our squad specially against smaller teams to keep everyone fresh and fit
-
well is everyone here talking about the same kalou that i know of ???!!!!!!!!!!! you gave me the impression that you talk about Drogba , ohhh !!! you know what since i came here people have always praised kalou even more than they praised lamps or terry or Drogba . kalou is good but i think he is so overrated player in here , i rate him as just above average player but not something out of the world like a lot have said . the reason why i think kalou is not great because i would simply take any of our former or current wingers over him i mean i would choose any of : robben - duff - j.cole(in his days) - malouda - anelka ... over kalou but he somehow manage to be a very good impact sub
