Lampard will go down in history as one of our best midfielders of all time IMO. He has carried Chelsea at times over the years, one game that will always stick in the memory is Bayern Munich at home in the CL, he was head and shoulders above anyone else in the world at that time. He deserves all the credit he gets. Even today, no goals, 1 or 2 scuffed shots, but he worked his socks off in midfield and stopped MUFC from playing, he is an all round complete midfielder. Super Frankie Lampard.

Its going to be very close. Liverpool away will be tough as they always raise their game at home against us. Citeh will be MUFC's biggest game, and I can see them dropping points. Its going to be close but we are in the driving seat now, its ours to lose! Come on boys!

We deserved that win 100% We totally outplayed them in the first 45, and in the second we soaked up everything they had to offer. They should have had a penalty, but 3 minutes later so should we! Our goal was offside but their goal was handball so no excuses Fergie!! Well done boys, my ratings: Cech - 7- a few routine saves, distribution was poor though. Ferriera - 8 - defended well and was a danger going forward, good passing and movement Terry - 8 - was solid as a rock in the second half Alex - 8 - Solid throughout Zirkhov - 9 - kept Valencia in his pocket and caused Neville problems going forward Mikel - 8 - Routine performance, did go wandering a bit in the second half though allowing the manc to press Lampard - 7 - battled hard and got stuck in, didnt see much of him in the final third though Deco - 7 - some nice passing and worked hard to keep Scholes from having time on the ball Malouda - 9 - was one of his best performances in a CFC shirt, was strong, lively, and a contstant threat J Cole - 8 - Good display, worked very hard, could do with pulling the trigger a bit more in the final third, but his goal was well taken and will give him confidence (sign him up) Anelka - 8 - done well without making too much of an impact, some nice pass and moving Subs: Drogba - 8 - Took his goal superbly, and defended for the team afterwards Kalou - 7 - falied to make too much of an impact, but held the ball up well Ballack - 6 - made one very good tackle when defending in injury time. MOTM: Malouda.

Good video, thanks for sharing. I agree, the Gazza goal sticks in the memory, epic.

I agree, expectations have risen over the last few years but personally I will always value the FA Cup, and if we win it I will be over the moon, as I was last year. The 97 win was our first trophy in my lifetime, I remember our run clearly, the 4-2 win against Liverpool when we were 2-0 down at HT, and Zola's turn and goal in the semi vs Wimbledon, good times.

We win our remaining games, we win the league, it will be tough, and we may need lady luck on our side, but it can be done.

Who is Deco?, never heard of him LOL.

Looks like we can forget about the clear-out this summer.

Very diplomatic IMO. -
Good news, we have missed him.<br>

Interesting to see Turnbull votes our second best player on the night on that link on the previous page. I gave him a 7 myself.

Terry's car in collision with security official
Luke replied to zolayes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Anyone thates been to SB knows what its like leaving the ground, let alone having paps and fans surrounding the car, it doesnt take a genuis to realise that Terry wouldnt have know he had injured someone. Typical of the media. I think everyone at CFC should stop any contact with the media, no interviews, stories etc. -
He'll be back in England one day 100%, sadly, not with Chelsea.
-
Aguero would be an excellent signing.
-
I agree with alot of whats being said here, a mix of youth and hunger, and experience and know how is what we need. Aguero and Ribery are the players we should be looking at, also, Hamsik.
-
I agree.

Yeah I can see where CA is coming from sticking with the experienced players albeit frustrating to watch the likes of Anelka & Ballack not producing game after game. I would love to see players like Bruma/Kakuta/Matic etc getting games, but we cant afford to make mistakes with so much left to play for. Lets hope some of these youngers get a good pre season under their belt and give CA something to think about, I would like to see a youthful side play in the Carling Cup as well personally. What we have seen of Kakuta so far has been top draw, albeit from the bench when we are 3/4-0 up. For these youngsters to get games we need rid of the dead wood at the club, and I'm not sure thats something that CA is keen on

Cech Gallas Terry Desailly A Cole Makalele Lampard Essien Robben Drogba Zola Subs: Cudicini Carvalho Ferreira Tiago J Cole Duff Hasselbaink How about a worst XI of the decade?
-
I can see Mancienne being involved with the first team squad next season, not too sure how much game time he will get though, as CA hasnt seemed to have used many of the younger players this season. I agree, Hutchinson, Bruma, Mancienne, Matic, Kakuta and Sturridge are all great prospects, but will they be given game time by CA?? I can see 1 or 2 going out on loan next season. I would really like these players to be given a chance, but CA seems to like playing it safe with his experienced first team back ups (Kalou, Belletti etc).
-
Totally agree with everything there Esk, Ancelotti needs to bring in his own players and build his own team. At the minute we have quite a few players out and our squad is light. We are still in the title race and FA Cup semi's. Lets think positive, we just need certain players to step up to the mark (Anelka namely) and get a good fun of form during the business end of the season.
-
The reason I suggest Shawcross and Muamba is for cover for Terry/Alex/Ivanovic. I agree with Ballack and Cole out, Hamsik and Ribery in. I'd also keep an eye on Aguero. So what would everyones ideal starting XI be for next season?
-
I've always admired Beckham as a player, he works hard for his team and gives 110% for club and country. It is a shame that he wont play at a major tournament again, but could be a blessing for England, I want to see Milner/Young/Lennon/Walcott playing for England.
-
Thats 2 weeks in a row he has gotten away with sending off offences.
-
Atmosphere was crap last night, and whoever was chanting fuck off Mourinho isnt a real Chelsea fan. He still loves Chelsea and WE still love him.
-
The better team went through in the end, FACT. We had a decent spell of offensive play 10 mins before half time and 10 mins after, other than that, Inter bossed the game tactically, more so in the 2nd half. Anelka was awful, he didnt offer any support to Drogba and didnt look interested. Malouda was lively, his turn and shot that was blocked by Samuel was world class. Joe Cole looked lost when he came on, in the second half it almost seemed as if people didnt know where they were playing or what they were doing. Yes, we should have had 2-3 penalties, but this is Chelsea in Europe, we dont get F**k all. There are so many if's and but's, what if the penalty had been given in the first leg which would have been followed up by a red card, what if Drogba had got the penalty for being rugby tackled last night, what if we had scored just before half time during out spell of pressure. In some ways we were unlucky, in others, we just wernt good enough. After Inter's goal, CA just stood on the touch line looking lost, reminded me of Avram Grant. The Atmosphere was shite as well. WEST STAND WEST STAND GIVE US A SONG!!!!!!

I think it turned out to be because aftet the shooting their wasnt any kit/clothes at it was all on the coach, so the players were wearing clothes given to them by locals, but still, did he have to pick the Arsenal shirt LOL.
