Its Defiantly a good idea but im just worried about our previous attempts at brining players through , it hasn't really been successful with the FFP rules coming in we have to change our policy no more are the times of splashing 20 million on a 8 million rated player. Hopefully it will have a positive effect on our club.

Completely agree , Money does win you titles top teams have done it for years. As for wins being sweeter , defiantly the expectation wasn't there we were happy to be in the top half of the table. now we just expect expect expect , its harder to enjoy when you have to try and be a certain level.

Its an interesting point , they may not see him as the gaffa but as part of Jose's coaching staff. Something will have to give if we keep under performing.

That is the fickle world of football , at the end of the day where ever we finish in the league it wont stop my passion for the team , they could be fighting in league one and i would still be as happy for a win. As said before Roman has spoiled us in terms of success over the seasons and when things go bad we just chuck money at the situation to right it , but now with the FFP we need to think of other ways to bring success like a long term manager who will create his own team here. 2005/2006 seems so long ago now and i would even go as far out and say the league was easier to win back then , we never had to worry about the likes of City , Spuds and even teams like Newcastle. Times are Changing we need to change with them.

Terry has never really been known for his pace , as someone posted before he had Riccy C to cover him for that. i just don't think his mind is still in the game with the media circus that is around him.

Thing is you cant just chuck these youngsters in there and hope they will do well, we need a balanced of young and talented and experienced. its finding that balance which is the hard part.

Its a must win on wednesday , god forbid should we end up not qualifying for the knock out stage. But im confident we will do the job , looks like Torres will return for this game , though im still struggling to completely like his presence in this team.

This season will show who will support the club for life and who will just leave at the first sign of trouble. im hoping AVB can turn this around i think he has the potential to be great. but it does make you wonder why people were calling for Carlo's head last year , the problems were already showing then and most of them haven't been fixed.

I dont know other people opinions but i think Romeu should be playing ahead of Mikel if not we need to seriously look at a new holding midfielder in Jan Mikel has proved he isn't up to the job,.

I agree we have the resources to warrant challenging on all fronts , but we have took to long to get rid of the dead wood and we haven't replaced them with a younger players. When Mourniho took over here he had inherited a Hungry squad wanting to win things AVB has inherited a old squad who paper over the cracks by signing out of form forwards for 50million. he has brought a couple of gems mata and romeu but thats not enough to transfer us into a title winning side again. Were going to have to grit and bear it and hope its only a matter of time before important changes are made and we see a new core of players for the future.

I must say i worry every time Luiz has the ball he seems to try and beat 4 players instead of just making a clearance.

I agree with the changes , AVB needs to mix things up , he cant expect to play the same players who played a different way last season to change a habit of a lifetime and suddenly start playing slick fast football. The reason we were successful was because we played in a certain way and we had the players to play that certain way , we were never out muscled in a game people were afraid of us because we would physically dominate them all game. AVB has two choices play to our strengths or bring in players who can play his way for now the latter is not the option , so i think its back to basics for us.

True i cant see the players worried by an AVB team talk. the only other thing that may motivate them is performance based wages but i could never see that coming into effect , plus most of them don't need the money any more.

To be honest is his mind on football at the moment ? he should be dropped until these allegations etc have run there course so he can concentrate on his football again and if we insist to keep playing the high line , he will be an liability. I dont think its just Terry Though Cole has been abysmal this season , he has lost that yard of pace that made him the defender he was.

Exactly the old guard must be just counting there pennies until retirement what do they have to prove ? we need some players who want to fight for the shirt and are hungry for success. just like we have when Mourniho took over , none of these players had lifted a PL trophy this helped urge them on to grab the opportunity. Man City have gone out and brought fresh younger players who will do the same. All teams have to change i just feel we have left it too late we waited too long in the summer to decide who stays and who goes , i understand we had a new manager who had to assess the squad. i don't mind winning nothing this season as long as we finish in the top 4 without this i think we will struggle to turn around what used to be a scary team to play.

Its not only that we done have the players for his tactics. The way we play wont work in the premier league , slick football will win you games in spain and portugal but not here , the gameplay is to fast. we dont have the time on the ball.

After reading some posts on this forum its nice to see that avb is getting a lot of backing. But this is the worst season to be in transitiob. There is a high chance we will miss out on cl football this season and with the ffp rules coming in to effect we can't chuck money at us getting back in the top 4. Last season people were calling for Carlos head. If this team finnished 2nd it would be a mircle. Could you imagine a Jose team with a defensive record like this? I think we have been spoiled over the years and we need to get used to the fact were not the dominat force we once was. Without the money we get for being in the top 4 its going to be tougj getting back up there. I hope avb can sort out our problems because i think he is a great manager. We need some consitancy and he should go back to the drawing board. Forget fancy football just win games play dirty and hat a result if need be.
