  1. Hum, I disagree. It is not foolish people, but jealous people. Jealousy makes people inventing things, like those people jealous of the success we had circa 2005 and whom said we bought the titles. Saying Barcelona is corrupted is as stupid as saying Chelsea is run by russian mafia and their blood stained money.
  2. True, but still. We should forget the second leg. We won't get any result at the Nou Camp. If we want to go through, we will have to get a surprise result at the Bridge, where the narrow pitch will bother their passing game (the space will be narrower and thus it will be more difficult for them to pass the ball and to move freely). We are a team which play very narrowly, even when playing on tight pitchs, due to our lack of wide men. Nou Camp's pitch is very big. We can't afford to go there with an attacking strategy... not with our abysmal passing game, we will leave them too much space. And we all know what happens when players of the likes of Messi, Iniesta and Alexis have highways in front of them. And we will be allowed only a few opportunities to shot on goal, since they will monopolize the ball. I mean, we can't go there with the necessity to score a goal to go through. No, if we want to stand a chance to go through, we have to go there with the possibility to only sit back. Hence, if we aim the UCL final, we will have to hit them at the Bridge. I don't believe we have the physical resources to win two very big games in a short period of time.
  3. We won't beat them. This squad doesn't have the weapons to win over Barcelona. We have unexpectedly reach the semis. And, we most likely won't make it to the CL next year. Therefore, we shouldn't take these games as a revenge or whatsoever. We should take them as a bonus, and just enjoy the present moment. To compete in the CL's semis against the greatest team of all time, is a good gift considering our abysmal form.
  4. Xavi Alonso and Casillas should have been sent off. Funnily enough, there are no UEFA/LFP jokes.
  5. After a very poor season, a silverware as the outcome of it would be well appreciated. Futhermore, to win a trophy always create a good dynamic for the upcoming season. Considering the state we're in, we "need" this. Fortunatly, we are still in for two trophies. However, we do not have a squad good and deep enough to battle in those two competitions... We're facing a choice : should we go for the CL or the FA Cup ? We do not have what it takes to beat Barcelona. Our squad does not possess the qualities required to foil the catalan engine. And even if the luck is by our side, we won't beat Madrid or Munich. Hence I really hope our board will act in a wise way, and will try to save our season (I.e. going all for the FA Cup) instead of being foolish by fighting for the CL while neglecting the FA Cup. Though, I expect them to favor the CL...
  6. Meh ! What the fuck is this badge ? With the slim fit of the shirt, we could participate at the next gaypride... And the short is too baggy considering the fit of the shirt, this isn't well proportionate.
  7. Yes, I do think so. First off, André Villas-Boas isn't the type of guy saying to journos whether he'll buy someone or not, or who he'll buy. Then, take a look at the list of players we were - more or less - officialy in for : Alexis Sanchez ; Pastore ; Lucas Modric ; Pereira ; and maybe Falcao and Moutinho. First thing you'll notice, is that we were in for a lot of players (furthermore the right kind of players), although we ended without any of them. Alexis did only want to go to Barcelona, so you can say we weren't lucky for this one. For Pastore, okay Paris did offer more money than us, but how comes our negotiators didn't beat an average club from an average league ? For Modric, the board had waited until the final day of the mercato to make this £40 millions offer. Why in hell did they wait so long ? Had they had formulated the offer sooner, we could have been able to add a few millions, and more importantly, Tottenham's board would have had the time to think about these 40 millions pound. That is a hell of a money. It was most likely that they would have refused it out of pride. But, if they would have had the time to think about it, they might have changed their mind, seeing the lots of players they could have bought. And as for Perreira, Porto didn't want to negotiate and the buy-out clause was to high. To sum-up, the reason why we didn't buy anough players is a mix between badly handled negotiation with a bit of bad luck, not because of André.
  8. So, Messi isn't the GOAT because he didn't win the World Cup. Now, tell me how many times Pelé and Maradona have won the Champions League ?
  9. He was assessing nothing. He was just surrounded by a bunch of incapable negotiators. And he couldn't tell the truth, couldn't he ?
  10. Messi isn't overrated. If he receives good passes from Iniesta and Xavi, this is because he knows how to put himself in good positions to receive good balls. That's that. Ps. Mascherano is just an average stop gap, that's the reason why when Abidal is fit, he is on the bench. That being said, he has improved a lot.
  11. My bad. I didn't get the sense of humour. With all the hate flowing in here, kinda hard to distinguish humour or seriousness.
  12. Anelka would be jalous of him, considering he doesn't get slated off for his "box allergy".
  13. Holy shit, can't believe he was already playing. Time moves fast...
  14. I love you, thank you. This is non-sense. We were fucked by the ref, and by a team which wasn't able to keep the lead at home against a 10-men side and was playing like the away side. Barcelona only did what they had to do, i.e. their job.
  15. I hope he gets sold to a club which will allow him to blossom. We are wasting him. Ps. No need to mention the double standard, if you know what I mean...
  16. He is currently playing against Nancy, on the left wing in a 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation. The game has started for about ten minutes. Here the links : http://www.firstrows...s-as-nancy.html Edit : Hum, finally it seems he is playing on the right side (contrary to what I saw on the team sheet).
  17. Right now, the US Congress is sneaking in a new law that gives them big brother spy powers over the entire web -- and they're hoping the world won't notice. We helped stop their Net attack last time, let's do it again. Over 100 Members of Congress are backing a bill (CISPA) that would give private companies and the US government the right to spy on any of us at any time for as long as they want without a warrant. This is the third time the US Congress has tried to attack our Internet freedom. But we helped beat SOPA, and PIPA -- and now we can beat this new Big Brother law. Our global outcry has played a leading role in protecting the Internet from governments eager to monitor and control what we do online. Let's stand together once again -- and beat this law for good. Sign the petition then forward to everyone who uses the Internet! http://www.avaaz.org/en/stop_cispa/?slideshow
  18. To all those who jump on the "Barça hating" bandwagon. They were denied a legit penalty in the first leg. Ah, selective memory...
  19. Essien shouldn't be near the team for these two games. He doesn't have enough pace, speed and mobility. Barça's midfield would have a field day.
  20. The ref was as biased as the one who didn't give a penalty (for Terry handball) for Benfica last week.
  21. Rather late than never, no ? To be honest, I would be glad if most of refs would whistle more often this kind of fouls.
