Tell me honestly, who wouldn't fall in love with Didier ?

They won't, man. As long as other French teams don't get dramatically better, I deeply believe they do not have any chance. In group stages, of course they'll crush every one, but once the level will go up, they won't be able to challenge with english and spanish teams. Why ? It is simple. It will happen the same thing whom happened to Lyon, years after years, when they were walking over the Ligue 1 - let's say circa 2005-2007 (when Barça had the blue away jersey, and when Roberto Carlos was still at Madrid, for example). At the begining of the season, they were on par with the best european teams. The were drawing with Barça, they were humiliating Madrid 3-0 (two years in a row, if my memory serves me well). All that was during group stages. But once in February, when the knock-out stages were beginning, they were struggling against smaller teams (AS Roma, PSV Eindhoven). Into my eyes, the reason is the following : at the start of the season, every top clubs have more or less the same preparation, regardless of which championship they come from. But as the season goes one, top clubs gains experience (I am not sure whether it's the best word to use) depending of which opposition they fight against, week in week out. I.e., top clubs in small championships gain less experience, because, despite having a good team and good players, they encounter a weak opposition. Therefore, they don't have to step up their level in order to win. While spanish and english teams have to. As a consequence, clubs coming from big leagues are more well trained than those coming from second-rate leagues. And then a gap forms himself. This is why I can't see Paris winning the UCL as long as the LIgue doesn't improve. Of course, they can, if someone good enough is there to motivate them to give extra efforts to compensate the weak level of their league. But this is harder. Don't know if you see what I mean...

« Ironically », it would have been the perfect year to hire him.

It should be accepted as a general consensus here, that, we should not overhype our youngsters. It happens with every one of them, we even go as far as to say they are finished if they haven't reach a world-class level by the age of 20.

In the first time, this case was "made up" in order to turn the public attention from the QPR's robbery, and then it was used by Ferdinand on purpose to come out of the Mediocrity shadow he was flooded in. Simple as that.

He can smoke under the shower XD

"He's german, he knows what to do" LOL

Since you are a formidable season tickets older for 13 years, you should be apt to trully understand what I meant, shouldn't you ?
-
You are so pathetic and condescendant. I am pretty sure if you would give us the money to go in England, we would attend to games week-in week-out. And when you get a look at the stands, and see a bunch of drunk uncivilised men shouting insults for 90 minutes... I honestly don't believe they know more about foot than overseas fans behind their computers.

£38m (the price the most talked for Hulk) = 48 millions €

You didn't burst my bubble since I wasn't in any one. I was just saying it... Because the only time I saw the name "Stella" it was for Stella Artois... (Yeah I know, what a reference !).

We should try and be cautious to not get carried away and to not hype him too much highly. It could backflash the player if he doesn't perform at the level of the high expectations we have. Yes he has been elected the best player of the season (Into my eyes, it should have been David Luiz, but it isn't the matter of the thread) and put very good performances, but I'm under the feeling we see him bigger than he was. He was quite inconsistent during the season, he had many more or less average games, and he tended to disapear during some others (I won't argue on the reasons of his disappearances). Plus you have to remind yourself he was our only creative force, which means he was inevitably the one who would make the most of the assists and the one to be the more often into the public eye. And to continue with the comparison to David Silva (since we seem to be in the need to compare the two players), there was a lot more players around David Silva to score goals, or to make assists, while Mata was the "only one". Don't get me wrong, I am not taking anything away from him. He made an excellent season, and was very important to us. But I think it's bold to say, after only one season, that he is better than Silva or than X (in my opinion Silva is at the moment ahead of him). And we should be more down to earth than this.

It wasn't aimed specifically at you. Your opinion might not be formed out of hatred, but it appears to be a consensus to hold an anathema toward him. I didn't say he was faultless, in the first time.
-
Are you named after the beer ? By the way, welcome
-
I am baffled by all the hatred directed towards Sturridge. It's like all the ladyboy fanbase is searching for a scapegoat in order to abuse him, so their beloved blondie doesn't get the critics he deserves.
-
Well, I guess he isn't called "El Loco" for nothing.
-
He told - last summer or the summer two years ago - that he would like to play in England, and that his brother wanted him to join United. And I don't remember in which way, but Chelsea was also mentionned. I don't have any precise recollections of this interview, but I at least remember he was quite interested in playing in the PL.

So Xavi and Iniesta aren't good enough in your book ?
-
Cole is still the best left back, when not over-used. But, he is soon 32 years-old, and he is already on a £120k per-week wage. He will most certainly progressively lose his starting position over the next two years, and his contribution to the team will also be decreasing. Plus, it's not like we don't have anybody to replace him, we have a talented youngster. Thus, if he definitely wants a pay rise to pen down a new contract, then we should let him go for free the next summer, and take the best out of him during the forthcoming season.
-
Well, he would count as an home-grown player (which as his importance), he is still a young player (23 years-old), and due to his young age we could make a return on investissement if/when we'll sell him (by this, I mean, if he doesn't cost us too much, we won't lose a lot money when selling him). He could be a really good option to have on the bench. So, all in all, if he is willing to be a substitute, and if we can negociate a relatively cheap deal (both in fees and wages), it would actually not be a bad idea.

I know it's all about money, but what a shame that you (the competent authorities) sold a remarkable London site (well, I am not sure if it is "that" remarkable, but at least a well known place) to a foreign investors while you could have sell it to a London-based club which is currently one of the best in the world (-> well representative of the city).

Lol, I do not deserve this. Thanks, you two !
