  1. Chelsea had been regularly linked with a move for Hazard over previous months, along with other major European clubs who had scouted the youngster extensively, but with the Blues' disappointing league form during the 2011-12 season increasing the likelihood that they would miss out on Champions League qualification as the season drew to a close, the media reported that Hazard had narrowed his options down to the two major Manchester clubs, with the opportunity to play in Europe's premier competition seen as a pre-requisite. However after Chelsea won the 2012 UEFA Champions League they secured entry into the following season's tournament, and reports emerged from France that Hazard was once again considering a move to Stamford Bridge. On 28 May 2012 Hazard announced on Twitter that he would be signing for the "Champions League winner". Joining for a reported fee of £32 million, the signing was confirmed by Chelsea on 4 June after the Belgian completed his medical. Upon signing Hazard stated "It's a dream come true for me. I can't wait to get started and for the season to start so I can meet my new team-mates, the supporters and all the people who are involved. I want to play as many games as possible, score as many goals as possible and win a place in the hearts of the supporters." He commented that his decision to move to Stamford Bridge was due to a variety of factors, including the opportunity to live in London, to be part of a young, emerging Chelsea side, and to play for a club which continued to win silverware after years of success: "Ultimately, for a player it's all about winning things; I want to win as many trophies as possible, which is another reason why I came here as Chelsea have been winning things for a long time now, and I hope to win many more during my time here." Hazard also revealed that former Chelsea player Joe Cole a team-mate at Lille had recommended a move to Chelsea: "I spoke to Joe Cole and what he said above all was that Chelsea was the right club for me. As somebody who loves the club himself, he said he could really see me in the shirt, so when I see him next I'll tell him he was right." Click here to view the record
  2. Gutted for Gary. Martin Kelly called up. This squad really is becoming desperation stuff.
  3. The press conference would more than likely be during the tour of the US. Thats the way we've done it for the last few years. But yes, as always, Chelsea TV will have the first interview with him. The last time I remember us having an immediate press conference to unveil a transfer was the double signing of Veron and Joe Cole.
  4. Like I say, you don't need to believe me. He could be wrong. He never has been before, though.
  5. I'm still being told it'll be a few days. Why? I dont know. Alot of these journos have said other days the past week too and been wrong. Dont start getting excited about them.
  6. Common sense. We don't even have a manager at the moment, the chance of a press conference is zero.
  7. Really tempted to lock this badboy until theres some actual news on the topic.
  8. The club is in the process of trying to sign one of the biggest talents in the world for the fans. Give them some patience. How many times have they let us down in the last ten years? Not often.
  9. You don't have to believe me.
  10. We've got five weeks to go until pre season starts. The club and the player won't rush it through in 24 hours just because he's going on holiday.
  11. Deal hasn't fallen through. But don't expect any news for the next 72 hours.
  12. Belgium really could have used the focal point that Lukaku gave them for more of the game. What a shower of shite that ninety minutes was though.
  13. Frankie Boyle @frankieboyle Andy Townsend summarising on international football is like having a painter & decorator do the audioguide for the National Portrait Gallery LOL!
  14. Undeserved, but brilliant finish that. Was that our first chance after 34 minutes? Sigh.
  15. England really haven't got going, at all. Very disappointing, yet not at all surprising.
  16. BBC are reporting the Kompany story too. Seems legit.
  17. ITV have already mentioned Hazard coming to Chelsea twice. Would imagine they'll do a profile on him in abit too. Who qualified from Belgiums group? Anyone know?
  18. Is Defour injured for Belgium, or just not selected? And who will be left back, Vertonghen or Vermaelen?
  19. Could be quite a bit of discussion on this due to Hazard playing, so. Lets do it here. England teams just be announced. Joe Hart, Glen Johnson, Ashley Cole, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Steven Gerrard, James Milner, Scott Parker, Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
  20. Oh dear. Might have to use my moderator rights to tidy up my mistakes here.
  21. Oh shit, i'm thinking of Rajkovic aren't I? My bad.
  22. Just read this guys twitter account. Seems to have taken a particular dislike to Eden Hazard. Last but not least, my personal favourite: Christian fucking Poulsen?!?!
