  1. U21's are at Aldershot tonight for a friendly. Couple of interesting names in their 11. Collins Dabo - Ssewankambo - Davey - van Aanholt Clifford - Palmer Colkett - Kakuta - Kiwomya Perica Subs: Musonda, Thompson, Brady, Sammut, Christie-Davies, Ali, Wright, Clarke-Salter. If PvA was going to be involved with the first team as back up to Luis, surely he'd be playing tomorrow rather than tonight. Fair to say hes off.
  2. 20 minutes tomorrow at Wimbledon?
  3. His profile on the official website is finally up.
  4. Club website have spelt his name in two different ways. :')
  5. http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/18488-5-filipe-luis/?view=getnewpost Done deal guys, topic locked.
  6. On 16 July 2014, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid agreed a fee of £15.8 million for the transfer of Filipe Luís, subject to personal terms. The player signed a three-year contract, on 18 July 2014. He said: "This move is a dream come true for me. I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League. Im very happy and looking forward to getting started and giving my best for the team during the coming seasons". Filipe Luís made his debut in a pre-season friendly against Wolfsberger AC, on 23 July 2014. His squad number was confirmed as 3, replacing Ashley Cole who moved to AS Roma soon before Filipe Luís' arrival. In Chelsea's first match of the league season, away to Burnley, Filipe Luís was an unused substitute with César Azpilicueta playing at left back. He expressed that he was content to be second choice behind Azpilicueta if Chelsea were playing well, comparing his situation to the team's experienced goalkeeper Petr Čech who had been benched for Thibaut Courtois. Filipe Luís made his debut in Chelsea's third league match, playing the last 7 minutes of a 63 win at Everton in place of Eden Hazard on 30 August. He started for the first time on 17 September, playing the entirety of a 11 home draw against Schalke 04 in Chelsea's first game of the Champions League group stage. Filipe Luís made his first league appearance in six weeks on 18 October, brought on by José Mourinho after Azpilicueta had been sent off in the first half at Crystal Palace; Chelsea went on to win 21. With Azpilicueta suspended, Filipe Luis started a Premier League match for the first time eight days later, a 11 draw away to Manchester United. His first goal for Chelsea came on 16 December 2014, a 25-yard free-kick in a 31 League Cup quarter-final win away to Derby County Click here to view the record
  7. I'm pretty sure we'll see 'Filipe Luis' too rather than 'Luis'.
  8. What an absolute ballbag this guy is.
  9. New signing Diego Costa will wear the Chelsea number 19 shirt. Costa, 25, completed his move to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid earlier this week and will take Demba Ba’s squad number, following the Senegalese striker’s departure to Besiktas. Costa will join up with his new team-mates next week ahead of our continental training camp. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/07/costa-squad-number-confirmed.html
  10. He'd barely get a kick if he stayed here as back up to Costa and Torres or Lukaku. The odd 20 minutes on a rare occasion he's on the bench. This is my gutt instinct too. A full year at Derby, where don't forget he wasn't an automatic starter every game there, would be far more beneficial to him than being on the bench or perhaps starting a team where he barely sees the ball and loses most weeks.
  11. Jan Oblak undergoing a medical with Atletico. Thibauts replacement.
  12. Anyone seen anything of Bertrand during the pre-season training pictures? Is he injured?
  13. So many misleading lines and quotes. I think is one of those cases of no one really knowing the truth. Journos seeing Madrid sign the likes of Kroos and James and deeming Khedira surplus to requirements. 6 more weeks of this folks. I think the good thing for us is that we have the 3 that we really want and we have Courtois back. Anything else is an absolute bonus.
  14. Rio Ferdinand QPR medical today. Oh how I'd love to see them go straight back down again. Also, loads of speculation in Spain about Barcelona signing Jeremy Mathieu for 20m€ from Valencia. Thats either abit excessive or hes come on leaps and bounds recently?
  15. Dortmund have signed Ginter from Freiburg, part of the German WC squad but I'm pretty sure he didn't play at all. Good signing?
  16. Hopefully the fans learn from their mistakes and stop putting so much expectation on these lads shoulders. To be honest, in hindsight, the sheer size of Josh was always going to make it difficult to break through and become a regular in the first team.
  17. Couple of sloppy balls last night and nothing to really do defensively. Looking forward to seeing what he can do in the games against better opposition such as Vitesse and Werder Bremen. Physically he looks a lot different on the pitch to how I expected. He's one of those that doesn't really 'look' like a footballer.
  18. 28 year old Khedira on a free but with £200,000 a week? I suppose this topic will be full of critics until that happens next summer then!
  19. Bit in bold roughly translates to "four of Cholo's starting eleven are passed to the 'enemy'." Odd choice of wording there!
  20. Jordan Houghton, I believe. http://thechels.info/wiki/Jordan_Houghton
  21. If we sign this guy, or Vidal, or Pogba - we'd have a starting 11 to rival any in Europe. Really exciting times ahead.
  22. Fantastic business if its £15m. Welcome and good luck, big boots to fill.
  23. Same, I dont know if he needs a WP or not. Im just saying that if he does, im pretty sure he cant play. We'll find out in a few hours.
