  1. Certainly not. Not very likable or charismatic, but his La Liga record speaks for himself.
  2. You are known to have agendas against dissenting opinions, hence I won't take your posts seriously. Carry on
  3. Defend? Really? Acknowledging his contributions is 'defending' him? You might have expected all replies to your thread to be full of City and Cook bashing, sorry to disappoint you. Re Mrs Onuoha, I obviously wish her a full and complete recovery, but in my mind the timing of her revelation is interesting in light of her son's well known troubles at City.
  4. He's done well for City imo. Been one of the central figures in their transformation into genuine domestic contenders. Think he's got done for lying about the email, not for the email itself. What a stupid move it was to claim his mail was hacked by a City employee. Also, I find the timing of this very opportunistic from Mrs Onuoha's perspective. This took place a good 8-10 months ago and was only brought up once Nedum Onuoha's deadline transfer to Everton on loan fell through because of wage issues. Add to the fact that City were pissed about Onuoha's association with Kia Joorabchian and it makes you think.
  5. Are you suggesting he doesn't need a ball to play? The problem lies in the fact that we're extremely ponderous on the ball. Centre midfield is where it all happens, or (in our case), doesn't happen.
  6. Bang on. We can have Ronaldo - Hulk - Messi up front and it won't work if they're not fed the ball when it's needed to be. Atm our circulation goes like this - Cech to Terry/Alex to Mikel back to Terry/Alex to Cole to Mikel to Lampard to Cole to Malouda back to Lampard to Ramires to Bosingwa to meaningless cross in the arms of the opposition keeper. I'm fucking bored of the repetitive backward and sideways passing, the absence of clever off-the-ball runs and the general dross we're churning out.
  7. So basically Yossi didn't fit into the 4-3-3.
  8. Drogba-Torres was a dream team on paper. Just saying.
  9. I would have hoped for a club/manager who would make him more disciplined defensively. His attacking threat is well known but at the end of the day a defender's primary role is to be sound at the back and it is this aspect of his play that lets him down even at Reserves level.
  10. Hardly. £55k a week is low-paying by football standards.
  11. The guy has a life outside of Chelsea too, you know
  12. On reasons for the move : On his new teammates - On what he wants to offer - http://soccernet.esp...ol-exit?cc=4716
  13. Great. We need the newer ones to post though, majority just join and never participate.
  14. Dalglish mentioned 'couple of weeks' when it happened (Aug 25).
  15. Absolutely. Soldado has been red hot for around 15 months now. Spain's striking options are terrifying.
  16. Great. Yet another thread with the same repetitive jibber jabber. The 'search' function is the least used function on this forum.
  17. Of course, we have Malouda for that. Is Terry finished? No. Is he getting there? In 2 years, yes. The Maldini example was mindless anyway so won't bother discussing that but even by regular CB standards, JT has had to endure much more in a physical sense. His willingness to play through the pain barrier is well documented. And that I'm afraid is what will hasten his swansong. Personally though Jones would have been a perfect successor for him but oh well. United did very well for themselves there.
  18. He isn't really a deep lying playmaker, Harry put him there last season in order to accommodate Van der Vaart. In his earlier seasons at Spurs you'd often see him playing just beyond the opposition's midfield line, but not exactly 'in the hole' if you know what I mean. He'd have someone like a Huddlestone/Jenas/Palacios holding behind him when Harry played 4-4-2. But last season he switched to 4-4-1-1 to fit VDV into the side so Modric was pushed back. But you're right about there being room for both Modric and Mata in the same side. Mata is always mobile and moving into the channels as well as the centre while Modric stays central primarily (can play wide if asked to) so their roles can co-exist.
