  1. Really? You're missing out then. Ashley Cole is a bona fide Chelsea legend in my eyes. Top professional, best in his position in Europe (and by extension, the world), multiple trophy winner, big game player, the works. One look at his reaction after Didier's winning penalty says it all. The elation is pure.
  2. I just hope we don't embarrass ourselves. Truth be told, the facilities here are beyond a joke.
  3. I think if and when Barca do think of getting him back, it'd be as a central defender, not midfielder.
  4. I'm not saying he's suffering from depression but depression doesn't care about status, money or sex life. It's a horrible illness and people are usually too quick to dismiss depression among footballers (or any rich people for that matter) jokingly with lines like 'Yeah, but I bet the paycheck softens the blow'. You all should read the 'Secret Footballer' column that appears on the Guardian every week. It's a fascinating insight into the world of a professional footballer.
  5. Make a 5 man shortlist from the responses so far and have a 6th option for 'Others' where posters can explain their choice in the comments.
  6. You should add a poll. There are just 3 or 4 popular alternatives and it'll spare us the trouble of having 500 posts with one word responses.
  7. ^Body art doesn't affect your ability to donate blood, you can do so once any bruising from the procedure has healed completely.
  8. Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment.
  9. Watching him against Scotland right now, looks fairly shaky against what is a Championship level attack.
  10. But no, he's a footballer, therefore we must judge him by the money he makes.
  11. And who handed him that contract? Who the fuck hands a 28 year old (at the time) a 4 year deal worth that much? He refused to take a pay cut and transfer to Lyon on deadline day and that's the reason he's being vilified by the management. Do you blame him for refusing to lower his wage? Sure, if you're on your high horse. He might not be a very good player anymore but he has his uses. We have zero depth in the centre midfield and if we can find a squad place for someone like Ferreira and Hilario, singling out Malouda is nothing short of a witch hunt.
  12. Not sure I'm with Robbie on this one. Malouda hasn't been too great for a while now and I would not be sad to see him go but it seems a bit harsh to toss him into the youth/reserve set up because of the club's failure to move him on. If it's a discilplinary issue like Alex/Anelka then fine, otherwise it feels a little heavy-handed to me.
  13. Gerrard fucked up, nice to see. Good run and finish from Podolski.
  14. I think he's just a bit insecure and gets defensive instead of admitting shortcomings.
  15. I still think he will be a top manager one day provided he learns from his mistakes. As of now he though he hasn't done anything to prove the doubters wrong.
  16. Notice how AVB has stopped with that crouching on the sidelines shit? He got a lot of stick for it last season .. the man is obsessed with what is said/written about him.
  17. That Lampard-Mikel midfield left the defence badly exposed against At Mad's quick tempo passing. Lampard cannot start these games - he doesn't have the legs or the discipline to stick to his role in this new responsibility that's been entrusted on him.
