it`s been reported that Bayern have pulled out of going after Coentrao due to Benfica putting a £25 million price tag on him.. good player and young..but should Ash go to Madrid i would rather run with Zhirkov,Van Aanholt & Bertrand than spend £25 mill on him...(and yes it is in pounds..not euros)

the headline is a bit misleading..it makes it sound like he has returned to the club.. a Chelsea great due to his years of solid play for the club and his time as a coach......Carlo & Butch seem to work well together tho..so i don`t see a place for him on the current staff other than perhaps being a position coach with the academy..

if Chelsea make it public they want him...you will. they are never the first team to make their interest known in a player..they just let other clubs do the scouting etc.. for them, then jump in with an over the top offer.

my guess is that chelsea want him..but don`t want a bidding war with Man City..so have decided to keep quiet about their transfer targets until they have signed from now on...

make it happen Roman...i`m sure 90% of the Chelsea faithful would be delighted with "just" him and no further signings...you`d have no bidding rival.. a fee around 30 mill should be enough...a total summer spending of 40mill,Deco`s wages would probably be enough for him...when you subtract what has been let go off the yearly salary would still mean we are in a lot better financial shape than we were a couple of months ago.

i think the Alves thing is just a recycled old story really....the media in general don`t seem to be aware of how good our youngsters are or the depth we already have at the position and see us letting Carvalho go as us letting go our 1st choice( alongside JT ) CB instead of in reality these days our 3rd or 4th choice with Bruma also on the rise. so have just pulled a name from the past that we were once linked with ,but times have changed..Bruma and Branislav`s stock has risen greatly since those days. wouldn`t entirely rule Alves out but i think it`s unlikely as it would depend on a lot of factors..Bran staying at RB and/or Bruma going out on loan etc...just don`t see it personally.

will be for the best..but a sad day nonetheless..kinda like taking your terminally ill dog to be put asleep for the last time..you know its gotta be done but it`s with a heavy heart.. .Riccy really is a CFC legend..apart from JT, the most decorated defender in our history and not just a passenger in our success but a good part of it..i`d actually say in my lifetime if you took away JT`s leadership he`s been arguably the best CB i`ve seen in my lifetime as a CFC fan (30 of my 34 years) but alas..the time is right to say farewell for now i feel..look forward to seeing him at the bridge someday after he hangs up his boots...think he will still have a few more good years in Italy if he can stay healthy...thought he was Chelsea`s best player at this World cup...hope Alex and Bran can keep Rooney in their pockets the way Riccy has over the years.

i`d prefer Van Aanholt at LB but am sure in a pinch Bruma could play anywhere at the back...

a few sources..(tho none yet with reputations of being trustworthy sources..e.g Goal.com, TribalFootball etc..) are reporting that Carvalho has been spotted in Milan..

Riccy showed during the World cup that he still has got it..but Alex and Bran showed they can play very well when Riccy has been out injured and are both at the age where they are more than ready to play on a regular basis....if we sell Carvalho it may end up being a season too early but we could get decent money for him in comparison to his age, off the back of the World cup,which i don`t think we would get next year. cash in now whilst we can and let the future continue to flourish... also it would be good for Riccy if he went to somewhere like Italy..in the Premiership he`s probably only got one year left in him..but in Serie A,he could very well have another 3 or 4 years at a high level. we got some great defensive prospects..in particular Jeffrey Bruma who we could then keep in the 1st team squad which i would prefer over loaning him out and Hutchinson who due to his circumstances,isn`t likely to be loaned out. and that`s not counting the extra money taken off the current wage bill...i will always be grateful for what Riccy has done with us,his Legend status is set, no matter what he does from here on in..but i think it`s best for both parties if we parted now..Carvalho in the more present..but us in the future.

i`ve thought about playing Bos in midfield since Bran showed that he`s more than capable at RB..i came to the conclusion though that the one full back who would be best suited to play midfield in a 4-3-3 or 4-1-2-1-2 is Yuri.( and we got more cover at LB with Bertrand and Van Aanholt anyway) Bos in midfield would be best suited on the right flank of a 4-4-2 imo...we could give him a go in the previous stated roles tho i guess...but with him reported to be only ready about the 8th of August..that pretty much rules it out for pre-season friendlies.

it would be sad to see him go as he is a good young homegrown and English player..but it`s hard to see where he would fit into our squad.. at CB he would be 5th choice (6th if Carvalho stays) at RB he`s 3rd or 4th...only really DM could i see him having a chance but even there we have plenty of options that Carlo may rate better than him..e.g. Mikel,Matic,Cork,Essien(if DM is where Carlo wants to play him)..and that`s not counting the players that we may end up buying and is also presuming Carlo wants to switch back to a 4-1-2-1-2 from the 4-3-3 that won us the double..if we stay with the 4-3-3 i don`t think there is a place for Mancienne in our 1st team. i have thought for a while that this off-season is make or break time for him in regard to his Chelsea career...and i would personally give him a shot for the season with the 1st team..but understand if Carlo sees too many players ahead of him to be able to keep him.

they have two years to win some things before imploding..they have some serious problems ahead that they just can`t seem to see coming. we do and have acted accordingly..our success is more sustainable.

they haven`t paid their players in a month and yet are still chasing Fabregas..strange days at the Nou Camp.

Great news..should be a good contest between him and Bran,which can only be good for CFC. i expect Bran to win the spot,atleast initially, as even when "fit" is gonna take a while for Bos to get that sharpness back...as Essien will go through the same..but when you think we done the double basically without two players of the calibre of Bos and Ess..and add in some of our great prospects from the academy....it`s scary how good we are looking as a club these days. (scary for the opposition that is..who in some cases,don`t even see what is coming..)
