If he was to be allowed to leave Bayern i would fancy our chances...if he was Portugese or Spanish then we wouldn`t stand a chance up against Real (or Barcelona) but i think players from other countries see the English and Spanish leagues as equal and in some cases the English league more desirable...also even if i was neutral and a top player i think i would pick Chelsea over Real..if it came down to a purely football related decision...i would think going to Chelsea and helping them win the European Cup for the first time in their history..where i would then become an instant legend..would be more desirable than going to a club where if i didn`t help them win the European Cup every season i would be seen as a failure. of course this could all be scuppered if Bayern are true to their form and refuse to let him go...even against his wishes, like they have done in the past. i can`t see them letting him go personally..but it would be awesome if we could get him and if we could get him and Aguero..i think we would be destined to be European Champs in the next two seasons.

got mine in a couple of days ago... my old man has "retired" from going to games now (he`s in his 60`s and his health ain`t the best,,all that travelling etc..).so i`ll be goin` solo from now on... home games are great obviously, like going to the Promised land..but it`s the away days that really do it for me..hope to go to as many of them as possible. can`t wait to see who we get to play in the champions league too...hope we get some cool places to go to.. -
well i think this site is evidence that the clubs old catchment area for fans has stretched beyond the traditional West and South London areas in recent years.

New Chelsea signing Tomas Kalas has revealed he turned down moves to Arsenal and Germany in favour of the Blues. The 17-year-old defender has reportedly penned a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2016, in a deal from Czech side Sigma Olomouc thought to be worth in the region of £5million. Kalas has only made one appearance in the Czech top-flight so far, but the blues have seen enough in him to offer him a long-term deal, although he will return to Olomouc on loan next season. The youngster reveals he turned down moves to the Gunners, as well as German sides Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim and instead opted on a switch to Chelsea. "There were rumours flying around already during the spring, but at that time there were more clubs around me," he told iDnes.cz. "It became more specific only after the U-17 European Championship in Liechtenstein in May. Chelsea scouts were present there. "Then I, my dad and Olomouc were proposed a specific offer. But Mr (Frank, sporting director) Arnesen told me I had been on the list already before the Euro and they had been following me for two years." On who else was interested in him, Kalas added: "Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim from the Bundesliga and apart from Chelsea also Arsenal. "I have been to both German clubs and also Arsenal, but the best impression was left on me by Chelsea. "People say that Arsenal are famous for their academy, but from what I could see during my days at Chelsea, that really impressed me. "Even my dad thought of Chelsea as the best option. Moreover, I have been a Chelsea fan since I was a little kid. "I am convinced I have made the right decision by joining Chelsea. After all, by this I am making my dream come true." * from SkySports website*

just look at Roman during games..does he look like somebody who has lost his passion for the club? he may not be the richest owner in the world of football anymore but he`s still a multi-billionaire who can afford to maintain a top 5 european club like us...there may be restructuring going on..but i don`t think that has to mean Roman is leaving..and he would atleast put the club up for sale first. i think the Abramovich family will own Chelsea for decades to come..i`m "only" 34 and can`t see another family owning the club in my lifetime (remember in part he bought the club for his son aswell as himself) ..Roman has invested too much in the past to walk away now and selling the club during a period where we are just starting to recover from a global recession...aint the kind of thing a self-made billionaire businessman would be so foolish to even consider.

he may not have been famous throughout the world but to say no one knew him before the WC isn`t accurate..he was part of the Stuttgart team that were German league Champions in 2007 for example..captain of the German under 21 side that won the European Championship last year etc.. with the second use of the letters WC ,i presume that is meant to mean World Class...how many teams have a full squad or even just team full of World class players tho..we won the double last year..Inter won the Champions league..how many world class players did those two teams have between them..6 or 7? you admit that he will be good as a supporting cast (player)...i agree with that...but that is enough for me to want to sign him..11 players on the field they all can`t have the ball at the same time. Schweinstager ..i`d rather too..i`d rather Xavi but we talking real football not Xbox here...theres almost zero chance of him being allowed to leave Bayern.
-
theres some talk going about that Real are getting close to signing him..for..wait for it........£8.5m.....come on Chelsea ..step in and pick up this bargain.
-
Can remember all players mentioned so far... i`ll add one..Tony Godden. quite a cult hero at the time..(`86 & `87) .a journeyman goalkeeper who due to injuries found himself starting for us initially on loan ..in a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford he saved two penalties at the stretford end... even when by todays standards we would be classed "shit"..no away team could beat our record at Old Trafford.. even in years where we would be fighting relegation..we would still more times than not,get a result at Old Traff..
-
it should work out alright for us for two main reasons... 1) none of our players went that far in the WC with their national teams 2)we have a relatively easy start to the season until we meet Man City at the end of September...we should get maximum points up until then without playing our best starting 11.. i think it will effect other teams across europe more..in particular Barcelona,Real & Bayern..

earlier in the thread Bale was referred to as British...being Welsh as Bale indeed is..does qualify as British, along with the English,Scottish and Northern Irish.
-
Daily Mail is just as bad as the Sun in my eyes....a newspaper that has always been geared towards female readers ,has for almost a century and still today has more than 50 % female readers..has a long history of hate towards Chelsea since the Bates days....the reason JT isn`t England captain anymore is due to them..the main reason Ash is probably off to Madrid is due to them...they hate Chelsea and see themselves as the voice of females, it`s not surprising atall to me that they have targetted JT and Ash in recent years with all that in mind.
-
Gareth Bale is great going forward but really needs a lot of work done on his defending... as a sidenote i work with his uncle...and he would say the same.
-
if you think this is down to Chelsea..you really need to read some English newspapers from time to time.
-
the error Everton made in not having that contract offer in writing could cost them millions in lost money down the line..not mentioning a talented youngster off their squad..is a shame ... good club, good fans(been in the home end at Goodison during Chelsea games lots of times and they have never kicked my head in..even tho i`ve given them plenty of reasons with my one man chelsea band.. )..don`t understand why anyone would engineer a move away from there so they can go to feckin` Newcastle of all places....Gosling must have some real low expectations where his career is concerned to do that..
-
ah no worries...was nothing major.. your english is a lot better than it is in many parts of England...and well.. in Liverpool & Newcastle they speak no english atall!
-
oh him playing for Chelsea...the press would get an instant hard-on over that....so no thanks.
-
i take it you hate Ajax then...
-
it`s been reported that Bayern have pulled out of going after Coentrao due to Benfica putting a £25 million price tag on him.. good player and young..but should Ash go to Madrid i would rather run with Zhirkov,Van Aanholt & Bertrand than spend £25 mill on him...(and yes it is in pounds..not euros)
-
I concur...i also think he could easily manage any team in the SPL.
-
the headline is a bit misleading..it makes it sound like he has returned to the club.. a Chelsea great due to his years of solid play for the club and his time as a coach......Carlo & Butch seem to work well together tho..so i don`t see a place for him on the current staff other than perhaps being a position coach with the academy..
-
That is an old article...6 days old..and prior to him picking up yet another injury..i wouldnt want Messi if he was as injury prone as Torres..let alone fragile ladyboy herself.

aslong as you stand by your team through the dark years hey..
