looking forward to seeing our Cubs in such a big stage for them this evening..is certainly gonna be a step up from Selhurst Park. A jax should have a pretty young team out with splatterings of experienced players..probably more than us i should imagine due to us having more players at the WC. good luck to the lads...Come on Chelsea!!!!

would be very suprised if Matic left..i`m sure he`s pencilled in to be a first team squad regular this season..

*according to the Sun we should find out soon if Ramires is ours or not...not a bad weekly wage IF the Sun are true on this * BRAZILIAN World Cup ace Ramires will decide tomorrow whether to join Chelsea or Manchester City. The Premier League champions have made a £20million bid for Benfica's defensive midfielder. Yet Ramires, 23, who starred in Brazil's run to the quarter-finals in South Africa, is also wanted at Eastlands. Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira will meet with both English clubs to thrash out a deal best suited to the Portuguese champs. Ramires is ready to accept the four-year deal worth nearly £50,000 a week on offer from Chelsea. Yet City hope to gatecrash the party at the 11th hour. Ramires cost Benfica £5.5m from Cruzeiro last year. Brazil boss Dunga said he was sorely missed after suspension ruled him out of his nation's 2-1 last-eight defeat by the Netherlands.

Turnbull definately.. he handled the huge Inter game well and no other games in the following month are anywhere near as big a game as that was, so we should absolutely pick him..although about 10 years Hilario`s junior he plays a lot steadier than him...Hilario has made a few great saves over the years, but he`s also let in some shots that he should have easily saved. Turnbull on the other hand might not be able to pull off the world class saves..but least you know if he`s beaten..it`s by a good shot or header. whoever Carlo doesn`t pick out of the two is probably not far from the exit door...as much as Hilario is a likeable guy ,as most back up goalies usually are..i hope it`s him.
-
Carlo did say just after we won the double that Ivanovic done very well at RB but he sees him as a CB for us . with Bos it depends when he returns..for the time being it`s likely to be Hutchinson or Bruma... but Bruma will probably play CB against Ajax with Cork or Hutch at RB.
-
i`m sure we all would..but with the over inflated prices for English players we better off producing them through our youth ranks rather than buying them...luckily we have quite a few promising English and British players on our books already.
-
is already on the list at 19th :eyebrows:
-
5 million euros too.
-
i`m sure after the Mutu & Bosnich cases..players are watched more for tell tale signs....Crystalized noses, rolled up notes, finger rubbing gums in the locker room, over enthusiatic dancin` at the pre-game music etc...
-
indeed Mutu was a quality player
-
Bruma won`t be going on loan then and we may end up keeping Carvalho..unless Carlo is confident enough in the ability of Mancienne or Van Aanholt to play CB for us. starting CB`s will be JT and Ivanovic obviously..

*From Goal.com..also on Tribal Football..* Dinamo Bucharest Star Marius Alexe On Chelsea Radar - Report The Romanian attacker has apparently attracted the interest of Chelsea... By Stefan Coerts Jul 22, 2010 4:01:00 PM According to a report in ProSport, Premier League champions are considering making a move for promising youngster Marius Alexe, currently under contract with Romanian titans Dinamo Bucharest. The 20-year-old attacker is considered to be one of the most exciting youngsters around in European football and he's even been touted as 'the new Adrian Mutu' in his native country. Alexe was in superb form in the 2009-10 season and his good performance apparently left a mark with the rest of Europe. Chelsea have scouted the attacker on several occasions and the Blues are reportedly impressed with the young attacker's potential. The Romania under-21 star has an ongoing contract with Dinamo Bucharest and the White and Reds are reluctant to let go of their star attacker. However, Dinamo could be tempted to cash in on Alexe if an offer in the region of €5 million comes in.

i`m not so sure...he might be telling him not to go to Man City or England atall after his experience here..but i think Neymar seems to be his own man with his own mind and if he were to listen to anyone in Brazil it is more likely to be his family..he`s only known Robinho for a few months afterall, where as he has known his family all his life..and wether the reasons are purely for Neymar`s best interests or not, his family seem to be pushing for him to join Chelsea.
-
he`s a box to box player, just like Roy Keane or Michael Essien ;because he can tackle people think he is a DM..sure they could play that role but both players primary role is to bring the ball forward...
-
oh i don`t know...i`m glad he doesn`t manage Chelsea...but i`d love to see him in charge at Barcelona,Real Madrid,Man U,Bayern etc...
-
he wants to go back to Brazil..Fluminese aren`t willing or able to give us anything in return for a player whose under contract....so i say we try and get something for him off another Brazilian team..if the oppurtunity arises. which with us chasing Neymar,it may.
-
Deco wants to go back home to Brazil but he`s still under contract with us...we want a player currently playing in Brazil, whose club want 30 million for...i say we compromise ,offer them 23 mill in cash and Deco. surely better than letting him go for nothing..
-
Tony McAndrew....one of a large number of Celts to play for us over the years..especially in the `80`s
-
yeah..just pulling your chain man..
-
wouldn`t that make him about 94...i`m not sure if i`d even want Pele or Garrincha if they were 94...:eyebrows: i do agree with the other stuff tho..would be some serious energy in our team and especially our midfield with say Essien,Ramires & Lampard as the main starting three behind Malouda,Drogba & Kakuta/Neymar..Ash & Bos making forward forays as much as possible. etc..
-
haha..plenty of times i`ve found a Chelsea story, only to rush over here with it and find somebody else has already posted it... i`m sure even stupid Man City are starting to think about 20 midfielders is enough for them...i agree tho he would make a great addition, then i would close the book on buying anymore midfielders, unless it`s say somebody really special like Ozil.

*according to the Daily Mail* Chelsea have made a £20 million move for Brazilian World Cup star Ramires. Barclays Premier League champions want to head off interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona and hope a deal can be agreed quickly for the man affectionately known as the 'Blue Kenyan' in Brazil. Ramires: Brazil's surprise hit at the World Cup Manchester City were reported to have also shown interest in the 23-year-old, but his representatives say they have had no contact and that Ramires sees Chelsea as a 'dream move'. Chelsea have also bid £17m for Brazilian wonderkid Neymar, but his club Santos want nearer £30m. The 18-year-old is known to be interested in the transfer, and may force his owners' hand on the matter. Ramires , full name Ramires Santos do Nascimento, has had an impressive first season with Benfica, winning a league and cup double, and shooting to fame at the World Cup after a surprise call from coach Dunga. His dogged displays and hard-running from a right midfield position caught the eye. Dunga said he was sorely missed after a booking in the fiesty group match with Portugal ruled him out of Brazil's quarterfinal defeat by Holland. Chelsea made their first enquiry about him before the World Cup, aware Ramires would soon become a target for their rivals, but have now backed that up with a hard offer. Ramires said: 'My agent has told me that a number of clubs are interested in signing me. We all know that the World Cup is the perfect stage to prove your worth. It would be a dream for me to play for a big club such as Barcelona, Real Madrid or Chelsea.' Enlarge Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti needs to strengthen his midfield after losing Joe Cole and Michael Ballack, and with Deco due to return to Brazil. Although he has brought in Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun, Ancelotti knows Ramires can give him options in various positions and, crucially, is young enough to improve further. He could also play a role in Ancelotti's ambitious plan to sign compatriot Kaka from Real Madrid. Ramires earned his nickname 'Blue Kenyan', or Queniano Azul, at Cruzeiro, due to their blue strip and fans saying he had the endurance of a Kenyan marathon runner. He claims he honed his running skills as a child. 'When I was a kid, I was always running away from my grandmother,' he said. 'If I didn't run, I'd get spanked.' A box-to-box midfielder with pace, Ramires is strong in the tackle and creates chances, as he did by dribbling through Chile's defence to set up Robinho in Brazil's 3-0 World Cup win. Such displays will soon have the Blues cheering their very own marathon man. Chelsea have already lost goalkeeper Peter Cech for the start of the season, after he tore a calf muscle in his right leg. The 28-year-old, who was injured in training on Tuesday and is likely to be out for a month, will be replaced by Hilario.

honestly dude, get a grip..if buy, buy, buy is all you want, jump off our bandwagon and jump on Man City`s! we didnt invest the millions upon millions in Cobham and the Academy for us to keep buying like we did in the past. for a fan of Chelsea for 30 years, through two relegations and years of mediocracy,to hear people with such a doom and attitude now of all times..is tiresome, to put it politely.
