If we just signing one more 1st teamer for this season tho then i'd still go for one of the top keepers over any others.

Think David will go for more than £20m eventually but ongoing mystery why we and others haven't started bidding yet. Of course every transfer is a risk but we spend that kind of amount on players with so little pro experience and production. My theory is we looking at just 1 more target for the front 3 (atleast for our senior squad this season) and are weighing up options at both LW/LF and CF. I'd personally go for David but who knows what way they gonna go.maybe depends on where Maresca sees Nkunku playing..

Could be that Maresca wants to assess him at the other positions he appears to be able to play. Presumably after assessing if his birth certificate is legit.

Afcon puts me off abit.more specifically the fact teams lose players for a month or more during the season.but should scout globally rather than just 3 south american countries.

Not buying it. He might linger as this seasons Bettineli because he too is classed as homegrown but otherwise i don't see him lasting through pre-season. Nothing to be gained from putting out that players have no future,think if we get someone like Marmadashvili,either him or Kepa in the package will be something we'll attempt.

Players will be leaving for sure. But still think it's not a case of Colwill and Calafiori having to compete for the same position.so Benoit if stays can compete to be a 1st in line back up with Tosin. Alfie probably be loaned,Trev could easily it seems be shifted and Disasi with bit of luck.Fofana be great if recovers and gets back on track but shouldnt be counted on,having 3 quality CB's with Calafiori able to slide over i wouldnt say is overkill if you are able to accept there will be subtractions to go with the additions. Same with Mamardashvili..when special players are available we can't tell them to wait for us to shift some others first and expect them to still be availablr or worry about inferior players getting gametime.

I think we waiting to sign him,then when it's complete we'll sign another more established forward like David or Beier. I think they want him but probably understand he might not be ready yet for extended minutes he is seeking and if we sign somebody more established before him he might turn us down. It may be that he'll be getting the game time he desires even after another forward addition but they probably aware that it could give him doubts. I personally think in the front 3 when we play it we would look to play only one true winger,the others being a true CF and a wide forward.

Yep.Villa agree to pay us 37m for 1 of our pure profits,if we buy 1 of their "pure profits" .the way they can juggle the deals to comply..Villa and Everton appear to be working on deals for the same purpose. Villa want Maatsen,we have interest in Duran..valued around the same price.Maatsen more experience/established but Forward more a prime position. Don't see why we don't offer them a straight swap. And possibly offer release clause for Guirassy.two forwards for 18m + LB that isnt gonna play for us anymore. Jackson can compete for multiple spots in the front 3. Could argue why not just get Guirassy but then every Afcon we'd be missing all our CF's.

I would be fine with just sticking with what we got in the wide positions,letting them grow etc...but Olise is a special talent.just hope if we get him he can put those niggling injuries behind him,no question he's been good enough for a while.
