There is something to say for the better teammates, on the other hand Ajax was in a flow that i've never seen Chelsea in. Plus for example, a striker at a topclub has less space upfront than a striker at Aston Villa. He's a very different player than Willian is, so i don't think its a fair comparison. Ziyech is more the type of player that needs space for a cross, in stead of using speed and tricks to get past defenders.

I find it remarkable how the big majority of the people here think Ziyech is going to succeed at Chelsea so easily. I think he will have big problems adapting to the Premier League, although i obviously hope he does well. I've seen him so many times and am simply not convinced and yes, he did very well in the Champions League. But let's be clear, how many games have you seen him in the Champions League? We can say we're lucky that we've signed him and the competition has been asleep, but i highly doubt that.

I am not sure how to interpretate your post. I fell in love with Chelsea not because of their money or their prizes, and if we would have won very little or nothing without Abramovich, i would be fine with that. I believe that if Everton would have win the Premier League, their level of contentment, satisfaction would reach so much further than ours. Since we are basically obliged to win prizes with Roman's helping hand. It sort of feels like playing a game, but let one of my siblings fight the endboss. I also believes it shows in the current games, with less expectations, because of the transfer ban, the level of enjoyment returns and so is my own excitement.

The best and the easiest choice was either Christensen or Rudiger. The fact that he (Kepa) appeals for offside when Mahrez headed the ball towards Bernardo Silva, tells me that he had no idea what he was doing with Christensen and Rudiger next to him.

Yes, i've read that topic. He only been in the starting eleven for a handful of times. Most of that data is based of performances in the second league, the Keuken Kampioen Division. This league is a mixture of a professionals and amateurs, the average wage of these players is €2000 per month. This division can make a decent player look like the next big star.

I guess only time will tell who's right, i just don't see it happen for Gravenberch. So what is the 'data' you're talking about? Yes, we speak about different positions but i am justing pointing out who i think can make it at a top level and who doesn't. Gravenberch isn't one of them in my opinion i see a brighter future for Boadu, Ihattarran, Stengs, Koopmeiners, Dest, Kokcu and Unuvar. But than again, i could have made a similar list years ago and the majority wouldn't make it and am therefore not as confident in Ziyech as most here do. Let's see what happens within the next few years, and don't take me wrong, i hope Gravenberch will do great things for my country. ;-)

Every young Ajax player is possibly a next Dutch superstar, and there were many that couldn't live up the expectations. A player like Bazoer was supposedly the next Yaya Touré, and in all honestly i could see it happen, he was that good. He left Ajax in 2016 and after playing for Wolfsburg, he's now back in the Eredivisie. This is just an example which i have many of, but this player was much further than Gravenberch is right now. Riedewald, Anita, Kishna, Ebecilio, Klaassen just a few Dutch Ajax talents from the top of my head that never made it. PSV's Ihattarran and Ajax' Ünüvar are two talents that i personally rate much higher than Gravenberch. Let's see Ziyech play for a full season at Chelsea first before we call him a bargain.

I like him better than Hazard to be honest. Hazard did it mostly on intuition and that's amazing, but understanding why and when to apply certain things in the field makes you a different kind of player. His football intelligence is simply outstanding,his understanding and reading the game at this age is something you see rarely. I believe this guy has everything to become a worldclass player, lets hope he stays fit and i'm a happy man. I'm really curious to see his link-up with Werner next season, both having a past in the Bundesliga.

Kepa was never worth the £71m it's just outrageous money for a goalkeeper to begin with let alone, for a goalkeeper with his qualities. His pricetag simply doesn't rhyme with his qualities - which isn't his fault though. He's a good, potentially great goalkeeper but lacks qualities that i don't expect for his pricetag. He is good on the line and he has good reflexes, but he lacks football intelligence and ability to play football. Although i'm clearly not his biggest fan, this isn't a player that should be mentioned in a topic like this.

That's no excuse. Kepa is a good, maybe great goalkeeper in some parts of the game. But he lacks a lot of football intelligence, which is something i really care about in the contemporary game. He lacks more than i would expect for a £71m goalkeeper, which i can't blame him for ofcourse. Sometimes players want to prove themselves too bad, which leads to mistakes. The lofted pass you're talking about, was totally unnecesariliy, with hardly any pressure on him and Rudiger and Christensen next to him. I've said this before, goalkeepers in this era have to be more than just players that stop the opponent from scoring. If you know your shortcomings as a goalkeeper, you should keep it as clean and simple as possible. Football is simple, but simple football is difficult, Johan Cruijff once said.

What a great intelligent player is Pulisic. in contrast to other players in our team. I believe Kepa is a very decent keeper, but simply lacks football intelligence. The times where goalkeepers were just in goal to stop the opponent from scoring are over. It seems to me like Pulisic always thinks a step ahead, which is a big contribution to the rest of the team. I'm really curious to see how he will link up with Werner who also seems to be a smart player from what i've seen.

He can fulfil either role. As a substitute for obvious reasons, his professionalism, his experience and all of his football qualities. On the other hand, he would be perfect to wear defenders out for an hour and let Abraham, with his speed, agility - finish the job. I believe in todays game we saw something similar, with Tammy having lots of space and one big opportunity which he should have netted. These two strikers are so different from each other, which can only work in our favor if it gets used properly.

Jorginho is my man of the match, was very decent and was the main reason we had so much possession in the first half. Which made everyone play easier and build the foundation for this win. The way Caballero positions himself after a long ball from Alderweireld to either Tanganga or NDombele was shockingly hilarious. Glad Giroud had an impact. Should use him more in stead of Abraham, who wears me out.

Ziyech has been one of the better players for the last decade in the Eredivisie. He had an outstanding Champions League campaign last year with Ajax. Journalists here question if he has the quality to do well elsewhere, in a big competition at a big club like Chelsea. Ziyech isn't a winger and i can't see Lampard using him as one. Ziyech is a midfielder who can play as a winger, but will simply be better behind a striker. Ziyech lacks body and pace but has a good pass and shot and reads the game quite well. In the Eredivisie Ziyech didn't always seem too motivated to play against the smaller clubs - so he fits right in at Chelsea. I don't think he's the easiest player, he can be quite stubborn. Which he was in interviews when he first joined Ajax. Later on we saw a different Ziyech, a friendly one, a better one and someone who seemed to be happy, confident and motivated to do well; someone who made long runs to recapture the ball. Let's hope we get to see the Ziyech of Ajax' Champions League campaign last season, and we'll be fortunate to have such a player.

Bergwijn -> Tottenham seems a done deal. Quite a decent player from what i've seen, rate him potentially higher than Ajax' Neres for example. But could as well be another Memphis Depay.

I feel like he relies too much on his talent at this moment. Yesterday we got away atleast twice because he lost the ball at a crucial part of the field. The fact we didn't concede from it doesn't make it any less of a fault ofcourse. He misses some football intelligence in my opinion. Alright, he's only 19 but there will come a time in which he can't hide behind his age and talent.

If i were manager of Palaca i would swap my Zaha for Willian everyday. Without taking the homegrown, age etc. in consideration, just purely based on quality.

I am not a fan of Isco nor Zaha. I feel like Zaha is just too low of a target, Chelsea should aim for something higher with more quality. And i just don't see Isco doing well at Chelsea, i also doubt his work ethic. I would rather see Sancho join, and although it's a different position Aké return to Chelsea.

Torres is obviously not Chelsea's worst player of the 21ste century, neither are players as Shevchenko. A better title for these two would be 'most dissapointing', since they've cost a lot and never met their expectations. I would probably vote for Bogarde since he was shit and when he was offered a buyout he refused and demanded his full contract salary which was a ridiculous amount.

What's wrong with Christensen? Would have rather seen Tomori - Christensen than Zouma. He seem to have absolutely no clue what he's doing, not just because of this match or his own goal.
