Swansea never needed him, their midfield was set with Ledley, Allen and whoever else made up that trio. That's what was frustrating about that loan, everyone knew it as well, there was no chance he would break into that squad. Unless someone was injured. He needs to go to a team that has a need for him. Not as injury cover, as real vacancy so to speak.

this sounds like small club mentality. we play in the champions league to play the best teams in Europe and showcase our talent. why do we want to play Arsenal and Liverpool over Bayern? I'd rather we play Bayern, Barca and Real to show we can beat them and legitimately be the best club in Europe.

Oh well if Pellgrini says Mourinho is lying..
-
Double standards on here make me sick sometimes, smh..
-
...I think that's his point.
-
Of course. it's just a shame, he did have potential, but I'm sure everyone knew from the off he wasn't destined for us. it's just a shame he didn't see that. Indeed LeChels_, what TheIceMan says is what I meant. I firmly believe Moses tried his hardest to break through the competition but we simply signed players that were better than him. We wasted his time if I'm honest.
-
I really feel sorry for Moses. We signed him fresh from Wigan and probably sold him a dream of breaking through and solidifying a place. Martinez and Whelan tried their hardest to convince him to continue developing with Wigan which he would've and instead he was blinded. Willian, Schurrle and Salah have thus been signed and it's clear he's got no first team future with us. It's a shame tbh.
-
Tbh it looks good for a pure 4-3-3 when you push Schurrle and Willian up and Hazard would have more space to roam around. It would be a good strategy for the last 10 mins of a game when it's a draw and we need a goal.. Tired opposition wouldn't have an answer

Jesus, I actually thought you were banned because I read the Warned/Banned thread first
-
Indeed. Similarly, any one know what Paulo Ferreira is up to? Is he still with the club?
-
I love what you did to this thread, I can't even lie
-
Exactly. There seems to be a myth that we're all suddenly ungrateful to what he's achieved for us. no one's forgotten that or belittling that. It's the legacy of Lampard that's become tarnished, not his accomplishments and contributions.
-
Yeah I get what you mean, I'm not sure why I felt it would've been JT, but it was just a comparison of how I felt which player wouldn't do this rather than would. if that makes sense?
-
Probably because despite all the controversy Terry went through the fans stood by him. Through the affair, England captaincy, Moscow, Barcelona etc. You were spot on with the Vieira comment imo. He was meant to be an Arsenal man through and through. Captain of the invincibles and all those legendary tags, now he's leading their future talent in a management capacity. I hope Lampard shows a bit of loyalty in that aspect. but after this, it sends a message.
-
Yeah and plus the fact he's accepted the club's deal does speak volumes. I wonder if he'll be our first 'one club' player in modern Chelsea history..
-
Lmao it's good tbh. I'm glad we're having a 'quiet' preseason so to speak.. there's no real hype at the moment about us because we've almost gone under the radar with quick, shrewd, signings. They're putting United and Liverpool on a pedestal that will only be their downfall when the real football commences. and that's when they'll have a wankfest over Chelsea.
-
Big call mate! But I hope you're right because I fear complacency in this defence actually, Ivanovic will definitely keep competition to its maximum in a positive way for sure
-
pun intended?

I don't agree with any of your points and if you're interested, I'll say why. Mourinho has already said Frank was offered a deal like Ash but both rejected. I was in favour of Lampard moving abroad (I did state pessimism about NYC) because it wouldn't affect Chelsea's ambitions. It doesn't matter if he plays for them or not. The point for us who are not happy more than others is that he's playing for a direct title rival. It's as bad as Liverpool, Arsenal or United. If he wanted solely to train, Mourinho said Abramovic promised Lampard a job for life. He could've signed his 6 month loan with us. Lampard even said Uncle Harry wanted him at QPR but he didn't want to move because it was too close to Chelsea. Well, if he was just training that surely staying in London is a bigger incentive? As for your third and fourth point, Lampard shouldn't be willing to offer to help City in their quest for success. He should be thinking how to help Chelsea, if he really did reject QPR for the fans. Even if NYC and City have the same owners, he would've been told about this in negotiations and yet he STILL proceeded. Other MLS clubs wanted him, LA Galaxy the most prominent. So he wasn't short of options.
-
He was also blinded by City's lure. in reality he can only blame himself, he saw what became of Sinclair and Johnson but thought he would be different. I still remember the potential dram England future of Rodwell, Henderson and McEachran in the middle.. Such a waste of talents.
-
We can only hope he's speaking truth Term. I really believed Lampard, I was more convicted Terry would do something like this if I'm being honest.
-
You make it sound like he's going for business and investment opportunities. it's besides the point in the first place. This loan is until January. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the MLS season begin in March? How is going to Melbourne for 6 months hampering any of these opportunities. He's a grown man, he doesn't have to go on loan to Manchester City if he doesn't want to. I'm sure they didn't hide the concept from him when he first began negotiating with NYC. Melbourne wasn't the only alternative he could've gone for lmao. As for proving himself at the top level, how exactly does he plan to impress Roy anyway if he's playing sporadically for City (while helping them take points from us). He fully knew what would happen by joining MLS' Manchester City, ignorance is bliss I suppose, but it's not an excuse. I just find it mind boggling how you're so okay with this. you've in the past discussed how there's an emotional connection with this club for fans, it's not just a business. that couldn't be more true when it comes to Lampard, we emotionally invested in him because he appeared to show loyalty as well as class. Loyalty over Royalty.
-
He's going to be playing in America anyway? What difference does this distance make then. it's an excuse to justify this move when I see none for it. He should be contracted from 2015 anyway with NYC so I don't believe in this theory that he had no choice tbh
-
He's definitely got a point about City there though, they're finding too many potential loopholes with FFP. The sponsorship deals, the buying of clubs..
-
I mean I get the charity concept, but this is a ridiculous way to go about it. why not make it an actual tournament?
