  1. Big fan of Wanyama! Think he's done really well for Southampton, first Kenyan to play in the PL . He wants to leave too, wanted to go Spurs but Soton wouldn't sell after losing Schneiderlin. In Jan the right offer could trigger something.
  2. actually for once I think we know we're shite
  3. Yeah same man! A lot of my extended family are there from an earlier migration from India. Been there for generations, from Nairobi to Mombassa to Eldorat to Kisumu I like Kenya but I have no time for Nairobi. Dangerous, corrupt and going through a dangerous property bubble. Elections in 2017 but they've already begun the election violence rhetoric lmao.
  4. Our very own Delac was meant to be the next Cech
  5. Lot of rumours flew around end of the transfer window that Pato was being offered to United & co but never materialised. Afaik, his parent club have been trying to get rid of him for a while and even went to the extent of loaning him out to a rival club
  6. Man I always thought Diego Alvez was going to become one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Used to watch his progress at Almeria, same with Sergio Asenjo before DDG and TBO vanquished him to the abyss Who else was there? Igor Akinfeev was beat in Pro Evo 6 years and Football manager Oh the memories
  7. Yeah true, it just depends on the commitment of the club to spend though. With Mourinho in charge (should he still be), or whichever high-profile manager we get, player will still see us as a big club if we invest in more than one world-class player. Next season would be our first without CL in over a decade. Club negotiators have to show that we're not going to do a Liverpool and be doomed to mediocrity of annual Europa League instead of being like Man United and coming straight back into it.
  8. mate imagine it didn't get called a goal though - Can you imagine the combustion of Mourinho in the post-match PC?!
  9. I mean I'm as big of a Mourinho guy as the next person, but that's a bit far from the truth . He can give/do more, but that's neither here or there. What is nice is that he's leaned away from his dig last year at the Bridge support. Now whether he did that for dramatic effect or whether he felt it was true, there was certainly an attitude change from stewards and fans alike. Someone mentioned it recently, icr who, but Mourinho has never shied away from taking responsibility. He's held his hands up numerous times this season, for that he deserves respect. (It's just unfortunate sometimes he can't see why)
  10. No way? My family's from Kenya too, I was in Nairobi in October!
  11. Well most people do see him as a n10 tbh so you weren't the only one. As far as Willian's ceiling goes for his potential, I don't think it's that high. He's done a great job thus far and as others have said, he's carried us through to the knock out round of the CL and deserves enormous credit for that. Can we do better? I think so. Particularly with someone who makes better decisions in the final third of the pitch, where you want your wingers more effective. In any case, he's been a breath of fresh air for sure.
  12. In Costa's absence we've need goals from anywhere and Willian's seen off guys like Salah, Cuadrado and Schurrle to cement his place for a while.. Fair enough to him
  13. Our loan system is a big 'what if' scenario tbh. Sometimes they're really successful at one club and we move them on and they don't reach the heights they had before (Nat Chalobah). Sometimes they have great consistency on their loans but don't breakthrough (Lukaku, Sturridge). Even if we look now, already talks of over 20 loanees being recalled because of their lack of game time. Aké is getting numbers on the board but knowing Chelsea we'll send him elsewhere and won't hear from him again lmao.. Who knows what loan futures hold for Ruben and all the other academy players. A lot of it down to luck of the draw with us tbh..
  14. What's that old saying, 'guns don't kill people, people do'? Let's prove it and take the guns away
  15. Was he? Lol. Not slating the dude, but he forced the club's hand in a 'sell me or play me' thing. It was smart, crucial and essential he did but he wasn't exactly 'patient', could've left us in a heartbeat if we persisted with Cech. Maybe that's what Ruben must do, force the clubs hand. Albeit, in his position he hardly has the bargain power.
  16. Let's not forget that stadium he's paying for..
  17. Yup, he's changed everyone's minds. Good on him as well, it's a shame he couldn't do it at Chelsea. It was his boyhood dream, but I guess we gave him the harsh reality of football lol. Maybe he'll want to come back if Mourinho goes..
